Uno splendore
La villa è fantastica, su due livelli, in un contesto silenzioso e sicuro, l'ideale per rilassarsi. Noi eravamo in 5, due famiglie, e ognuno aveva i propri spazi. Non manca proprio niente, dotata di ogni comfort. I proprietari sono persone gentilissime e squisite, non ci hanno fatto mancare veramente nulla. Stare qui vale da solo il viaggio. Non mi sono mai trovata meglio! Grazie di cuore

Fabulous family holiday
We recently stayed at Salento stone cottage with our 2 adult sons and one partner. A fabulous family time together. The house is spacious and the best room is the upstairs bedroom which has views to the sea. Great outdoor areas for eating al fresco. Elisabetta and Pierangelo were wonderful hosts and we received an amazing welcome hamper on arrival with beautiful biscuits, olive oil, wine etc. A lovely surprise. Need a car there to get around. The local swimming spot is the Aquaviva which is about a km walk down and uphill obviously on way back but it is fine. It is a beautiful place to swim. A great spot to explore the beautiful region of Puglia.

Wunderschönes großes Haus mit Meerblick
Wir durften hier zu viert zwei Wochen verbringen. Ich halte mich schon für sehr anspruchsvoll, aber dieses Haus hat uns nicht enttäuscht. Es fehlt an nichts und das was fehlt besorgt der Vermieter umgehend. Das Haus besteht aus zwei Ebenen. Davon ist die untere etwas älter als die obere, die offensichtlich nachträglich gebaut wurde. Alles top sauber. An allen Fenstern sind Fliegengitter verbaut, die Klimaanlage funktioniert einwandfrei. Gute Betten sorgen für einen erholsamen Schlaf. Super ist die Geräumigkeit, sowohl drinnen als draußen. Von der Dachterasse hat man einen phantastischen Blick auf das Meer und Castro. Da das Haus in einer abgeschlossenen Anlage liegt, hört man keinen Straßenverkehr. Die nahen Bademöglichkeiten sorgen für einen perfekten Tag. Kurz: was will man mehr, können wir blind empfehlen.

Beachside Beauty
Stayed 4 nights in mid April. The cottage is very spacious, comfortable, clean and self-contained. Just minutes away by car, from the quaint and interesting port of Castro Marina. However, the standout for my husband and I was the picturesque Acquaviva, an ideal place for an early morning dip in the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea. A most relaxing stay. A big, big thank you to Elisabetta and Pierangelo - the ultimate hosts.

An April escape in Salento!
We wrote this review on our final day at Pierangelo and Elisabetta's lovely villa near Castro. We started the day with breakfast on the terrace, looking out over the Adriatic and then we moved to the shady lower level to enjoy the filtered sunlight and spring fragrances. It is a very special place...difficult to leave. A few years ago, when we stayed at Elisabetta's amazing B&B in Lecce, she told us about her plans for this villa. We knew it would be a "labour of love" for her, and we knew we would return to Puglia, so we kept her villa in our minds. Then, when some of our friends expressed an interest, we contacted Elisabetta to arrange a week-long stay in mid-April. Two couples joined us, for 3-4 days each, and all three couples were here for two of those nights. (Each couple had a chance to enjoy the "room with a view" on the upper terrace.) It was very comfortable, even with six people, and Elisabetta got us started with one of her famous baskets of local treats, including some wonderful marmalade and limoncello. As other reviews indicate, the villa is in a private, secluded area, between Castro and Marittima. Groceries, shops and restaurants are a short drive away, so we enjoyed both cooking together and dining out. At this time of year (April), the scenic coastal road north to Otranto and south to Santa Maria di Leuca was a pleasure to drive, and our cyclist friends loved it.The villa also positioned us well for day trips to local archaeological treasures (Cripta di s. Maria deli Angeli, in Poggiardo), frescoed churches (Santa Catarina d'Alessandria, in Galatina) and prehistoric menhirs and dolmens (near Giurdignano). There is so much to explore in this region, and we found mid-to- late April a perfect time to come. Throughout our stay, we enjoyed the warm and sincere attention of Pierangelo (who met us and oriented us to everything) and Elisabetta (who was always so quick and warm and responsive from the time of our booking right through to this, our final day.) This is a wonderful holiday setting in a fascinating area of Apulia - the Salento. We know we will return - to enjoy the rich cultural history, the celebrations, the cuisine...and the exceptional hospitality of our hosts. Lon & Val & friends from Canada

highly recommended - Lovely house in quiet location, nr beach and small town
Overall a wonderful place to stay and highly recommended. The owners are lovely and were there to show us around the house and the local area on arrival. If you are looking for a place for 5-6 people in Salento then this is a perfect base to explore the local area: - closest town is Marritima (approx 1.5km) which is a nice small lively town with just a few bars and restaurants, pharmacy, grocers, butchers and perfect for an evening drink or meal. Best restaurant - Taverna Vecchio - closest beach (approx 1.2km - walkable on way down, but on way back you'll need to focus hard on the beer/wine and the lovely terrace waiting for you back at the house!) is a lovely small bay with rocky cliffs, places to sit and a little cafe. The water is clear with lots of fish, but the water is very, very cold in pockets as it is fed from underground springs - our favourite places nearby: Marina Serra for beach and snorkelling (this is where we found the most fish in Salento); Tricase Porto for evening meal and boat trips (25 euros / person for 3-4hrs trip to caves - highly recommended boat in harbour with a kiosk on main road) Specchia - inland town with lovely shops, bars and a bakery Castro - whilst the port is very busy and touristy, the old town on the hill is very beautiful with 2 squares with bars and restaurants and a great view of the coast. The evening aperitivo in the enoteca on the smaller second square is recommended. Marritima - for an evening drink or a very cheap meal Good points: - layout of house and garden is wonderful. There are lots of places to sit at different times of the day to either take in or hide from the sun; the garden is small but well stocked with lovely fresh basil and mint and the evening smell of bougainvillaea; outdoor shower available to cool down in the day - secure private residence with lots of small houses but the house is not overlooked and there was no other noise from neighbouring houses or from traffic - the location is very peaceful - welcome pack of food is a lovely, generous touch as is the offer of towels/linen/toiletries/etc - kitchen is small but well appointed, with coffee makers, microwave, hob, sink, fridge/freezer (note, no oven but we didn't find we needed one) and a washing machine - there are 3 beds downstairs, but the best room is the house is the independent studio on the top floor with a double bed and ensuite. This was the perfect hideaway for our teenager, but would be even better for the parents or a couple! Bad points: - you will need a car, but if you are travelling around Puglia you will have one anyway - intermittent water pressure and electrical issues, but again not a major issue Thank you very much, we enjoyed our time in Salento very much.

PERFETTA OSPITALITA'
Villa molto bella e comoda vicina a Castro e ad una delle più belle calette del Salento: Acquaviva. Il mese di settembre è meraviglioso per visitare il Salento in quanto i turisti diminuiscono e le piccole spiaggie e calette possono essere frequentate senza problemi. Purtroppo questa estate il tempo non è stato dei migliori ma siamo stati comunque molto bene. Dal terrazzo della villa si gode una vista sul mare perfetta e si può prendere comodamente il sole. A poca distanza dalla villa si trova Marittima un bel paesino con tutto quello che occorre (negozi, supermercato, bancomat, ristoranti.......) Il posto è molto silenzioso ed appartato. Un grazie particolare va soprattutto ad Elisabetta e Pierangelo, meravigliosi proprietari sempre disponibili ed attenti ad ogni necessità dei loro ospiti. Grazie per tutto ed a presto Rosalba ed i suoi amici

NOS ENCANTÓ
Es una casa dentro de una comunidad, pero con mucha privacidad. La parte de arriba está espectacular, han hecho una nueva habitación con baño que disfruta de una terraza maravillosa con vistas. Tiene mosquiteras y aire acondicionado. Nos costó mucho encontrar casa en Salento, porque todo lo que veíamos era bastante feo. Hemos tenido suerte al encontrar esta. Pierangelo fue un anfitrión de excepción, siempre disponible y encantador. La zona no tiene playas de arena, Para ello hay que cruzar a la otra costa (oeste) y son maravillosas. Aquí son todo rocas, y a pesar de la decepción inicial, nos fue gustando cada vez más. Gastronomía local fantástica, a precios muy atractivos. Vale la pena visitar el Salento, hay muchos pueblos que vale la pena visitar, y Castro es una buena base. Grazie Elisabetta e Pierangelo! ;-)

tanta pace in un posto incantevole
La villa si trova all'interno di una parco in cui vi sono numerose altre ville , ma si è attorniati dal verde e le case quasi scompaiono tra la vegetazione. Posto molto tranquillo , bella casa . ottima accoglienza dei proprietari molto discreti e gentili .La zona è incantevole , il mare pulitissimo. adatto soprattutto per chi ama gli scogli ed è un esperto nuotatore . comunque se si cercano spiagge di sabbia basta spostarsi o verso Otranto o raggiungere le località sul mar ionio , entrambe le zone si raggiungono in una quarantina di minuti

très agréable
Nous revenons tout juste des Pouilles, nous avons passé une dizaine de jours au Salento Stone cottage. La maison est totalement conforme au descriptif, et donc très agréable. Elle est située dans une résidence mais aucun vis-à-vis, la maison est entourée d'arbres fleuris. Jolie vue sur la mer depuis la terrasse du haut. Voiture impérative, mais pour sillonner les Pouilles avec des enfants petits, il en faut une de toute façon. Elisabetta et Pierangelo, les propriétaires, sont adorables. Bref, à conseiller !
