We chose Casa Fondamente Nuove, from the number of positive reviews we read and from our initial contact with the owner Elisa. We had a two bedroom apartment right on the water overlooking the bay at Cannaregio. It was close to the ferry stop of F.Te Nove “A”. & was set out nicely, was very comfortable with every thing you need for both a short or long stay, it is a quiet & beautiful part of Venice island, away from the crowds, but only a short walk from St Marks Square, the ferry stops, very accessible to the train station and airport. The coop supermarket is 10 minutes away & fruit stall 5 minutes. Plenty of bars, resturants, trattorias all around. Elisa was a great host, providing us with tips and suggestions for making our stay very memorable. We cannot recommend Casa Fondamente Nuove enough and would happily stay there again.

The apartment is well equipped and has everything you need.Elisa was a wonderful hostess and very responsive.She shared her local knowledge of places to visit,pastry shops,bakery ,restaurants.The apartment is close to the water boat station and has beautiful views of the lagoon. Most places are a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment.We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this apartment.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Elisa's apartment in Venice. It's a perfect location, away from the crowd, beautiful view, a stone throw away from the boat buses and 10 minutes walk to any destination. The apartment is clean and comfortable. If you're planning to stay in Venice, I highly recommend staying here.

We enjoyed an absolutely amazing time in Elisa's apartment. It's in the beautiful suburb of Canneregio - which is just far away enough from the touristic crowds of Venice to enjoy some peace and quiet, but close enough that you can be in the thick of it within minutes. It is next to a Vaparetto stop (water taxi) which made getting there from the airport easy, as well as getting to the train station to leave. The apartment itself has everything you could possible want - aircon, washing machine, iron, tv, dishwasher, wifi etc. It was plenty big enough for our family of 4 and you could easily fit another 2 people in there comfortably. Elisa, our host was so lovely and very generous in her local knowledge of Venice. She showed us her favourite places to eat, drink and watch Venice go by, not to mention the insider's tip for a very cheap Gondola ride ;) If we ever come to Venice again, we will definitely stay here again. Thank you Elisa for an unforgettable visit!

The apartment was central and next to the waterboat station. It was very clean and furnished to a very high standard. Elisa was lovely and very helpful. I would definetly recommend this apartment

Although a sad rainy day was there to welcome us as we were landing in Venise, we were really pleased to discover Elisa’s flat: you find there everything a family of five could need, from the Italian coffee machine to a chocolate rabbit for our 3 kids! Elisa was there to explain us all we need to know about Venise, restaurants where to go, things to see and how to go there. The appartement is also well located: just 2 minutes walk from the neerest vaporetto stop, only 30 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes walk from Saint Mark’s place.

This apartment is comfortable and immaculately clean, smack dab on the lagoon at the Fondamente Nove ferry stop, overlooking the San Michele island. The view is stunning and the apartment is incredibly quiet. It is out of the busy crazy touristy area, which is about a 10 minute walk away. We did not want to be in a touristy part of the city, and this apartment was exactly what we were looking for. There are a number of good restaurants in close proximity, along with a bakery and supermarket. The ferry stop is very convenient, as there are a number of lines that stop there that can bring you all over Venice. We loved dealing with the owner, Elisa, who lives in the apartment above. She was extremely helpful and responsive. The kitchen was immaculately clean and well equipped with all kinds of utensils and table ware. She also stocked it with coffee which we really appreciated. Her great advice was also very useful. What a gracious host! It was also very convenient to reach from the airport. Take the Alilaguna Blue line to Fondamente Nove and the apartment is right there. We are so glad that we had a chance to stay at this tranquil, clean, comfortable apartment. A perfect stay!

Thank you, Elisa, for having us at your amazing apartment. We stayed for two nights (too short!) and the apartment and Elisa's hospitality was excellent. Elisa took the time to meet us at the boat dock (and she had to wait for us longer because we took the wrong boat initially. It was our fault as we made assumptions about the boat number even though Elisa gave us clear directions. I blame the kids!) She escorted us to the apartment and showed us everything. It was so clean and modern with every appliance and cookware you would need. She even had fresh coffee powder for us that lasted our entire stay. She gave thoughtful suggestions for us and our family of four that included less visited areas that enabled us to experience something more local. She told us her favorite resturantes, bakeries, pastry shops. She even recommended places for tapas and and a spritz. At check out she escorted us to the main street as we were walking to the train station. The beds were comfortable and warm. The apartment is quiet and has an amazing view of the lagoon from your living room. I would definitely stay again and hope to have a spritz with Elisa, herself, who was a delight. Thank you, Elisa!

We stayed here for our 2nd trip to Venice. Our 1st trip put us close to the busiest part of the area. This time around, we looked for something quieter, but still convenient. This was perfect. The boats drop you off very close to the apartment which is helpful with luggage. Elisa met us at the dock upon our arrival (and also walked us back at the end of our stay to ensure we got on the right boat). She also took a lot of her time to explain everything about the unit. We ate at a restaurant that she suggested and it was perfect. The apartment itself was a very nice size. The sitting area and kitchen were some of the largest that I have encountered. The 2 bedrooms were very roomy and comfortable as well. Even though we were in a much quieter section, all of the popular destinations were still a very easy walk. And it was so peaceful walking back in the evening since it is mainly a residential area. And again, if you would rather take the boats, they are virtually outside the door. This made it very easy to get to some of the other islands. But, like other readers stated, it is very quiet inside the unit. If I return, I will certainly check on the availability of this unit again. Due to the location and comfort of the unit, as well as the graciousness of Elisa, I would give this apartment 6 stars if I could.
