This person did not have a reservation. He made a request on a hotel booking site. I do not have automatic confirmations. All of my bookings are 'on request; confirmation within 48 hours'. After receiving the request, I sent an email declining the reservation because all of my rooms were full. I have proof that this person received an email from the booking site refusing the reservation request. However, this person apparently does not read his email; nor does he listen, because when he called me I tried to tell him that I could give him a room for 1 night, and that he could find another hotel the next day. He was angry and yelling, despite the fact the situation was 100% due to his mistake.
I am not perfect; I do make mistakes, and when I do, I take responsibility. In this case, I make no apologies. Nevertheless, I tried to help this person because when people to come to New York, I want them to be happy. Unfortunately, he did not care to listen.
