Coombe Dene is right in the centre of Bampton, and offers newly refurbished, spacious, well-appointed self-catering accommodation for up to six people. Within a short walk of shops, pubs and restaurants, Coombe Dene has a well appointed kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Eat in the cosy dining room and then relax in our comfortable living room. Superfast, secure, unlimited broadband is included in the rental price.
A small enclosed courtyard with table and chairs opens from patio doors in the kitchen. The four bedrooms include a double on the ground floor. Amazing find to stay!
Brilliant house to stay in, hosts were very accomodating and had the house all set for our arrival. Beds were comfy and all the bits needed in the kitchen and around the house had been thought of.

Lovely, spacious and individual house
As a family of six, we found this house to be lovely, spacious and well equipped with everything you may need whilst away.
We have four children ranging from three to fourteen and the house was big enough to accommodate children plus adults with enough room for everyone, and everyone with ample space for themselves.
The house has four bedrooms ( or another sitting room if not used as a bedroom) and four bathrooms. if you have a large family or in a group, this is very welcome indeed, especially getting ready in the mornings. The back double bedroom has an en suite which is so useful and handy.
The house has a living room and dining room with a big table seated for six, it also has a small kitchen table. There is a useful utility area... good for putting your shoes/boots in and a further bathroom with a bath. The kitchen is spacious and has a dishwasher, which again is another necessity with a large family, and all the usual utensils you would need.
There is a small courtyard off the kitchen which has a table and chairs which is perfect for having a glass of wine in the evening. There is no garden, but we found that as we were out most of the day we didn’t really need a garden as such.
There is an essential washing machine situated in an alcove area off the hallway,
We loved the situation of the house which is in the middle of the town of Bampton. You step out of the front door and you have all the essential shops a couple of minutes walk away including butchers, Cost Cutter, Spar, Chip shop and a fantastic bakery.
There is also a lovely coffee shop called The Toucan and the owners were very welcoming.
There are lots of pubs to choose from and a restaurant on nearly opposite the house. We had a meal in the White Horse which the kids had properly made Italian pizzas made by the chef who also owns it. Further along in to the town is a little park for younger children and many walks around the area.
Catherine and Peter the owners, were very accommodating and upon Our arrival We were greeted with a delicious carrot cake and bottle of wine, which needless to say went down very well.
All information about the area is provided for in folders, and leaflets about the area and Devon are supplied . If you have any enquiries or queries you only need to text or email and they will get back to you.
Bampton is a very friendly small town, we found that everyone passed the time of day and spoke with us which we found to be very welcoming.
The house and area are situated near to Dartmoor, which is a beautiful area and Of which it is easy to explore other areas of Devon too. Being mid Devon you have the advantage of being able to drive over to Minehead, Lynton and Lynmouth via Dartmoor or further along to Woolacoombe or Ilfracombe or go to the other side of Devon such as Dawlish, Exmouth or The English Riviera .
All in all we had a lovely week in August despite the inclement weather, but made the most of it a enjoyed what Bampton and Devon has to offer.
