We were lucky enough to stay one night at Yeeda Station as part of our short trip to Broome, and loved the new safari style spacious tents out there. This is glamping at its best, and the beautiful dinner enjoyed under the stars cooked by Patrice and Chantelle just topped it off! Fillet steak from the station cooked to perfection followed by dessert and a couple of drinks around the fire pit. Great pool and lots of shady trees to relax under. Barramundi fishing and of course the cattle wandering around made it a great station stay experience for us. We will be back when we have more time on another trip! Thanks to Jack and Vicky Burton, you have created something very special out there.
We have just left Yeeda Station in the Kimberley and we are missing it already. We have stayed in other eco-tents in WA but this experience stands out as our best. Picture this: sitting around a campfire followed by a delicious dinner cooked by a French chef, Patrice, and his wife Chantelle. On the menu was fillet steak (from the station of course) with red wine jus and baked barramundi. Yeeda is not just for glampers like us: it caters for caravaners and campers and there are activities for kids like swimming in the pool, barra fishing and mud crabbing. It’s a family-owned, working cattle station and we were lucky enough to be taken on a tour by one of the owners Peter Burton. It was fascinating for us city slickers to see how a cattle works. There were many highlights of our two-night stay but up there was the Kimberley hospitality we received from Patrice and Chantelle. Nothing was too much trouble: they baked a beautiful cake for my birthday and when we needed help with our car, Patrice was happy to oblige. PS this photo of the homestead was photo-bombed by a friendly cow. …
Last weekend we booked Yeeda for a gathering of old Kimberley friends. We had such a fabulous time sitting around the campfire telling yarns, sight seeing and fishing. Yeeda is perfect for families looking for the station experience, couples wanting some down time or fishing enthusiasts chasing Barramundi (great fishing at your doorstep). Yeeda has a lovely pool, big shady trees, lawned areas, and clean tidy facilities (even a washing machine). The safari tents are groovy with their own balcony to bird watch or enjoy the friendly cattle from. Yeeda also catered for our friends birthday with a long table dinner under the stars which was absolutely beautiful...great wine, locally grown beef and chocolate mud cake that is still being talked about. Thank you Jack and Vicki Burton for showing us your slice of paradise...we’ll be back. …
