We had a great time in this lovely cottage for a week at Christmas. The Cottage is well situated in the small village of Carsington and the local pub is a couple of hundred yards down the lane. We also walked to Carsington Water, a huge reservoir nearby and well worth exploring.
The Cottage is very private behind the owners house with access to the gardens (bit soggy during our week). It has been beautifully furnished, rooms well designed and spacious. There was a Christmas tree all ready set up and decorated in the lounge, a lovely touch. The kitchen dinner was well equiped and a great area to all get together while Christmas dinner was prepared.
We found Ashbourne a good place to shop and an interesting town to look round, on Boxing Day we were there in time to see the local hunt gathering in the square for their stirrup cup,a colouful, very british sight.
All in all it's a great place to stay Plus
