Séjour plus qu'agréable dans un gîte parfaitement localisé pour profiter d'Amboise sans voiture ! Vue imprenable, depuis le séjour et la chambre, sur le château d'Amboise et la chapelle St Hubert. Hôtes d'une extrême gentillesse et de très bons conseils. Ne pas hésiter; foncez.

Nous avons passé un excellent week-end dans ce gîte qui allie un rez de chaussée troglodyte avec une mezzanine ayant une vue imprenable sur le château. Idéal pour un week-end même au cœur de l'hiver, on a tout fait à pied, restaurants, courses pour un petit déjeuner copieux, Clos Lucé, cinéma. Accueil irréprochable on y retournera!

Nul besoin de reprendre la voiture puisque le logement est tout proche des monuments, des restaurants et des commerces. Attention très délicate des propriétaires qui ont personnalisé l’accueil avec des jouets adaptés à nos jeunes enfants, et nous nous sommes régalés à l’occasion avec des produits du jardin gentiment offerts. Excellente adresse que ce gîte tout neuf, restauré à l'ancienne avec beaucoup de goût.

The apartment is in a stunning location and is beautifully presented. It consists of three floors and the top two floors are a delight. The hosts could not be more helpful in advising where to go in the area. Our problem was that the cellar bedroom was very damp and we found that we had to dry off the bedding outside each day because it had acquired so much dampness overnight. We even washed all the bed linen to freshen it up after the first night when it was a particular problem. There was mould growing on the walls downstairs, so this was not our imagination. I am interested that no one else has made this observation, so it may be a recent problem, but it was quite an issue for us. A less significant problem, but a source of irritation, was the shower which could not be hung above waist height.

There are no negatives about this apartment, The view,the location,the package. Laid out over three floors ranging from the cool cave bathroom to the light,bright living area with wonderful views of the chateau,then there is the loft bedroom with even better views.All linked by a great spiral staircase. The outside area also great for enjoying any of the local produce,thoroughly recommend almond croissants for breakfast. Franck ,the owner, a joy,full of enthusiasm and knowledge of the local area.

Loved this vacation rental. Close to everything, the main bedroom is in a cave-like setting (but very comfortable), the kitchen and living room are modern and fully equipped, and the view is exactly like the photo. Finally, the host is knowledgeable and very friendly. Will return.

Nous avons regretté de ne pouvoir passer plus d'une nuit aux Terrasses Royales ! Un gîte très sympathique, où on est très agréablement accueillis par Laurence et Franck Perronin. Notre chambre était chaleureuse, le jardin paisible et le petit-déjeuner est riche et savoureux. La vue sur Amboise et son château distinguent encore les Terrasses Royales !

Driving through the french countryside is a beautiful and tiring experience. Leaving Paris after lunch and doing the ubiquitous get lost in french countryside, we arrived later than we wanted to in Amboise, in the Loire Valley. Driving up to Les Terrasses Royales, was like coming to a sanctuary, especially with a dedicated parking spot right out in front. Franck (the charming owner of this stunning Gite) cheerfully greeted us and showed us to our home for the next several days. Walking into the troglodyte was what our family needed to ease our travel weary souls. The mixture of modern clean lines with the rough cave walls gave new meaning to the cool. The temperature difference was quite amazing, from the unusually warm temperatures of the outside (mid 80’s), to a much cooler 60 - 70 degree. Each of the immaculately cleaned floors, became a showcase of love to Amboise. The middle, main living area has a wall of sliding glass doors, to look out to the beauty of the Chateau d’Amboise (Amboise Castle). The kitchen was well stocked for 4 - 6 people. Sitting at the kitchen table, more than once we would just stop and stare out at the beauty that surrounded us, forgetting what we were doing. The top level bedroom completely showcases the Chateau’s stunning architecture and where the A-Line picture is taken from. What a beautiful site to wake up to! Franck, then takes us to the outside, luring us to the outdoor living space. Try not to stop and smell the rose trees on the walkway to a spacious and comfortable couch, table and chairs. A perfect spot to lounge while enjoying the sunset with some good wine and all the necessary provisions. We also enjoyed having coffee in the morning to wake up the day. Following the rose and lovely flower lined path, you find a table set out to dine at, or even to sketch if you are so inclined. The famous sketch that Leonardo da Vinci did in the 1500’s of Chateau d’Amboise, is clearly from where this Gite is located. While the pictures are stunning, they do not come close to showing the majesty of the view. Staying at Les Terrasses Royales also gives the guests Franck’s incredible wealth of information and an information office to match. He is able to print out tickets to the local Chateaus, which helps, so you do not have to stand in line. Franck is also a champion of the local, small producers and has incredible knowledge of the area and loves to share this with his guests. Because of this, we went to the most wonderful local restaurants and even had reservations made for us. Franck then took his leave, but not before leaving us with a bottle of sparkling vouvray, just to help with the unpacking, almost medicinal. We are already looking forward to our next stay here at La Terrasses Royales because it is a must in the Loire Valley!
