If you are considering staying here be very careful. We told the owner Jenny that we would pay in vatu at the accommodation on the island - which we did, only to find that she had also charged full price to our credit card. Still trying to get that back!!! The bungalows are situated in an awesome spot on the beach in Port Resolution harbour. We had a great time here mixing with the villagers and their children. And the trip up to the volcano was fantastic, the highlight of the whole trip. This place would be awesome with the right people running it.

Owner Jenny was very nice lady and very helpful in Port Vila. We payed her everything in advance, 2 nights accommodation, airport transfers, volcano tour, and 4 tours at Tanna Hotsprings. This was our mistake. Do not pay Jenny for airport transfers and volcano tours and for tours in village, pay direct to the people in Tanna. We were lucky that Jenny had sent some money to village to pay for our tours but this was exception (ask Jenny before you go). Food is just rice and vegetables and eggs. So bring some snacks from Vila. We wanted to see volcano first night and the driver (they share driver with Friendly Bungalows) came to pick us up too late to get to volcano by sunset (as promised). It is not 20 min drive, it is 1 hour drive to volcano. We reached there it was completely dark. And then driver said that he has to take people from Friendly Bungalows back to resort and he can not wait for us. He said that some other driver can take us but we have to pay 50aud. The girl who was our guide told that this is what they do, bring people to volcano when it is dark and then ask 50aud to take them back. This ruined our visit to volcano completely. I said that we would rather walk back than pay his that money and our driver left and we were abandoned in the middle of night in the darkness. we were last people at the volcano and the last truck was leaving, they took us home, payed him 20aud. Saw volcano only 10 min and got 1 photo, very disappointed. Accommodation very basic. Cold shower. Saw big rat in our room and dirt left everywhere, even on my clothes. Fire walking and kustom dance worth going. Flora, the girl who took care of us, very nice and friendly, she saved the day. She is great cook. Luckily we did not have to pay extra for airport drop off as the driver had told us on the night he left us at volcano. But I think it was only because they had to go and pick up other people from that flight from Vila. Overall we would never go back there. You are not getting what you pay for!…

The owner ripped us off really badly by double charging us for the accommodation - first he charged our credit card (which we didn't know at the time) and then they wanted cash from us on departure. It could have been a nice place but completely ruined by people like this. The food was definitely poor value for money. The transport is a joke given that they charge for it so much.
