We stayed here during a weekend hockey tournament. We were given the choice of two hotels we were required to stay at or teams were fined $500. The other hotel was full so we HAD to stay here. Keep in mind we have two teams of 7-9 year old boys and families with us. All in all over 20 rooms. At approximately 6:10 the staff member on duty comes out and yells at everyone (cocking her head around and rolling her eyes at everyone) and tells them if they can’t control their kids (keep them from running around) then she’s going to kick us put if the lobby. She then snapped her body around rolling her eyes more and literally storming into her “office area.” Her attitude apparently gave the bartender the courage to come up and snap at parents telling them no outside drinks on “HIS” bar. All in all the staff member comes out snapping again in regards to her kicking us out and she will call the cops. She so abrasive she has two children freaking out and crying. Next time we will take our $500 penalty and pay it if we are required to stay here. What did this hotel s Pe with 20+ 7-9 year old boys?! Let me add our team had 3 different one hour games throughout the day. We weren’t even here all day and the hour and a half we were our team was pretty much in their rooms. Had this staff member or any other staff member addressed any situation in the moment there wouldn’t be a need for some “I’m pulling rank and kicking you out” speech. I have managed for over 10 years and this was BY FAR the worst customer service! While the rooms are clean and chic I think the lack of customer care far outweighs any hotel room that people literally just sleep in. I will be calling the corporate office on Monday. I will spend my time to make sure this never happens to anyone else and no one else has to calm their child down from wanting to leave. You know it’s bad when a kid doesn’t want to be around that staff member anymore when they would rather leave then go swimming.…
I love Aloft hotels, they are chic and clean and a unique stay. But the Aloft in Aksarben Village has the best bartender on the weekends! Neon makes the most beautiful cocktails with combinations of flavors I absolutely loved and cannot get anywhere else. I might have to visit Omaha again just to see Neon!
