Vacances a la croix joreau
Avons passé une semaine à la croix joreau Hélène est une propriétaire très agréable faisant des efforts pour parler le français et très réactive a nos demandes
C' est un endroit très rustique au milieu de la campagne calme assuré a 40 minutes de saumur très bien pour un point de départ de toutes les visites
Un plus pour ce gîte la piscine ouverte de 10h à 22h dommage nous avons eu un temps mitigé
Le point négatif pour nous pas de télé le wifi très aléatoire dans la maison et pas de soirée comme prévue dans le descriptif du gîte on ressent un manque d'entretien certainement causé par la tristesse du décès de son mari

The most relaxing and memorable holiday we have had.
My husband and I and our 9 year old son decided on a different type of holiday this year. Usually paying over the odds for expensive all inclusive package holidays we fancied a change. It was without doubt the best holiday we have had. We booked two weeks and on arrival were greeted by the lovely owner Helen, she made us feel instantly welcome. We met the other families staying in the other gites who we're sitting in the courtyard enjoying the evening sun and a BBQ. The gites are basic but well equipped with everything you need, ours had a wet room which had a great power shower. The whole atmosphere gave us the instant impression we had chosen the correct holiday. We spent many days out in the surrounding towns enjoying the ambience of France. There is plenty to do and always good advice from other families there on places to visit. There is a pool which all the children loved jumping in and out of, with all the new friends they had made. We didn't go out every day because it was so nice to spend the day in such a tranquille village relaxing and reading while the children played together. I would highly recommend this holiday, the whole experience is just what we needed and the hands on advice from the owner who could never do enough to help was so welcoming. Helen is running a beautiful holiday home which we will definitely return to! Thanks to Helen and her family we have had a wonderful experience :))

A little dated & run down
We booked this last year & had planned to stay 6 nights but we're disappointed from the moment of arrival. We only stayed one night. Had arranged a meal which was excellent. We were aware of difficult circumstances that the owner had faced but we found the cottage dated & lacking in basic equipment - couldn't even find 4 plates or glasses that matched. Pool out of action as it had been drained & due to weather owner was unable to get it up & running. Thought we could have been advised about this before arrival. More isolated than we had expected. Needs some improvements as everything seemed tired & neglected.

Perfect base to discover the Loire Valley
Had a fantastic time with lovely hosts - would recommend and plan to stay again. A perfect place to relax and plan your day exploring the surrounding area. So much to see and do we couldn't fit it all in

A very enjoyable stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Croix Joreau, it was a nice quiet village and a good location for exploring the Loire area. Helen and John were very hospitable and friendly, and they do a very nice meal as well. The gites are homely and comfortable. Good value.

Fantastic holiday location. Great for families!
The gites are around a courtyard where families/groups can sit and eat and play boule. The Larders are superb hosts, for whom nothing is too inconvenient. The pool is welcome in the heat and a lovely setting to relax. The bakers is a short 3 minute walk to collect bread. There is a small children's play area and a grassy lawn on which to play cricket/ football. The setting of la croix joreau is superb, with plenty to do and see within a short drive. Zoo de doue is fantastic for a day out with children. We have returned here on 3 occasions and we would recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful place to relax
La Croix Joreau is a great place from which to visit the attractions of the Loire Valley, but it is also a great place to relax and do nothing. The central courtyard is good for socialising and the pool is lovely to lie beside or even swim in when it gets a bit hot! Owners John and Helen go out of their way to make sure that all guests are comfortable and happy. I've stayed there six years in a row and will return this year. What better recommendation is there?

The only holiday location to which we keep returning!
All this, and it's within a day's travel from home (Buckinghamshire) - with a three course table d'hote meal, including a bottle of local wine, waiting for us on arrival.
We first stayed here about 8 years ago, with our then teenaged daughter and a friend, creating some interest when we arrived in an elderly but willing VW camper van, and have just kept returning for the welcome, location and the company. The apartments are arranged so that you can retreat to privacy for peace and quiet, or join fellow guests and knowledgable hosts John and Helen for what have been some of the liveliest and most hilarious evenings we can remember. It's also very child-friendly, with plenty of safe playing areas as well as the pool. Our fondest memory is taking friends of our own to help Jean and I celebrate our silver wedding anniversary a few years ago, for which Helen prepared a memorable meal that we shared with other guests, finished off by a special anniversary cake baked by Helen as a surprise.
Parcay les Pins is a perfect base for exploring this part of France, with a boulangerie, a cafe-bar and a village shop, and only half an hour from larger towns, supermarkets and a handful of chateaux - but don't miss the market in Langeais on Sunday morning, or the bigger one in Bourgueil on Tuesdays.
So sorry, John and Helen, but you'll have to put up with us again - but without the camper van these days!
