Cycle retreat!
What an absolute gem of a find! This cottage is fantastic. Everything you could need inside, close to so many places to visit and yet a real country feel. We enjoyed cosying up in the evenings reading books in one of the snugs. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to people! The owner Miles was also brilliant. Little notes left round the place made it feel very personal and he was on hand (at the end of the phone) for any enquiries (not that we had any).
We have already recommended this place to friends and family and can’t wait to go back again.

Superb Sanctuary
A charming and cosy cottage for a relaxing getaway. It was so peaceful and exceeded our expectations.
All the mod cons and everything you need is provided. The woodburning stove was just perfect to help us dry off in this crazy weather!
The cycling theme runs throughout and was a lovely, unusual touch. Gorgeous garden with fantastic views.
It's in a good position to explore the Hampshire countryside and not far from amenities.
Thanks so much for making us feel welcome!

Beautiful cottage
Loved The Sanctuary - so comfortable & well thought out. Crammed with character /artwork. Set in beautiful countryside - great garden to relax in/BBQ. Book it if it’s available - it’s a lovely haven.

The perfect rural hideaway - olde worlde charm with all mod cons
A huge thank you to Miles & Caroline for allowing us to stay in their amazing cottage which is full of character, warmth and charm. If you're into cycling, either for real or from your armchair, this is the place to come! The cycle theme runs throughout the cottage from the amazing art work on the walls to the duvet covers to the pizza cutter! Lots of cycling themed reading matter as well, though other genres are catered for too! The small smattering of sheep related artefacts was appreciated too!
The cottage is a real rural hideaway, virtually in the middle of nowhere, but only a short drive from essential amenities and within easy reach of many tourist attractions. Our long weekend in the autumn and during a global pandemic meant that we were restricted on places to visit, but we enjoyed a lovely (wet!) walk on the Wayfarer's Way and a visit to Bishops Waltham, where the Bishops Palace was open and the sun shone! When we return for another visit, places like Hinton Ampner, Chawton - Jane Austen's home, the Watercress line (can't go on holiday without a ride on a steam train!), Portsmouth, the New Forest, Bournemouth and many picturesque villages will be on our list to visit.
The cottage is well equipped with so many small touches that make you immediately take a sigh of relief and start relaxing. Phone chargers in the bedrooms, radios and smart speakers everywhere, mirrors with a socket underneath for using a hairdryer (small detail but important!) Due to dietary restrictions in the family we do genuinely self cater and I am used to travelling with supplementary kitchen equipment, but there was no need to here, everything was supplied and it was all good quality stuff which all adds to to the ability to truly relax. The induction hob was especially wonderful inducing great jealousy!
We loved the wood burning stoves - something so different about that sort of heat and we were plenty warm enough despite the damp weather.
If I had to criticise anything it would be that the stairs are a little precarious - but the cottage is 200 years old (would love to know some more about its history)! However, something to bear in mind if you are elderly or infirm.
Our long weekend was not long enough so a return visit will be on the cards at some point and hopefully when the world has returned to some sort of normality, but even during level 1 restrictions in the autumn, this cottage provided the 'circuit breaker' from the troubles of the world that we so desperately needed. Thank you once again Miles and Caroline.

Perfect Sanctuary
A delightful and quirky cottage virtually in the middle of nowhere - just what we wanted.
It is well appointmented with good road links to all the routes in that part of the world. Nowhere was very far and it met all our travel/access needs. It was great to get back to and be able to shut the doors on the world.
The cottage was well equipped and has a lovely garden which was just what we wanted. It had a very homely feel and it was not like your average holiday let. When we stayed at the cottage it was nice weather and we were not cold, although there is an amply supply of seasoned wood and 2 wood burning stoves, one heats the radiators we believe.
Three things to note, none are criti sms but might me useful to others-
1) The mobile phone signal is very weak (conversely the WiFi signal was good).
2) The ceilings, particularly the doorways were low. I, being tall and often forgetting, hit my head a few times. Whilst definitely not a "Hobbit House, this might be an issue for some.
3) As the name suggests the cottage is heavily cycle themed. This wasn't a problem for us, in fact we quite liked it (quirky and tasteful), it may not be everyone's cup of tea.

The mobile signal is best in the upstairs main bedroom. Yes, if you suffered from Cyclephobia, it's definitely not the place to stay :-) Thanks for being such lovely guests.

Amazing cottage
We had such a lovely time staying here. Absolutely everything we needed and the owners were really helpful. The bike theme is so impressive. Would definitely like to go back.

A wonderful property, perfect for exploring the Hampshire countryside, the South Coast or the New Forest
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Cycle Sanctuary, using it as a base to explore the wonderful Hampshire countryside and taking day-trips to the coast. The facilities at the property were fantastic, and with the very warm weather, we made good use of the garden and the covered patio area (perfect for BBQs and eating outside). We really enjoyed the various "snugs" around the cottage, giving us all a chance for some peace and quiet when we needed it. We'd love to return one day.

Perfect base for exploring Winchester and the South Downs
One of the best equipped cottaged I've ever stayed in and more than spacious enough for two couples and an under 5.
In a quiet spot surrounded by rolling green countryside but close to great pubs and minutes from the amenities of Winchester.
And if you like cycling you'll love the decor and the reading material.

Weekend Stay to attend a Family Party
Totally terrific place.
The house is absolutely perfect for any kind of usage, family or friends.
WE had an amazing time and would certainly return in the future.
