What a great find!

I love going diving in Cozumel. The previous times I had stayed at a hotel but this time I wanted to have more privacy and not have to be around so many tourists. Boy, I sure am glad I found Casa Kydove! This beautiful home was everything I was wishing for and then some. The condo is located in the last building of the complex, so I had no one walking outside. So very close to the beach and the pier where I was being picked up by the boat. The kitchen is great, I saved lots of cash by stocking up and not going out to eat (cabs charge about 20 USD round trip anywhere in town, plus restaurants are a bit expensive unless you are going to a taco place; and remember- I wanted to avoid crowds. The bed is lovely and so is the shower. The people who work at Reef Residences are very kind and helpful. This was my first time staying at Casa Kydove and it certainly will not be the last. I shall never pay for a hotel in Cozumel again. I would much prefer to help a homeowner than a big hotel chain. The administrator of Casa Kydove was even nice enough to let me wait for my dive stuff to be dry so I wouldn't have to pack and carry wet/damp stuff... My trip to Cozumel was the best one yet, made so because of my luck in finding Casa Kydove. Thank you so very much, I can't wait to return to this beautiful home!!

8270 Beautifully appointed and an excellent value!!

We have been diving in Cozumel for over 10 years, stayed at about 8 different places and this was by far our most relaxing and enjoyable stay. Dave and Lupita have thought of everything when appointing their "Fall in Love Condo" and we already want to book our next stay. I am a chef and conservation scuba diver and I was pleased to find everything and more in the gorgeous kitchen: full sized, new appliances, sharp santoku knives, a good blender for green smoothies, even tupperware. The tasteful decor, warm colored tones and ocean themed local art made us feel instantly at home, calm and happy. The unit is so well designed and A/C so efficient that we could adjust it to the warmest setting (30 C) and only run it for a few hours a day and it would be comfortable for the remaining time. Access to the rooftop solarium allowed for private yoga in the early morning and sunbathing, although the two clean pools were never crowded. The balcony for 8270 offered a nice view of pool and ocean, although there is no hot tub as mentioned. It is perfect for coffee in the morning and drinks in the afternoon without feeling hot, as it's shaded until 2:30. Also, I'd feel comfortable for storm season there. There was one brief bout of unseasonably rough weather, and while others were battening down the hatches in the 5000-6000 buildings, we watched the storm comfortably from our balcony because it's nicely protected. We were pleased to find many thoughtful touches, like thick soft beach towels, many sizes of coolers, snorkel gear, pool toys, and even chairs for a beach trip. We always dive with Papa Hogs and pick up at the Residencias/ Secrets dock greatly reduced boat time to our favorite reefs in the south, Palancar and Columbia. The drive into El Centro is about 12 km, so it's very convenient to rent a car from Rentadora Isis upon arrival. For just 35 bucks a day we got a VW-Gol with taxes and insurance included. With a car or scooter it's a quick trip for favorite eats like Relleños at La Choza, Pastores at Los Seras, Empeñadas at Del Sur and the new Italian place opposite Villablanca, (That's Amore) has excellent seafood and best ever Tiramisu. Between Chedraui and Mega food stores you'll find anything you'd want to cook, though Dave and Lupita have graciously provided plenty of staples to get on with including coffee, sugar, a few spices, a few beers and sodas and plenty of drinking water in a lovely decanter. If you're searching for the perfect vacation in Cozumel that checks off all of the boxes, LOOK NO FURTHER!!
