Superbe appartement au cœur de Lagrasse
Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour dans ce superbe appartement. Tout était parfait. La terrasse est tellement agréable et donne sur une vue magnifique.
La propriétaire offre un service impeccable et personnalisé.
Nous y retournerons avec plaisir.

High quality apartment
Although we had been to Lagrasse before, we had never stayed in the village. So we were able to experience a weekend music festival with music for different tastes and really good food. The river didn’t disappoint and we swam there nearly every day. Further afield we visited Olonzac for its great market, Esperaza for its dinosaur museum several Cathar castles and Carcassonne.
The apartment was of a high standard, mainly adult friendly with a fabulous terrace which had a barbecue and dining and sunbathing area.

Best of southern France
If you want to believe for a moment that you own the PERFECT French country home, come to Lagrasse and stay at House La France. Featured in design publications and on French TV, Nicole’s two apartments are perfectly situated with views of the medieval abbey and river. Lagrasse itself is charming with several great restaurants, a lovely Boulanger and more. Nicole has two apartments, both impeccable, with fully furnished kitchens, top of the line linens. There is a one bedroom with no steps. One flight up is a three bedroom, each bedroom with its own bath and a fabulous terrace.
Nicole provided us with great recommendations for restaurants in the area. She never disappointed!! We highly recommend!!!

Probably the best apartment we have ever rented
Had to wait until we had secured our week for next fall before I would let the rest of you know what a find House la France Large Terrace Apartment is. The apartment itself is definitely large enough for 6, but very comfortable and cozy for the two of us. Bright, airy, well stocked kitchen, beautiful bathrooms—a truly amazing renovation. And then there is the HUGE private terrace up a winding staircase with comfortable seating, large dining table, and lovely views of the bordering river and hillside. The town of Lagrasse is the perfect size—restaurants and small shops with everything you could want—wine, cheeses, charcuterie, groceries—with narrow, cobblestone, winding streets and beautiful walks right from town. History, hiking, and markets within easy drives. Nicole provides very helpful information and recommendations on all of this. And she was a total delight to deal with from booking to answering questions to sharing a glass of wine with on the terrace. Can’t wait to return.

Perfect Retreat
This was our third year staying with Nicole - an testament to the beauty of both the apartments and Lagrasse, as we’ve never been to the same place twice before, let alone three times! And it looks as though a fourth is on the cards ... sorry, Nicole!
This year, we were back in the Ramparts, and it didn’t disappoint. The apartment has been beautifully restored, and you can feel stress fall away as soon as you enter. Sitting out on ‘our’ little turret with a glass of wine/beer in the evenings, listening to the frogs singing and watching the sun set over Charlemagne’s Bottom is the perfect antidote to the regular busyness of life.
Lagrasse itself is a wonderful place, and if you’re lucky enough to stay during one of the festivals (we tend to catch the Blanc et Noir outdoor piano festival), you certainly won’t be disappointed. It can’t be bettered as a base for exploring both the sights in the Pyrenees and Montaigne Noir - although, the drives can be a bit hair raising for a coward like me!
Stunning apartment with a gracious host. As I said in the title; a perfect retreat. Go and stay, just don’t pinch our week!

I am genuinely so touched by your comments. It's wonderful that you want to keep returning. Firstly of course for me to know that I have created something here in which you feel comfortable and relaxed and secondly that it now feels as if I am welcoming friends each time you come. That's a great feeling.
I look forward this summer for us to share a few more stories over a glass or two while sitting in the sun watching the river trickle by. You are coming back, how brilliant!

A beautiful house in a great village
The large terrace apartment - really more of a house - is beautiful. With the main rooms overlooking the river the tall ceilings, large windows and decoration give an immediate sense of calm. The bedrooms are more than comfortable and all the bathrooms are very well finished and equipped. Likewise the kitchen which has a nice terrace overlooking the internal courtyard.
However it is the large terrace on top of the house that makes this home such an exceptional place to stay. A great place to eat and relax for groups large and small.
Nicole wasn't there during our stay but she had arranged all the support we needed and everything worked liked clockwork.
We love Lagrasse and this house in particular! We hope to be back

Its a beautiful Apartment NOT a hotel
The Large Terrace apartment is stunningly lovely.
Probably the cleanest we have ever stayed in. No crumbs in this cutlery drawer thank goodness.
We could not fault anything. Much thought had been given to the interior. It was superb. The bedding, linen, furnishings, view, comfort and location were all 5 star ⭐️
its location in the centre of the village is perfect.
Plenty of restaurant to choose from. Parking was very easy and safe.
A perfect holiday.

So good we decided to return.
Last year we stayed in Nicole's one bedroom apartment and I gave a rave review, I even said we would return. Well, we did and this time we took our daughter and boyfriend and stayed in the Large Terrace Apartment. What can I say, this is the first time we have ever returned to the same location. Lagrasse is a fantastic place to unwind, the roof terrace with this particular apartment is an excellent place to enjoy outdoor dining and we spent most evenings sat out enjoying our holiday. As always Nicole provides a quality experience and her design touches in both apartments are superb. Our interest in all things Cathar meant that Lagrasse was the perfect location to day trip to some of the many castles in relatively close proximity. We do intend to return, although we may risk trying a different part of the world before we do. 😉

the most delightful of houses and villages
We loved our stay at your house. Your house has given me major bonus points among my friends! Sorry that we didn't get to meet you, but you were always easy to correspond with.
You must be accustomed to this by now, but your house is the loveliest house (among many lovely houses!) that we've ever stayed in. I cannot let you know adequately how much I appreciated your thoughtful design. Every detail was superb. I want to reproduce the concrete (?) flooring throughout the space. The unanimous favorite space for the entire group, though, was the rooftop terrace. I could easily spend a return week never leaving Lagrasse or your house. In fact, I could spend much longer in Lagrasse.
A note to future travelers: early May is a delightful time to visit. This May was a bit cooler than normal, but it was still quite pleasant. All night long one sleeps with the frogs croaking along the river. It was heavenly.
Another unexpected surprise was how beautiful the view is from the house and terrace: a rocky slope with native vegetation that was very calming.

Strålende!!!
House la France var en strålende opplevelse! Leiligheten var delikat innredet, nydelig stor seng i ett vakkert soverom, praktiskt kjøkken, hyggelig stue og flott bad. Beliggenheten i den gamle bydelen gav en følelse av å være i en annen tidsepoke. Utsikten mot elven og den gamle broen var vakker, vi kunne stå på balkongen og se fisken svømme i elven, høre klokkene fra klosteret ringe, og den vakkre fuglesangen innrammet det hele. Transport frem og tilbake till tågstasjonen blev ordnet av vertinnen uten problemer, hun kontaktet oss også flere ganger for å forsikre seg om att allt var ok med oss, veldig hyggelig gjort. Det var mange ting å gjøre i Lagrasse, vi leide sykkler ett par dager,(sykkelutleier er nærmeste nabo) utrulig flotte omgivelser med fine nesten bilfrie sykkelveier, var også på flere fotturer. Høydepunkte var nok markeden som er hver lørdag, kofferten vår blev fyllt med både pølser, skinke, ost og vin. Overnatter du i Lagrasse og House la France så får du en opplevelse for livet.
