I am sorry if someone in one of our cottages, located around the courtyard, has come across as the 'car parking police', and if their communications have come across as harsh.

We ask that guests are considerate when parking in the courtyard, which can accommodate 5-6 guest vehicles in relation to the two cottages in question. We then also offer additional free parking in our paddock, 30m along the lane, which accommodates many more vehicles.

For wedding groups, we seek to discuss parking at the beginning of the stay, as we appreciate that this can present a challenge beyond the parking available in the courtyard, with photographer, videographer, make-up & hair artists, etc, etc, visiting on the morning of the wedding. We have ample space to cater for this overall, and we just ask that we agree a suitable plan.

The 'please keep off the grass' sign on the courtyard lawn is intended to help protect it from damage, regardless of cause. In the past, we have experienced damage to the lawn, caused by people, vehicles and animals.

We like to avoid the brown patches resulting from dog urine on the courtyard lawn areas, and so we ask owners to encourage their dogs to go to the toilet elsewhere. We have plenty of other areas and land where owners can exercise their dogs, or allow them to answer the call of nature.

Thanks for your great review. The property is a listed building, dating to around 1550 (and around 1350 in the main house), and we've tried to balance this heritage with modern comforts.

The building structure is substantially original, dating to around 1550, and it's difficult to eliminate creaks, but we will look to see if there are any aspects of flooring that could be improved on this front. There is no restriction on the use of the play area shown in the pictures, and we are sorry you felt this was the case. There are a number of signs marking areas as 'private', though we are happy to discuss and agree guest use of all of these areas, subject to some 'ground rules' (e.g. latest time of evening use in some areas)
