Amazing holiday and amazing hosts!!
We have just returned as a group of 5 couples from a trip to La Portette and had a fabulous time. The chalet was very beautiful and in a quiet location which suited us perfectly. Liza and Andy were amazing hosts and very accommodating to ensure that we had a great stay. The home cooked food and cakes were delicious! We would love to return again in the future!

Home from home
We had an absolutely fantastic stay this year. Our second year in a row with Liza and Andy. The chalet could not feel more homely and the food was just delicious. The location is just superb, quiet, relaxing etc. There was plenty of games etc for the children and we really did feel like we were staying at a friends rather than a rented chalet.
I cannot speak highly enough of Andy, Liza and Chalet Portette! I dare say we will be back again! BRAVO!

Wonderful stay in a fantastic chalet with amazing food and service
I have stayed in La Portette a number of times now and it is still my favourite place to stay in the Alps! The food and service from Andy and Liza are wonderful. It is a beautiful chalet with stunning views over the valley towards Mont Blanc. It is a very comfortable place, especially around the big sofas in the communal living area. It is a few minutes drive away from the pistes, but the hosts are always happy to drive you there - it has never felt like an inconvenience. On this trip, we did some snow shoeing around Montchavin and some cross country skiing in Peisey-Vallandry. I would love to go back again soon!

Rustic Village with access to superb skiing.
A gorgeous old chalet nestled in a rustic farming village. The views from the comfortable open plan loft living area are stunning, including the south face of Mont Blanc. Although not directly connected to the Paradiski lift system, it is a short 2 min drive to the lifts, Liza and Andy (the owners) are always happy to drive to, and pick up from the lifts, which give access to the middle of a huge, varied ski area. Liza produced fantastic cakes each afternoon to welcome us back, whilst evening meals and breakfast were excellent. It’s the second time I have stayed there with a 4 year gap, and I have not been disappointed.

Perfect Chalet Experience
We have just returned from our 2nd visit to La Portette.
On our visit this time we were cared for by the owners Liza and Andy who welcomed us back like old friends.
Liza’s cooking really is amazing from the plentiful breakfasts of croissants, cereals, bacon, eggs and freshly made pancakes, literally every breakfast item is on offer! Deliciously fresh home made cakes were waiting each day on our return from the slopes, and on New Years Day a fabulous birthday cake for Oscars 7th birthday. Each evening the wine was plentiful to accompany hearty 3 course dinners, just what we needed after a days skiing. Liza also made ‘Potato Dauphinoise’ after hearing it was a favourite of my hubby.
La Portette has a wonderfully rustic charm and along with the cosy log fire the Christmas tree added a real festive feeling to our stay.
The chalet is very spacious, we were a party of 3 families 11 in total and we were extremely comfortable in the 6 bedrooms, with a few beds going spare!
Liza and Andy are great hosts who will do anything to ensure you enjoy your stay with them.
We look forward to returning for a 3rd time!!!

The warmest of welcomes
Liza and Andy were the most welcoming and accommodating of hosts. All our needs were more than looked after and Liza kept us all very well fed(including a couple extremely fussy eaters!). If you're looking for the comfort of a home from home but with the services of a 5 star hotel then you won't be disappointed.

Return Visit
We had another fantastic time at La Portette. This charming, cosy chalet soon makes you feel comfortably at home. Owners Andy and Liza were always on hand to help our stay go smoothly. Chalet hosts Winston and Charlotte served up tasty meals and couldn’t do enough for us. The Skiing and Snowboarding at Monchavin didn’t disappoint. Thanks again from our very happy family of six.

Charmingly cosy comfortable chalet.
The location is amazing providing stunning views from the chalet. The chalet is very comfortable.Owners Andy and Liza couldn't do more to help you make the most of your stay. Chalet hosts Tom and Charlotte fed and looked after us exceptionally well. The resort offers amazing skiing for all abilities. Highly recommend for a very relaxing stay.

Tremendous
I don’t normally do reviews, but for this chalet I had to make an exception.
What better way to start your day than breakfast with a view of the mountains and the sun just hitting the top of Mont Blanc.
Tremendous. Nothing too much trouble. Transfers, ski passes, anything you want help with, Liza’s an expert.
Excellent food, relaxing environment, dropped off and picked up at the lifts. The most difficult thing you’ll have to do, is decide whether to go left to Les Arc or right to La Plagne. Both ski areas are easily accessed from this location.

Amazing,amazing,amazing
Wasn't going to write a review as wanted to keep this place a secret but that wouldn't be fair.
If like me you research everything, check everything a million times, worry that you booking the right accomadation, flights, transfers, ski hire, lessons, lift passes and then research it all again. Well this is the place for you.
Lisa will help you with everything, point you in the right direction with who to use.
The highlight apart from the great snow and location was our hosts Dan and Bessie. So laid back but totally on it. Nothing to much trouble.
Ski hire fitted us out at the accomadation and they text us most days to see if anything needs changing. You have a 5 min transfer in morn on bus with Dan each morn when you ready and when you ready to come off the slopes just give Lisa or Dan a ring. Easy.
Great food and lots of it. Unlimited drinks, not just whilst you are eating dinner!
Highly recommended and hope to return next year
