Perfect Family Getaway
We were lucky enough to spend a magical week in Croibh Inis in early August. From the moment you take the turn off the main Greenway Road you know you are in for an adventure!! The welcome we received from the owners Anne & Ray was second to none. The house itself is something very special.....so spacious & luxurious!! This house is much loved by its owners and it shows in every detail of every room!! The views will stay in your mind for a long time after you return home!! The neighbours are so friendly and generous with their time, and if you are really lucky you might be offered some fresh Mackerel to take home to cook!!
There is so much to do within your surroundings at Croibh Inis, for example if you are lucky with the weather there is Paddle Boards for the water, a bike for the Greenway, a hidden pebble beach over the hill at the back of the property or, if you just want to chill and take in the views there is ample garden seating and manicured lawns to just sit & spend a few leisurely hours!! The house is also in such an excellant location, halfway between Westport & Newport with a perfect view of Croagh Patrick.
I cannot recommend this place enough, seeing really is believing!! After a long lockdown of not seeing or spending time with our family.....this really was a tonic for all of us. Memories were made!

What a magical place
This is without doubt one of Ireland's hidden gems. The house and it's contents are impeccable. The neighbours are wonderfully chatty and welcoming.
We used the kayak and paddle board every day in this safe and peaceful bay.
Forget the Greenway, a cycle around the endless roads in Clew Bay will keep you happy for hours. Croagh Patrick and Westport are only down the road and a one hour trip to Achill's Keel beach is a must.
I don't think myself and my family have had a better holiday in Ireland.....why would you go abroad!

Luxury retreat in unique location
Just back from a great week in Croibh-Inis. What a fabulous house in such a beautiful location. A stones throw from Westport and its famous greenway. This is so much more than a holiday home. It’s a luxurious retreat in an unique location. Tucked away on a sheltered headland backing onto Clew Bay. The short climb to the rear of the site offers breathtaking views of the numerous islands in Clew Bay. You feel a million miles from anywhere and yet it’s a short trip by car or bicycle to Westport with its great cafes and restaurants, or the smaller town of Newport and a pint of Guinness in the Gráinne Uaile. The house itself is superb. The fit-out rivals that of any 5 star hotel. But it’s also the little touches that make a difference. You can tell the owners have gone to a lot of trouble to make you feel you’re staying in a home away from home, not just a rental property.

Cancelled last minute following receipt of my ID
Very disappointing experience with Anne and Raymond as I tried to book this house for a family getaway with my mother and brothers. The owners suddenly cancelled despite payment in full leaving us without a house for our summer vacation at the last minute.
As per the conditions, they require each person to sign a terms and conditions form and send back - which has proved challenging due to the on-going COVID-19 situation and the fact that my family are in different locations and I am working as a healthcare professional. Despite this, I did endeavour to get the forms and communicated this directly with Raymond.
The owners did give me a 24 hour deadline to get this information to them (which I did manage to at great lengths following a night shift). I had learnt upon receiving my ID, they had decided they could no longer offer the house to me and that a 24 hour deadline was no longer being offered. They offered no explanation as to why this occurred following receipt of my ID for their change which is particularly strange and worrying.
It has been an upsetting experience for me and my family and I have made an official complaint to holiday lettings regarding this issue.

We note the review posted by you, concerning your provisional booking of our house, made on May31st via Trip Advisor for the period July 18th to 25th.The facts we now outline to you:
1. On May 31st via email, after your enquiry, we advised you that the dates you requested were available, and that the booking would be provisional until we received the following documentation:
I. Completed Booking form
II. Signed Terms & Conditions
III. Proof of ID
2. On June 5th we received your contact details from TripAdviser and forwarded you a request for the above documentation allowing you one week deadline to complete same
3. On June 5th we received your completed booking form only (No proof of ID and no copy of signed acceptance of Terms & Conditions received)
4. On June 7th we advised you by email that we had not received the completed documentation
5. We reverted to you again on June 12th as we had not received the completed documentation within the 7-day period provided and as such the booking remained provisional. We advised you that we needed the completed documentation 'before Monday June 15th at the latest'
6. You advised us by email on June 12th that you would forward a copy of your ID the following day and stated 'let me know if any other info needed ' despite the fact that we specifically requested the signed copy of Terms & Conditions
7. On June 16th we advised you that we had not received the completed documentation and that two deadlines had passed and advised you of the imminent cancellation of your booking
8. On June 16th we received a copy of your ID but no copy of signed acceptance of your Terms & Conditions.
9. On June 17th we formally cancelled your provisional Booking by email to TripAdvisor and yourself
It is quite clear from the facts as outlined above (1-9) that you must take complete responsibility for the cancellation of your provisional holiday booking. We made it very clear to you at the very start that the booking was provisional and subject to confirmation only on receipt of the completed documentation within one week. You failed to do so despite several reminders.
Furthermore, it is disappointing that you use your position in healthcare as an excuse not to return completed documentation. There are others, like myself, who continue to work on the frontline in the provision of healthcare. I estimate that return of the completed documentation would have taken you at most 20 minutes of your time.

Amazing place
Thank you to both Ray and Anne for having exceeded our expectations. What better than smelling a delicious rhubarb crumble in the oven or fresh flowers to feel welcome? No need to talk about the amazing scenery just outside the windows or the very luxurious house.We had a situation and they really helped us in a big way we were blessed. They will know what i am talking about. Thank you so much for everything. Just one thing we know that it is your own home we can not miss that ;-)

Wonderful
Croibh Inis is a beautiful house which sits sympathetically in the wonderful surrounding landscape and we loved everything about our holiday there.
On arrival we were warmly greeted by Anne and Raymond. Fresh flowers, fruit, home baked cakes, as well as other well thought out touches, were awaiting us. The kitchen is extremely well stocked for those of us who like to cook, too
The house is a dream and we spent some time wandering around and staring out of the windows before settling down, with a glass of wine, on the balcony. Evensong, from the birds, and gently lapping water provided the soundscape.
The following morning we were delighted to see a variety of birds on the feeders, at the back of the house, which entertained us as we ate breakfast. Goldfinches, greenfinches and chaffinches were amongst the visitors.
During our stay we enjoyed a various trips out and about, but also loved the walk along the isthmus, joined by either Oscar or Sammy, two local dogs! We made sure we were back most evenings to take up our places at the dining room window and watch the changing light. I won’t attempt to describe it, you have to be there! But the most ethereal view was from the top of the hill, at the back of the house, across Clew Bay. A view which stopped us in our tracks and which has filled our thoughts every day since. Spectacular.
Croibh Inis is something else. Something very special. We miss you.

Fabulous Stay on Clew Bay, Ireland
We recently spent a week at Croibh-Inis and had an amazing time. The location is just as described — it took our breath away when we first arrived. The house is spacious and very well equipped. We wanted for nothing. It was peaceful, quiet and picturesque.
It is close to both Newport and Westport making shopping quite easy. We enjoyed a day trip to Ackill Island which I would highly recommend!
Anne and Raymond met us at the house and showed us around and answered any questions we had which was very helpful upon check-in.
We had a truly fabulous vacation!

Wonderful retreat in beautiful part of Ireland
What a truly amazing place. The house is fantastic and a true credit to Raymond and Anne. They are lovely people and give great tips on places to visit or eat. The neighbours are very friendly and welcoming even Oscar the dog. Locally are the town's of Westport and Newport which have great places to eat. Would recommend a visit to Westport house which is great for all. Hope to visit again 😀
