This is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday or an ideal base for property hunting. Located the edge of the peaceful village of Champagné le sec which is surrounded by fields of sunflowers and local crops. There are numerous way-marked walks of varying lengths. All on flat terrain, so not too strenuous and no need for hiking boots! Just take a picnic and enjoy strolling through the local hamlets and admiring countryside. If you prefer a gentle cycle ride, we have bikes available on request.

There are three major supermarkets within about ten minutes drive. The local town of Civray (10 minutes) has bars, restaurants and a twice weekly market and even a cinema which sometimes shows English films. You'll also find the new indoor/outdoor pool open seven days a week.
If you are property hunting, you will be located in the south Vienne, ideally situated for property searching in the Vienne and Deux-Sevres departements. Just five minutes drive from the RN10, the main route between Poitiers and Angouleme. We're always on hand to help with your property hunting needs.

Au calme à la Campagne
Nous avions réservé pour 3 nuits avec ma compagne afin d'avoir un hébergement au calme, proche de Civray car nous étions au Festival.
Le logement est propre, bien aménagé et décoré et très calme. Il est à l'angle de la maison des propriétaires mais non visible, donc vous êtes chez vous
Il y a tout le nécessaire dans la maison. Il y a également un barbecue Charbon et 2 VTT disponibles.
Seuls petits hics, le matelas est un peu dur, mais on s'y fait. Le wifi est par contre très instable. Mais au moins, ça permet de déconnecter complètement !

Fabulous Gite and Hosts
Our third trip to La Greletterie and we can only say what a pleasure it is to stay in this clean and comfortable cottage. No effort has been spared to make this as homely a space as possible. We are always made to feel extremely welcome.
The Gite is positioned in a great central location for exploring some of the most beautiful regions of France with easy access to major motorways, airports and train stations, it is the perfect base.
We will be back again.

Simply lovely
As a creature of habit and environment, change is my worst nightmare. After having stayed in the same Gite for 5 years (up-to 8 times a year), alas the owners sold up and I did not want to carry on staying there under new proprietorship. As anyone that is familiar with Gite stays, the owners make the experience as much as the building itself.
Many hours spent trawling the net, I stumbled across La Greletterie (I believe to be an ancient French word for the Cricket (insect). The pictures looked great and the location for me was perfect. I booked through Trip Advisor and got a very swift response from Lesley/Mark. From that moment I realised I had discovered my new long term abode. Everything about the Gite was perfect, the communication also perfect. The highest scoring item for me is cleanliness ...guess what..,amazing!!!
There is a beautiful little gravel garden that can be seen from the kitchen door, a very welcoming site first thing in the morning not to mention returning from a long day slaving over a cement mixer.
All in all, I highly recommend this Gite and must commend Lesley and Mark on a lovely stay.

Summer Break
Stayed for a week in this lovely, clean, tidy and above average standard Gite. The owners were very welcoming, even though they weren’t there when we got there, they left us essentials bread & butter, cheese, wine and milk. This was a lovely place to stay and explore. We drove around all the nearby villages and visited some bigger towns. A pleasant time was had. Thank you Leslie and Mark

Ruim en fris appartement
Volledig uitgevoerde gite in een rustige omgeving, met een hartelijke ontvangst door eigenaren. Zeer aan te raden voor mensen die niet op zoek zijn naar spektakel maar naar rust in een prima wandelomgeving.

What a find!
The gite is equipped to a high standard and is very comfortable. Can't think of anything else we would have needed. The owners, Lesley and Mark, are incredibly well informed about the area and are there if you need them - but unobtrusive if you don't. We'll be back!

A wonderful place to stay
This really was a superb find. Mark and Lesley are wonderful hosts, offering all of the privacy and independence you might want but also being present to offer any help and advice you might need.Their recommendations were greatly appreciated.
La Greletterie is in a fantastic location if you are property hunting or en route further South.This lovely Gite has everything you could wish for including an excellent Wi fi connection.We will certainly be returning to this beautiful part of France and very much look forward to seeing Mark and Lesley again who made our stay so enjoyable.

Lovely spot, very nice people
We stayed here for a long w/e whilst viewing properties to buy in the area. The accommodation is lovely, with shops handy for purchasing supplies and open fields and woodland behind ideal for a walk or two. Mark and Lesley were very good hosts, friendly and helpful with advice for our own property viewing and also unobtrusive (the gite is tucked nicely away in it's own space). Great stay - thanks.
