We found the cottage absolutely lovely. The attention to detail is evident in how it's been restored to period charm with antique furniture and fittings, but it doesn't skimp on practical modern conveniences - reliable wifi throughout, and the Dualit toaster and kettle got a good workout with morning tea and toast. The beds were very comfortable, and our host's generous provision of towels was very welcome.
The laminated information page listing local walks, attractions, etc was useful, though we barely got to try any of it as we were in town for a conference which took up most of our time.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a quiet little retreat for writers and researchers looking for something more inspiring than a generic hotel room or bland b&b.
