The hotel is cheap and it offers a fairly good breakfast for the money you pay. However, it is rather dirty and the rooms are noisy. The smell in the room was unpleasant. A good thing is the parking, secured private parking in the backyard.
We arrived late in Turkey (midnight) and were lucky to find a place that accomodated us. The staff weren‘t friendly but we were allowed to park our cars in their backyard until the early afternoon of the next day (after check-out) which was nine. We had to pay cash.
The Hotel is located centrally in the town of Edirne (formerly known as Hadrianopolis). I reached Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen late at night and my hotel reservation at Kumkapi Best Western Amber was not until the next day afternoon. So I decided not to waste the night and rented a car from Budget at Sabiha Gocken and reached Edirne at 2:00 am. I found this quaint little hotel and rang the bell. An old man came out and welcomed me warmly. I booked a room for the night and had a good night's sleep. The rooms and the bath was small and the facilities basic but everything was made up by the warmth of the hosts. In the morning I was greeted by a lady and a young girl. It seemed to me like a family run hotel and although nobody spoke any english and we had to communicate through gestures and some basic words, but the hosts were so generous and looked after my comfort so well that they more than made up for the lack of formal communication. the hotel as free wi fi and has complimentary breakfast too.…
