Het huisje heeft een mooie ligging bij het meer. Echter, het is smerig, er hingen nog handdoeken van de vorige bezoekers. Kasten overvol met eigen spullen van de vorige bewoner. Open dozen eten in een kamer, koelkast vol met rotzooi en er was geen enkele kast beschikbaar voor kleding dus alle kleding verplicht in je koffer houden. Wasbak in badkamer was verstopt, dus ook niet te gebruiken en tot overmaat van ramp, de laatste dag geen water in het huis.
Nog een tip: de sleutel moest opgehaald worden, 40 km bij het huisje vandaan, niet echt praktisch. Beter als het in de buurt opgehaald kan worden

Beautiful place to stay for our perfect Iceland break!
We had never been to Iceland before and were super excited yet nervous of what adventure lied ahead of us. We booked our accommodation ourselves rather then through a travel agent and it was the best decision we made.
The lodge was like a home away from home. It was based in a beautiful spot which was easy to access. Our view of a morning was that of a pink sky reflecting on a lake surrounded by mountains. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and the owners Lisa and Haukar were so kind and caring and helped us in anyway possible.
We went to Iceland in the hopes of seeing the northern lights and Lisa would message us updates of the lights whereabouts.
We were extremely lucky to just walk out onto the decking area and look up and there they were! We spent one evening in the hot tub watching them.
We Would definitely stay in the lodge again and we have recommended it to our friends, family and co-workers. The lodge was so clean and tidy and felt like a family home. We had no issues getting comfy! The only negative part was leaving.
Thank you Lisa and Haukar for making our stay that much better!

Relaxing peaceful place with a spectacular view
The cottage has two buildings - one has a wonderful deck overlooking a lake, a full bath, fully equipped kitchen, one queen size bedroom, a small bedroom for children and nice sitting area. The second structure is ten steps away and has two bedrooms and a half bath. The cottage is in a rural area where you have a lot of privacy. Car is needed. When you first arrive it is best to do so in daylight because it may be difficult to find in the dark. The owners, Haukur and Anna-Lisa, are very nice and helpful. The cottage is very cozy, warm and comfortable in all possible ways. We would like to return again and stay longer.

wir hatten einen sehr schönen 3-wöchigen aufenthalt in haukurs und lisas cottage.
es liegt wunderbar ruhig fast direkt am see und man hat einen herrlichen blick.
beide sind engagierte gastgeber und es empfiehlt sich auch, sie rechtzeitig nach einem mietwagen zu fragen.
dis hütte ist schlicht und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. wlan funktionierte einwandfrei. schade, daß es (noch) keine waschmaschine gab. man sollte also ausreichend wäsche zum wechseln mitnehmen oder eben im waschbecken waschen.

Feel like home
The cottage is a great place to relax. It is such a cosy atmosphere, you immediately feel like at home.
Haukur is a great host. He made sure that we feel comfortable and that we have everything to enjoy our time.

We enjoyed 4 nights in this lovely "home from home" which has everything you need for a perfect self-catering base to explore all the magic that Iceland has to offer. Well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, spacious but cosy sitting room with log fire, and wonderful hot tub on the balcony with stunning views. Haukur and Anna Lisa are lovely hosts who went above and beyond to be friendly and helpful, with lots of advice on places to visit, eat, shop, etc. The location next to the lake and mountains is amazing, and just far enough off the beaten track to be quiet and peaceful, without being too far from many of the major attractions. We cannot recommend this lovely place highly enough, and we hope to stay there again some time, perhaps with family and for longer. It really is an absolute gem! PS I really love all the "rock houses" in the garden!

Lovely place, you will need a 4 x 4 in the winter months.
Cottage very nice, would say it's a 4 birth with 2 x small children, older kids wouldn't fit in the little bunks.

Beautiful Family Cottage
We stayed two nights in this beautiful cottage. Such a homely place with beautiful hand made craft throughout. The spa was amazing lovely hot water out in the cold night air. The cottages are spaced quite a distance apart so plenty of privacy. All the kitchen equipment on hand to cook a meal. No issues checking in lovely welcome would love to go back. We missed the reception the first time but did find it. Too busy looking at the scenery! The cottages are about 400m past in the reception sign. Definitely recommend.

Lovely Cottage
To anyone looking for a quiet get away in beautiful scenery this is the place for you! The owners are extremely helpful and approachable as well which really helped us out and made everything much easier.

Marvellous en peaceful
We arrived in the afternoon and were greeted by the owner....
Such a nice man.
Gave us some local tips and interesting things to see and do around the cottage.
if you like peace an quiet (like we do) it's heaven.
Besides the horses, cows and sheep who can wake you in the morning it's all birds, wind, occasional rain you hear.
The cottage has all you need for a pleasant stay.
Plenty of hot water straight from the hot water spring in the neighbourhood.
Great place to start excursions from, because still centrally located, which we did.
You do need a car, distances are big.
The main road circles the island,most other roads are okay to drive on depending on the weather.
We are planning to come back in Spring/Summer to see the difference in landscape.
