Prachtige plek
Aangekomen bij Thebaida do Massapez waan je je in een botanische tuin met een terras, zwembad en de mooiste zonsondergang die je kunt bedenken. Het huis ziet er prachtig uit. Het uitzicht vanuit de slaapkamers is adembenemend. De keuken en inrichting is eenvoudig maar prima. Keuken is van alles voorzien. Bedden zijn netjes opgemaakt, een stapel handdoeken ligt klaar. Wij, 3 vriendinnen, hebben enorm genoten van dit huis! Een paradijsje op Madeira. When you arrive at Thebaida do Massapez you will find yourself in a botanical garden with a terrace, swimming pool and the most beautiful sunset you can imagine. The house looks beautiful. The view from the bedrooms is breathtaking. The kitchen and decor ate simple but fine. Kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Beds are neatly made, a stack of towels is ready. We, 3 girlfriends, enjoyed this house immensely! A paradise on Madeira.

Fantastic views in a quiet and relaxing house
We had a fantastic holiday at Thebaida do Massapez. It's in a quiet location with amazing views of the sea. Beautiful sunsets meant that eating outside in the evening was lovely. The house is well equipped and was spotlessly clean and the pool is good for cooling off on hot days. The outside kitchen is a nice addition and cooking over a wood fire was fun. We did have trouble with a broken washing machine however Emanuel rectified the situation quickly and purchased a new one. All handled incredibly well and professionally. You'll need a car to get around as the house is off the beaten track however it's perfect for relaxing and recharging. You won't be disappointed, it's a fabulous place to have a holiday.

Dear guests. Thank you for a great review, it is always a pleasure for us at the end of each stay to know that our guests have received the level of enjoyment, satisfaction and care that we always endeavour to deliver. Car hire is a must anywhere in Madeira as there is so much to explore throughout the island, reason why so many of our guests return as they are unable to pack it all in during their stay. The Villa is situated 35-40 minutes from the city of Funchal and about an hour from the airport when using the new express roads. The Villa is situated in the West side of the island, Calheta benefits from the hottest climate in Madeira. We hope to see you here again. Best regards

Excellent stay on Madeira
Location is very good. Most attraction are within 40 min. car ride. Home is spacious for family of four (2+2). Pool is great thing for kids and it is safely fenced. There are basic information about neighbourhood provided in the house and also some guides and maps. It is very quiet and private and views are great. Emanuel is very friendly and flexible (although we had to fly day before our rental was starting there was no problem to arrive earlier at property, finally it was not need but big plus for Emanuel to prepare everything). Great vacation on Madeira (again!) Driveway to the parking in front of the house is much more steep and narrow than it looks on the photos:-) something you have to get used to in Madeira

Fabulous viewpoint over the atlantic, lovely and very quiet location! Certainly 5-stars for that!! The house is comfortable and provides everything you need. Nothing at all to complain about.Emmanuel is a very friendly host and stayed in touch for anything we needed during our vacation. On top of that he also shipped the things we forgot back home to us!! Thank you so very much for this great vacations in your villa and Maderia.

Très belle location
Maison idéal, ambiance chaleureuse avec toutes les prestations requises pour se ressourcer ,endroit très calme , avec une vue sur l'océan qui est magnifique surtout au coucher du soleil . Le propriétaire Emanuel et son ami francophone sont très réactifs et sympathiques pas de souci de communication. Maison que nous recommandons pour l'ensemble de ses prestations

"Peace and relaxation"
This was our second visit to “Thebaida do Massapez” and it was just as we remembered. The house is very quietly situated and in an extremely good location, whether relaxing next to the pool on the sunbaked patio and looking out over the sea, or trying to name the many fruit and palm trees or watching the many Lizards and birds in the garden, it is a wonderful place to be. There are the Levada walks of course and also some good hikes in the hills where we enjoyed the scent from the Eucalyptus trees and marvelled at the unbroken expanse of gorse covering the hills, just incredible!. Emanuel, the owner of Thebaida do Massapez is very friendly and helpful and just a phone call away and the house is kept very clean and well managed between lets by Maria the housekeeper. There is a good shop at Calheta and a large supermarket in Funchal with an underground car park. I am sure we will be back, this has become another favourite place to visit.

Lovely private and peaceful villa with amazing views
The lovely villa is located down a very quiet no through road with a fabulous viewpoint over Paul do Mar and the cliffs at the end. The view from the spacious and immaculate patio is amazing - an uninterrupted view of the sea and the lovely sunsets, and as it gets the sun all day is perfect for sitting by the pool and relaxing. The house is really comfortable with three shower rooms and two large bedrooms and a spacious but cosy open plan lounge/diner/kitchen and a lovely real fire. All the linen and towels are provided and are immaculately clean. The villa is the perfect base for a combination of peace and quiet and a great base for exploring the beautiful island. It is only around 10 mins drive to the expressway which enables fast access to the whole island. We loved the South West area where the villa is located where there are some lovely Levada walks around Ponta Do Pargo, quiet and beautiful countryside and really friendly local people. Emmanuel very kindly stayed to welcome us on Christmas Eve even though our plane was very delayed and then stayed in touch for anything we needed and even with kind suggestions for where to see the New Year fireworks so we felt very welcome and well looked after. We will definitely return to the villa and Madeira. Thanks again Emmanuel, and Maria.

A haven of peace and tranquility.
We arrived at about 8pm after a flight delay. Emanuel had offered to meet us, but we thought it unfair for him to wait around. He had however got food in and we were immensley grateful at such a kind thing to do. The villa was beautiful and we couldn't have asked for more. Everything we needed was provided and we just totally relaxed. It is in such a lovely loction and our car made it up the driveway just fine. We found the best place to eat was Joe's Bar, the atmosphere was good there and the food really nice. We did some lovely walks to the waterfall in Ribacal (take a torch for the foot tunnel if you do that route) and then we drove to the top of the mountain after and the view was simply stunning. What can I say, the week went to quickly, but we enjoyed every second and thank you to Emanuel and Maria for making our stay just the best.

Haven of peace and quiet!!
Stunning location, perfect if you want rest and relaxation. The house is lovely and the views are so beautiful. We really enjoyed having a private pool. We had a wonderful holiday here.and would love to visit again. Thanks again Emanuel for making us feel so welcome and letting us stay in your lovely house.

Lovely house, rural
Couldn’t ask for a better host, Emanuel is welcoming, helpful and friendly. Even helped when our car broke down, Emanuel called a friend who arranged to come and pick me up with all my groceries and take me back to the house, whilst my husband waited for the car hire recovery. This was an absolute godsend. Nice comfortable house, serviced half way through to a high standard. Pool area is lovely, fantastic views and great sunsets. Kitchen well equipped. Best supermarket Pingo Doce is in Calheta about 15 minutes drive. Down side of Madeira is that they don’t cater for vegetarian’s very well, except in Funchal where there are a couple of very good veggie restaurants. If you are looking for quiet and total privacy, then this is a perfect retreat. Thank You Emanuel.
