A 4000 sq ft Mediterranean styled palace in the sun, this three bedroom villa with one bedroom guest cottage and 150 feet of water frontage has brand new stainless steel appliances, living, and bedroom furniture. The views from this Tal Majal in the tropics are endless and are some of the best on the island. The master bedroom has beautiful wooden french doors that open up to its own terrace allowing you to read your favorite book while you bask in the ever present trade winds. Additionally,with a semicircular stone staircase that literally disappears into gin clear water in the rear of the villa, you have never been closer to the water.

Nice place to relax
I think they should update their pictures because they had to have been taken years before. The house needs some maintenance and a bit heavier cleaning. Don't get me wrong, i would stay again. The next time I would make sure we had a Jeep. The roads to the house are terrible.

Breath taking and Beautiful!!!!!
Amazing vacation and a trip of a life time. The house is so private and located in the best spot on the island. Amazing ocean breeze and loved our private access to the ocean. My family and kids felt so comfortable staying at the house. We plan on going back every year!

Beautiful place but the transaction is a little sketchy and privacy is a question
First the good -
The pictures don't do this place justice. It's absolutely stunning - well laid out, beautifully furnished, very well stocked kitchen. The views from most rooms are stunning. The separate outside master is like a private retreat. The kayaks were great fun for 2 at a time to explore the cays. Most of our time was spent on the covered back porch under the fans, which put out a nice breeze. The grill worked great and we cooked a few meals. Ivan, the home mgr, was an absolute joy and his cleaning crew very friendly.
The bad -
The transaction is super sketchy. Rented through VRBO, but owner doesn't allow payment through VRBO. Instead you have to provide a credit card AND pay 2.5% on top, so plan on shelling out a couple hundred more. This is against VRBO policy. When I questioned the owner on this, he threatened to void our reservation, so "pay or else..." The owner charges by the heartbeat, so each person will cost about $100/day extra. You also have to sign an additional rental agreement outside of VRBO + a $1k damage deposit. Get an SUV or something with ground clearance. The short road where the home is located is extremely rough (5mph). The home driveway is at a steep angle. We had to empty our van (only 4 of us) before entering or leaving because we scraped the bottom big time. It still scraped with just a driver. There are 3 kayaks, but only 2 sets of working paddles. While the furniture is beautiful, they're super uncomfortable. There's a question of privacy by the pool because there's a large pan-tilt-zoom camera looming over you at all times. Kind of creepy. There were dirty dishes in the oven and the dishwasher was covered in mold. We showed the cleaner, but they still didn't clean it. The guest house also smells of hidden mold. The other couple in our party wanted to stay there, but one was allergic to mold and started coughing every time she went in. You get a $100 credit towards power, but the owner has night lights on the front of the home, the carport and gate that run all night. You can't shut them off. We used the A/C only at night (worked great) and our usage was less than $100, so it was ok with us, but we were very conservative on all other power during our 1 week stay. Don't plan on any privacy on your last day. Even though you should have the home till 10am, the cleaning crew shows up by 8am - yip, while you're not fully dressed and before breakfast. They stay until checkout, so you really don't have any privacy on your last day.
Would we rent here again? Yes, but as nice as the home was, the transaction was a little slimy.

We thank you for your kind words. We strive to accommodate guests as best we can. We are not sure what you mean by charging by heartbeat but assume you mean we have a base rate and charge for additional guests. This is standard practice around the world. We provide a 100.00 dollar allotment of electricity to allow guests to decide how to use it judiciously. Electricity cost on island is prohibitive. Typical usage of electricity for a week is about 100.00. Cameras are exterior security cameras. Security deposit is also an industry standard. Road immediately in front of villa will be paved January/February 2020. There are three new kayaks on property and dishwasher malfunctioned and was replaced. House keeping is professional and we apologize for any invconvenience you may have experienced. A rental agreement is necessary to protect you and the villa.
