We had a lovely stay in Arles. The town house was in a quiet street near the Arena and within easy walking distance to sites in the old town and to the river. Our host Bernard was very helpful in every way he could be. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for him. His wife Jo made us some delicious cookies for our arrival. The kitchen was well equipped and stocked with essentials such as coffee, tea, sugar, butter and jams. The terrace was perfect for breakfast in morning sunshine. The cellar had a great selection of organic local wines with payment on an honour system. The rooms were temperature controlled and the beds were clean and comfortable. Bernard took us for a tour of the town, showing us where everything was located and marking them all on maps. Bernard met us outside the old town and gave us a pass to drive inside the restricted area. We parked our car in the garage provided and borrowed the bicycles to explore further out of town. Arles is very well located for exploring the region. Our favourite day trips were to the beach at Les St Maries de la mere and to Parc national des Calanques, just on the other side of Marseille. We visited a number of historic sites and spent a couple of mornings shopping at the large local market. When we checked out it was quick, friendly and easy. We enjoyed our stay very much and I hope we can stay again some time.

A stones throw from the famous Bull ring is this lovely traditional 3 room house with terrace. This house is beautifully equipped, with air conditioning etc. It is tucked away down a small side street. Every museum, gallery,Roman site, restaurant or shop is easily reached on foot. The brief tour of Arles by our host on arrival was invaluable. We loved it.

We stayed three nights at Bernard and Jo's amazing house in Arles and we wished we could have stayed at week longer. They set the bar VERY high for any other vacation rentals! The house itself is beautiful and they have thought of everything so you lack for nothing. It is in a perfect location, right in the heart of the historic centre, and amazingly even has secure parking. Bernard met us and settled us in, located us on the map, gave us dining ideas, then gave us a wonderful walking tour of the area so that we could get our bearings. The kitchen was stocked with essentials and more - milk, butter, coffee, tea, homemade palmiers (Merci, Jo), oranges and lemons, farm eggs, homemade olive oil, homemade marmalade, vases of fresh rosemary,.....amazing! And the town of Arles itself is amazing, with so much history, friendly people and really great food. Merci Bernard et Jo. Votre maison est tellement special et nous esperons revenir vous voir un jour. Et nous esperons peut-etre vous voir un jour au Méxique ou en Nouvelle Écosse. Merci pour tout!

My husband & I spent a month in this fabulous home in the shadow of the Arena in old Arles. It includes a well-stocked and equipped kitchen on the ground floor, a master bedroom (with a super comfortable queen bed) and full bath on the first floor, a sitting room with a futon for guests and half bath on the second floor opening onto a lovely covered terrace (with its own wet bar), and a wine cellar in the basement stocked with local wines (pay as you consume). Air-conditioning and heat on each level, and there is a garage included, big enough for any car!! What more could you want for a short or long stay in this lovely area?! Bernard & Jo are wonderful hosts, generous with their time and guidance for touring Provence. We found Arles to be a great base for visiting Avignon, Marseille, St Remy, Les Baux, Aix,and the Camargue. But Arles itself is worth many days of exploring with its Roman ruins, and lovely shops. This is our second time staying here and we will definitely be back!

Everything about our stay was perfect. Bernard picked us up from the station and even gave us a tour of the town, with plenty of tips for sightseeing. The house was spacious, spotless and very comfortable, including a private terrace with fabulous rooftop views. Special thanks to Jo for the homemade biscuits, homegrown tomatoes and jam, which were all delicious. An excellent base for day trips in beautiful Provence.

Was für ein Urlaub!!! Mitten in der Altstadt von Arles in direkter Nachbarschaft von der Arena liegt das restaurierte und vollständig ausgestattete Haus. Die Einrichtung ist sehr geschmackvoll. Die beiden liebenswerten Gastgeber Bernard und Jo haben wirklich an alles gedacht. Wir wurden sehr herzlich begrüßt. Bernard hat uns das Haus erklärt, Jo hat uns mit selbstgemachter Marmelade, Tapenade, frischen Kräutern, Tomaten, Paprika und Eiern aus eigenem Garten aber auch mit Kaffee, Tee, Gewürzen etc. überrascht. Besonders nett war die persönliche Stadtführung (45 min) von Bernard mit vielen informativen Erläuterungen. Wir können nicht französisch sprechen. Mit Bernard konnten wir uns aber ohne Probleme auf englisch verständigen. Dieses Haus ist eine dicke Empfehlung für alle, die gerne landestypisch wohnen wollen, ohne auf Komfort zu verzichten. Der persönliche Kontakt mit Bernard und Jo, ihre sehr zuvorkommende freundliche Art hat unseren Aufenthalt perfekt gemacht. Wir wurden wie Freunde begrüßt und verabschiedet.

Bei unserer Anreise hatten wir eine Reifenpanne, ca 45 Min von Arles entfernt und ohne öffentliche Verkehrsmittel. Bernhard organisierte uns einen Ersatzreifen und holte uns ab. Die Wohnung ist liebevoll und sehr geschmackvoll renoviert. Das Frühstück war schon eingekauft, ink selbergemachter Confi und einer Schachtel selbergemachter Güezi Bernhard gab uns viele Tips was man machen kann und wo man gut isst. Es gab auch eine kleine Stadtführung Bernhard und Jo sind sehr nett und Offen, wie Familie

Gîte réservé en dernière minute par un duo d'amies pour un weekend reposant à Arles. Autant dire que nous n'avons pas été déçues : Jo et Bernard nous ont accueillies avec sympathie et grands sourires ! Le gîte se situe au centre ville mais néanmoins au calme et une place de stationnement tout à côté de la maison nous a été proposée. Le logement est très bien équipé et en excellent état. Les conseils à l'arrivée (commerces, visites...) nous ont permis de prendre nos repères très rapidement et de profiter pleinement de notre séjour. En bref : c'était très bien !
