Issue number 1: the announcement that the propriety sits on a 4 or 5 Hectares of land is a lie and a major mislead that actually made us finalize the booking among other options we had.
Due to the size of the propriety mentioned in the listing and everywhere in the comments and description, we imagined that we can let our kids play everywhere in a safe and enclosed space, owned by our host.
The reality was that we were explicitly forbidden to cross the boundaries of the allowed
Issue number 2:
Even if it is advertised like that, there is no direct access to the beach, you have to exit the propriety into the public road and walk cca 50 meters to the beach.
For us direct access to the beach means you open a gate of your courtyard and you are on the beach. The situation on the filed was that, we weren't allowed to get close to the beach line in cca 10 meters, the wall of the terrace was continued with a series of flowers, limiting our access to that area. We could only see the beach from afar. This is not direct access to the beach.
The name that can be given to this propriety is maybe front line.
Issue number 3:
Wifi, although advertised and included in the price was not working the whole stay. The owner did not provided any alternative or a cost reduction.
Issue number 4:
we were required to use the shower outside before entering the house, but in fact that was not equipped completely thus unusable, apart from that, there was no door so you are seen from the courtyard
Issue number 5:
The owners live 2 meters away, they have cameras everywhere, without informing us, there is no sense of privacy.
They don't like kids, in fact the owned shouted at our kids and at me, which I find unacceptable.
All in all he wanted us to feel privileged to be allowed to spend an overpriced stay there.
Several other issues:
- the shower has no own light
- the clima device in the kids room smells bad and we could not use it
- the barriers and the gate are complicated and take too much to open and close (cca 15 minutes) , plus there are a bunch of locks it takes some time to figure out which to use.
For the value for the money the living room is very small, the flat TV advertised as very large is same as my computer monitor, but 10 years older, there is nothing you can do if it rains. The furniture in the living room is not comfy and is very small.
Everything in the hose clicks and snaps laud when used.
The toiled is at the upper floor, is very loud, especially in the night, the toilet seat (which we were told so many times not to press it because is automatic) makes a very loud noise when closing.
The toilet has no windows and the ventilation is insufficient. Additionally is very hot in there.
The advertised window overseeing the propriety is less that an hand in height
There is no insects net anywhere so we were attacked by mosquitoes every night. but not only, one day we found in the kitchen a thing cca 3 cm long (which I have not shown to my wife so we do not have to leave immediately :) )
There are 3 camping's in the area, one right across the street. The first week, they were very loud up to 10 PM. after that, because french holiday was over, not so much.
The owner had several visits late in the evening, with dinner outside and we could hear them talking in french much louder that we could hear the waves and the sea.
We wanted to review the location sooner, but, as in an agreement with trip advisor the owner took the listing offline until the day my buyer protection expired.
After several calls and mails with tripadvisor it was clearly that they favor the listing owners so we feel cheated by both parties.
Conclusion:
While the surroundings are nice and the weather was with us most of the time, good wine and food, the experience we had staying at the place was way under my expectation for the price.
Avoid tripadvisor.
