Beautiful
We stayed at the Plantation House for 10 days, and we did not want to leave. Every aspect of the whole apartment was well thought out to the smallest detail. It was gorgeous and functional at the same time. The large windows bring in light but do not make the space hot. The kitchen along with an apartment size refrigerator make cooking at home a real possibility. The owner was onsite multiple days and was available for any of our needs, but we had none because everything was perfect. The apartment was clean, I mean really clean. We loved it! We will be back at our next opportunity!!!!

Lovely apartment in ideal location
The apartment is tastefully decorated and located in an ideal location, just 1 block off the 5th Av and the beach. We were therefore able to walk to the shops, restaurants, the gym as well as to the beach. We didn't get a chance to chill/cool off in the pool or sit and relax in the very inviting verandah as we were too busy out and about. The verandah was very useful to dry off our laundry though. Francoise was around and was very helpful in sorting out a tour that we had booked.
We would definitely stay here again when we next visit PDC.

Excelente ubicación y atención de los dueños!!
Excelente departamento! La ubicación es espectacular. Está en uno de los mejores lugares de Playa del Carmen. Los dueños tienen un trato espectacular con los huéspedes. Siempre están pendiente de todo lo que puedas necesitar. El departamento está muy bien ubicado, tiene todo lo que puedas necesitar y más. Personalmente, es mucho más lindo y mejor que en fotos. Seguramente volveré a ir y a alojarme en el mismo lugar.

Highly recommended - this place is fantastic - great owners and lovely, helpful staff.
Plantation House truly is fabulous. The penthouse we were in really had the ‘wow’ factor - great design and tastefully decorated - with everything you could possibly want to make our stay in PDC one to remember fondly for years to come. Joe (the owner) was really helpful - great tips on where to go and how to get there. We loved the location also - a few minutes walk to the beach and to 5th Avenue. Many great food places within walking distance. I highly recommend a visit to the authentic Mexican ceramics shop, on the corner - a real treasure trove.
Our condo had a rooftop deck which was a real plus - great place to relax and watch the world go by. It was great having a washing machine, outdoor shower and clothesline on the deck as well.
Couldn’t fault Plantation House. If we lived closer to PDC (we’re from New Zealand) we would be returning to this place regularly.
Thanks to the staff also - lovely ladies, doing a great job!

Our 2nd Stay at Plantation House
We just wrapped up a two week stay at Plantation House, our 2nd. Obviously, we love it there! Both times we have stayed in St. Lucia (one of the penthouse suites with beautiful ocean views and gorgeous sunrises). We have peeked inside all six apartments at Plantation House. All look comfortable, inviting and are well equipped. We wouldn't hesitate to stay in any of them. We chose the penthouse for the ocean view, 2nd bathroom, and a wash machine. The stairs for us are a plus... a way to sneak in a little extra exercise. (A lift is available to bring up luggage.) Joe and Francoise are wonderful hosts, quick to resolve any issues and they provide great suggestions - out of the way restaurants, bakeries, beaches, Pilates classes. Hakima's massages are amazing. She teaches Pilates at a nearby boutique gym. Plantation house is close to the beach and Avenida Quinta, yet tucked away in a cute little neighborhood. We think it's the best spot in Playa. It's a short walk to hundreds of restaurants, beach clubs and even the town square. There are a few night clubs down the street, yet noise was minimal. I used earplugs just a couple of times and if we opted to close the windows and turn on the air, I would not have needed them.

Great Location
Plantation house is in the best location on a quiet street yet blocks to the beach.The shops and bars of 5th ave are just one block away.Joe,the owner was quick to reply to any needs we had.The only thing I would change would be the outside shower,it needed a little more privacy for a 66year old woman.I would stay here again but get an apartment on the first floor instead of the third floor.

We are happy to know you'll plan to return to our Plantation house. Just to clarify to our readers, this penthouse does have a private indoor shower :) The second shower on your private terrace, has a 3/4 round wall, providing privacy to the open terrace, but the open access may create a sense of freedom. I think I'll go take a look at adding a swinging door to close it off completely. keeping only the open blue sky above!
The third floor penthouses are accessible by stairs only. We do have an electric dumb waiter for our guest's luggage, or groceries. So you won't have to carry anything up!
We look forward to receiving you some day, in our ground floor Antigua suite, its also has many charms!

Stunning Penthouse in a fantastic location!
We LOVED our stay at the plantation house. We stayed in the Barbados penthouse. My degree is in architecture so I knew I wanted to stay here immediately when i saw it online. Everything about Plantation House exceeded my expectations. It is beautiful and every design aspect was just perfect. The rooftop terrace is amazing and spacious! Everything about the suite was phenomenal.
It was well equipped with everything you could need and had both bath towels and beach towels which is an added extra! There are even beach chairs and a cooler for you to use. It was immaculately clean and we felt very safe with the security the outer doors provided.
Joe and Francoise were fantastic hosts from the beginning. Very informative and responsive via email(within 10 minutes)! All of their directions to the house and how to get your keys were perfect. They even let us stay/hold our luggage in another suite after checkout because our bus didn't leave until 8pm at night! I really enjoyed that because I was able to enjoy the beauty of the St. Barts. suite as well! Another amazing room with a spectacular view! The pool was picturesque in the courtyard and we definitely used it to cool off a bit!
The location was perfect! It is a couple blocks from the beach and a couple blocks from the happening 5th Avenue. Any closer to 5th Avenue would probably be too loud for us!
You know it's a great place when it's hard to leave your room because it is so amazing!!

Quiet Oasis Convenient To Everything
We loved our accommodations in the Barbados Suite in the Plantation House. It is charming from the outside but a beautiful courtyard surprises you after you open the security door. The rooms have a Caribbean feel and are well appointed. The rooftop deck was private and had a great view. We met a few of the other guests and it gave the place a community feel. Also met the owners on our second day and they are so nice as well. Great stay. Definitely would come back.
