We visited several years ago and have been looking forward to returning. Very hot during our stay, but having the pool was perfect for cooling down. Having air-conditioning is a real help at night. Sophie and Spiros are the best hosts and have great local knowledge of the best beaches to visit and restaurants to enjoy. Car is essential to get the most out of the island. Looking forward to planning our return.

We have just returned from a week at Sophie Villas and have already booked next year as it is so good. Not only is the villa and pool lovely and well equipped (the views were beautiful) but Sophie and Spiros made the whole time so enjoyable: great information and so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We can't wait to go back. Their friends also run an excellent restaurant, Chefalonia, in a neighbouring village, which we ate at twice. A beautiful cove is just down the road and our favourite, Pessada, just 10 min. drive away, where we found amazing snorkeling and swam with turtles.

The villa is very well appointed and modern. It overlooks a beautiful mountain backdrop and is only 15 minutes from the airport. 5-10 minutes walk from a small beach with two tavernas and a beach bar. Sophie and Spiros and excellent hosts. Sophie made recommendations for places to eat and visit. They went out of their way to make sure we had total privacy and truly relaxed. It deserves its five star rating. We will return.

Had the pleasure of spending a couple of weeks at this great villa. quiet location which was exactly what was needed to recharge the batteries. The villa was clean, exceptionally well equipped and well decorated with a fantastic air con system, which given how hot the weather during our stay was a godsend!. The pool was the perfect size for a party of six such as ours. And as for Sophie and Spiros? you couldn't ask for two better hosts, when we arrived we received a warm welcome and Sophie was brilliant in pointing out good places to visit/eat on the map for our stay. Spiros was always good for a chat in the morning when he was cleaning the pool and we were also treated to some freshly picked peaches a couple of mornings too!. To summerise, I don't think I can recommend this villa, or the owners enough if you're looking for a relaxing holiday, they are the people to call!

We are on our way home from a 2 week stay at villa Sophie. We had an amazing time and explored the island and found lots of little gems due to the great information we received from Sophie. The house is spacious with open plan lounge and kitchen and 2 bedrooms plus bathroom upstairs and a separate studio downstairs which we didn’t use but would be perfect when travelling with older kids or parents. The garden and pool are wonderful and Spiros and Sophie are around early every morning to water the plants and look after the pool. It was such a pleasure to get to know them and we will plan our next visit to Kefalonia soon as the island is still very unspoiled and so many places left to visit. Merci for all your advice Sophie and Spiros. I am sure we will meet again ! Highly recommend this place. The local beach and taverna are 7/10 min down the hill and the supermarkets and Argostoli 20 min drive. You do need a car as there is plenty to do and see!! We used Greekstones for our car rental as suggested by Sophie and were very happy with the service.

There is no mystery as to why there are so many five-star reviews on here. The accommodation is comfortable, tastefully decorated and furnished, well-maintained and spotlessly clean. We had everything we needed in terms of kitchen equipment. Our garden was private, with no one overlooking the pool; in the background you have a fine view of the Aenos mountain framed in an azure sky The pool itself provided welcome respite from the heat: the water is non-chlorinated with an advanced filtration system (not compatible with suntan oils or pigmented tanning products, but fine with suntan creams, if I have understood correctly) meaning that your hard earned suntan doesn't get bleached every time you have a swim to cool down. There were six comfortable sun loungers and a large parasol. Extra shade was provided by a mature olive tree. We enjoyed taking most of our meals on the patio in front of the pool (a barbecue is available). Do make sure that you have some mosquito repellent for the evenings, if you are going to be sitting out. Despite being in Kefalonia for two weeks, we did not do a great deal of driving. There are lots of gorgeous beaches in this part of the island. Thomas beach is only 10 minutes’ walk away: this can get a little busy (it is a pretty, but quite compact cove, with good snorkelling); there is a daytime taverna, an evening seafood restaurant and an excellent bar with lovely views out to sea. A much longer beach is available at Trapezaki (20 minutes walk away) which also has a superb taverna. I’m sure that Sophie will give you further recommendations, including the less touristy gems, off the beaten track. The main town of Argostoli is only a 20 minute drive away, with plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants and extremely pleasant waterside walks. In addition to the local shops in Karavados, there are three good-sized supermarkets (including a Lidl) around 10 minutes’ drive away. Finally, I have to say that Sophie and Spiros were wonderful and generous hosts who could not have done more to make us feel welcome and to make our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. I really hope that we see you again, as we are sure to return to this beautiful island!

We had the most amazing week in Villa Sophie in Karavados. The villa is in the most beautiful and peaceful location and yet within easy access of the airport, great restaurants and places to visit. Sophie and Spiros were extremely welcoming and spent time telling us where to visit and eat. They also gave us onions, lettuce, garlic and apricots from their garden! The villa has stunning mountain views and is the perfect place for total relaxation. The location is very private, ensuring total peace and quiet. Perfect! And the private pool came in very handy to cool us down! Sophie and Spiros came early every morning to tend to the gardens and clean the pool so the place was immaculate. A week was not long enough for us and we will definitely be back.

Villa Sophie is a fantastic place to stay as so many have already said. We stayed as a family of four with kids who are 2 and 4. The swimming pool was great, with steps leading down my 2 year old could sit at the top of the steps and paddle around whilst my 4 year old swam with floats. (There are a fair few wasps and mosquitos though, so I would advise anyone to take repellants and Anthisan cream just in case!) They have plenty of pool toys and Sophie lent us a parasol to take along to the beautiful beaches. She advised us well on family friendly beaches and restaurants. Spiros was there every morning to water the plants and clean the pool and gave us apricots from the trees. All in all, Sophie and Spiros are very friendly, lovely hosts and I would recommend Villa Sophie to anyone who wants to visit Kefalonia.

We spent 10 nights at Villa Sophie with our 3 young children and it was even better than expected. Sophie and Spiros were so welcoming and helpful, bringing us fresh vegetables from their garden and providing lots of local tips. All of the beaches and tavernas that we visited were recommendations from Sophie, and we were never disappointed! The location of the villa is very good - only 10 mins drive from the airport, 10 mins walk to a nice local beach and easy driving distance to lots of other beautiful beaches. It also has beautiful views of the mountains. We enjoyed eating on the balcony, as well as lots of long afternoons in the pool and garden, which are even nicer than in the photos. We loved Kefalonia and Villa Sophie and will definitely be back!

We stayed at Villa Sophie for two weeks in August. It was our first holiday as a family of four. Myself, my husband and our two little boys age 4yr and 9 weeks! The booking process was easy and Sophie quickly answered any questions I had. Sophie helped us hire a car through greekstone who where very good and reasnobly priced. We flew easyJet on the early morning flight. Once arriving at the airport our luggage was quick to arrive and we where off quickly, greekstones met us from the airport. Villa Sophie is about 15 mins drive from the airport. There are two or three supermarket nearby. I wouldn't bother with lidls, the supermarket opposite is much better. The villa was so clean and well stocked, the pool was immaculate. Sophie and Spiros are so lovely, they made us feel like family. Nothing was too much bother for them. We found the closest beach Agios Thomas stunning but not very easy to do with a 9 week old. Lourdes , a short drive away is perfect for families. We drove to several of the nearby restaurants and found them all very good, we didn't have a bad meal. I would only say that if you go to happiness be prepared for a long wait for anything (eg 50 mins for somebody to bring the bill) We absolutely loved Kefalonia and villa Sophie and hope to return one day.
