This awesome designer apartment is located in one of the very few prime waterfront locations on the Spanish Water in the popular and upmarket Jan Thiel area. The apartment is part of the La Maya Beach Resort, an intimate boutique small-scale gated boutique beach resort with its own private beach for only 34 condominiums. It has onsite resort managers and this privately owned apartment has its own personal concierge/assistant/manager who will manage all your needs and will meet & greet you at the resort upon arrival. It is situated in an amazing architect designed tropical garden, featuring 2 large infinity swimming pools, palapas and a private white sand beach, with stunning views overlooking the Spanish Water and Marina. This apartment has lots of privacy and spectacular views of the Ocean, Spanish Water and Marina. The apartment, with high 14 foot ceilings, is the most upgraded, most modern and high tech in the resort and has been built with multiple upgrades such as a high quality European kitchen cupboards with a high gloss finish, stainless steel European appliances (incl. dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, convection microwave etc) and stone bench tops. The apartment has a super large kitchen island/dining table with bar stools and state of the art bathroom fixtures (2 bathrooms and another separate toilet) including a luxurious Hans Grohe Raindance 6 jetted massage shower tower with Monsoon rain shower head. The kitchen is fully equipped with all small appliances you can possibly wish for (espresso machine, blender, electric kettle, meat grill, sandwich press, 4 slice toaster, tosti maker, juicer, rice cooker and much more) This new condominium features air conditioning in both bedrooms and also in the living room (which is rare on Curacao), its own laundry room with washing machine and dryer. The apartment has lots of high tech features such as two LED TV's, free high speed WiFi internet access, cable TV with tons of channels, 40' LED/ LCD TV, Blu Ray player, IPOD music system, IPOD dock clock radio/alarm w/nature sounds, quality brand new furniture (incl. a leather couch with chaise), and high 14 foot ceilings. Feeling hungry? Launch your rented kayak from the private beach as it’s just a 3-minute kayak cruise or 5 min drive to two quality restaurants right on the marina. This is the ultimate lifestyle property! The apartment comes with a private reserved parking space in an architectural designed tropical garden within a gated resort, so it is very secure. On the beach, cocos- and date palms provide an enjoyable shade. Both luxurious swimming pools offer sunbathing terraces with lounger beds and palapas (parasols made out of palm leaves). Pure pleasure! About Jan Thiel/Brakkeput Abou/Spanish Water area Jan Thiel/Brakkeput Abou is a large area in Banda Riba. It includes residential areas and resorts such as Brakkeput Abou where La Maya Beach Resort is located. This apartment has spectacular views of the Spanish Water Lagoon, the Tafelberg and the Caribbean Sea. You will find several marinas and other amenities as well as popular beaches (Zanzibar), shops and restaurants in this area. The Spanish Water Lagoon is great for water sports such as sailing, windsurfing and water skiing/wake boarding. It is a short 20 minute drive from Jan Thiel/Brakkeput Abou to downtown Willemstad. Two fantastic supermarkets are nearby as well.

Beautiful place with only a few issues

Stayed in this exact unit at La Maya Beach Resort.. The location is great but beach is small, man made and not conducive to snorkeling as it is opposite a marina. The pool and grounds are awesome. Lots of cool lizards and pretty landscaping. The downsides are the electricity charges, which really add up. Just cooking will use most of a days ration, we only used the AC in the bedrooms, only at night, and still had to pay extra. The AC in master bedroom did not function as well as the spare bedroom and the management said they might look into it. We would love to come back here and stay, but would elect instead to go through the actual property management at Lamayabeach.com than this rogue owner who will not use there services and thus creates palpable animosity between the property management and the unit management. They have many units, some interconnecting, all with free AC usage. If you do use this one rogue unit, be sure to say HI to Marcel, the Owner/Manager, apologize for renting the wrong unit and you will get along well. He will even offer linen service so you don't run out of toilet paper (this unit comes with a half roll in each bathroom, that is it!) Also, the Wifi is very slow, don't expect to play any internet games. TV never really worked. At one point the unit manager send someone by who "fixed" it, it then got one channel only for 2 days before stopping working all together. That's OK, we didn't go to Curacao to watch TV!
