Hi there
Thanks so much for your words and for coming our way. As you mention, we're very fortunate that most people seem to leave us very happy, but that doesn't mean we don't listen to those who weren't totally happy. We take all feedback very seriously, and try our best to implement changes based on things that aren't right. We are nonetheless happy to hear of the things about the property and the area that you were pleased with - thanks for these.
A couple of quick replies. You said that the outside table only had three seats and that for a larger party there wouldn't have been enough crockery. We would just say that we are always ready to provide anything at all that any of our guests feel they are lacking as we say in our welcome card and info folders, so these things needn't ever be an issue. Nothing is too much trouble - if we can fix a problem, we will. Regarding the numbers of people from the house using the pool: as you know, the house is actually our own home and for the use of our own family, and we were there for much of your stay with our two youngsters making occasional use of the pool. We do always try only to use it when we see our guests are not swimming themselves, to make sure our guests enjoy it as much as possible undisturbed. As you also know, we left for a break elsewhere ourselves for the last couple of days of your stay and made the rare decision to rent our home out while we were away. So for any disruption the pool occupation by a larger party from next door caused during the end of your stay, we are sorry. We rent the house out only occasionally and always ask those staying to respect those next door in the apartments, but we will redouble our efforts on that front in future, asking that a maximum of 3 or 4 people from the house bathe at once.
We do advertise the outside space and pool as shared areas - we'd hate to misrepresent our residence so that people arrived to something they weren't expecting - and we are happy to say that this has rarely caused a problem. In fact, many former guests have made lifelong friends (I'm not exaggerating!) with those in the neighbouring apartments. Most people are very respectful of each other's privacy, but we are sorry if you feel that wasn't the case during your stay. Best wishes for the future and take care. Thanks again for your rental. Do get in touch and say hi if you are ever back in La Rochelle again.
