Nice, but remote
The condo itself is a nice size for a family vacation home. Due to some problems on the mainland, part of our group was able to check in a day early, which we appreciated. There is a nice, clean pool with lounge chairs and a shaded area. The beach area was nice enough, but we didn't use it much. There is not a cook on site downstairs at all times, so talk to someone to make arrangements. The meals are more expensive than other restaurants we visited, but the food was tasty. There wasn't wi-fi available in the rooms (provider problem) so we had to sit downstairs to get it. But the sandflies do bite, and some people react strongly, like my husband. One of the biggest problems was the extra rain in the area, which caused a lot of wash-outs on the long road off the main road. Taxis did not want to come down the road and it was too muddy to walk. We were planning to rent a car, but it was damaged on the road, costing us several hundred dollars to repair. That was not the fault of the resort, but it's a factor any renter needs to take into account. The kitchen lacked adequate pots, with none very large to make something basic like spaghetti or soup for a family or a good pan for pizza or a cake. Some of the non-stick pans were too scratched for safe use. One of the cloth hot pads was dirty and moldy and we had to set it out of our way. The wooden dish rack had mildew. Paper towels to line the silverware drawer had not been replaced in awhile. There were no working lightbulbs over the dining table and no replacement garbage bags. We called Kenia who said she'd come on Friday morning at 9. She finally came about 5:00 and switched one bulb from the kitchen to the dining area. She may have had a good reason for the delay, but she should have called my son to let him know, or Chris the resort manager. Then she said she'd come the next day to clean. She came a day later. Again, there may have been a reason, but better communication would be appreciated. She didn't have more lightbulbs but did a good job of basic cleaning and put down a rug in the living room that would have been better to leave out. It was musty and didn't look clean. We ran out of toilet paper before the 2nd week ended and had to buy our own. The weather was cooler so we did not use the AC, but often ran the fans. We appreciated having a washer and dryer to use. Chris, the resort manager, and a few other staff were friendly and helpful. There are plans to expand amenities. It's a pretty spot with some good snorkeling just off shore and we did use a couple of the kayaks.

I was surprised to hear the Wi-Fi in the condo was not operable. Kenia, our assistant to the property manager, should have been able to get this repaired. This has been the worst rainy season locals can remember, which was the cause of the road problems. The resort developer along with Brick Bay neighbors have been trying for years to get the municipality to pave the road, but without success. Now, as a result of this rainy season problems, there is renewed energy to get this solved. Kenia's delay clearly was due to the road problems. There is no excuse for running out of toilet paper, not having clean pot holders, replacement garbage bags, light bulbs, and clean dish rack and paper towels in the sllverware drawer. We appreciate the feedback about pots and pans, so we can arrange some replacements, and also appreciate the feedback on the other issues that need to be remedied with our property manager assistant. This guest was not able to stay on the property because of failure to enable phone or email contact with the property manager for check-in. The guest assumed that staff would be present at the property for check-in, but it was made clear to the guest that contact with the property manager was essential to arrange check-in. The guest attempted arrival at about 9:30pm expecting reception and check-in like a hotel. This resulted in a regrettable and unfortunate situation for the guest as alternative accommodations were required.. A full refund was made. The negavities in this review need to be understood in this context.The property is never in total darkness as lights around the pool and along the road are on 24/7. To say that the property was in bad condition is a total fabrication in light of the fact that the guest never gained entry to the premises.. There is a lobby as part of the cafe-bar, however, it is true that there is no reception for condo check-in. Check in is made by the property manager or assistant. Further, there is no staff after the dinner hour at the cafe.so coming to the property at 9:30pm could give the appearance of inactivity and being shut down.

Beautiful Place, Beautiful Beach
We loved it here! Sweet, sandy beach, with easy snorkeling right off the beach using gear we borrowed from our host. The condo is delightful, with many gorgeous views from balconies. The pool was just right for a dip, we had it all to ourselves. Once you are there you won't want to leave, but it's close enough the West End for access to restaurants, etc.
