A Hidden Paradise Near Puerta de la Cruz
We had a wonderful two weeks in the Villa Jardin Botanico. Our party consisted of 4 grown up children and a baby and us - Mum and Dad and it was perfect for us. Plenty of room for each member of the party to do their own thing. The house is beautiful inside and out and sits in a beautiful garden. The fully equipped BBQ bar and seating area is a real treat and the swimming pool is beautiful. The mid-stay clean was a nice touch and meant we had an abundance of nice dry towels especially swimming towels. Great place to stay and unwind with easy access to Puerto de la Cruz and Mount Teide although you do need a car!

A beautiful villa in stunning gardens.
This property is really exceptional. The house is beautiful with really special furniture, decoration and paintings. The villa and garden is spotlessly clean and extremely well maintained. The pool and summer kitchen are beautiful. Loads of space in the garden for kids to run around. Nice, good value restaurants within walking distance. The owner is friendly and helpful. He lives nearby and so is on hand to help out if any problems arise. There is loads to do in Tenerife - the kids loved Siam and Loro parque. The town of Garachico with volcanic pools is especially nice, as is La Orotava itself.

Beautiful villa in stunning gardens
We first stayed at Villa Jardin Botanico in March 2011 and, from the moment of our arrival, we fell in love with the place. It was as a result of that wonderful holiday that we booked a return visit in May this year.
The approach to the villa is along a 500 metre unmade (but sound) road between fields growing a variety of vegetables and fruits. The villa is hidden from view but, when the large electronically controlled entrance gate swings back, you enter a lush, tropical oasis which fully justifies the name of this villa.
We were greeted warmly by the owners (who live in their adjoining but not visible villa). When they gave us a conducted tour of our holiday home, we were immediately struck by the size and grandeur of the living rooms, the well equipped kitchen, the quality of the furnishings throughout and the paintings which adorned the villa. We immediately felt at home (not only because my wife is an artist!) but simply because the villa is homely notwithstanding the scale of the accommodation.
The gardens are a perfect complement to the villa. They have been professionally landscaped and planted and contain an impressive array of palm trees from tropical origins around the world and the flowering shrubs and plants are a joy to see. There is even an aviary in the garden with canaries which greeted us every day with their singing. However, they were out sung by the blackcap and willow warblers who were resident in the extensive shrubbery around the villa. The heated swimming pool is meticulously maintained and is set below a terraced area which has a dining table under an extendible awning alongside a dedicated BBQ with its own kitchenette with additional equipment such as a hob, fridge etc.
This villa has everything you could possibly need for a perfect holiday. In fact, we had to almost force ourselves to go out into the nearby towns of Puerto de la Cruz and Orotova as we were so content with the villa and the gardens. If you have been used to staying in the South of Tenerife where the majority of tourist accommodation is based, I cannot recommend too highly the merits of the northern end of the island and, in particular, this stunning villa which is available at what I consider to be very reasonable rental rates.

A beautiful villa in beautiful grounds, although fairly remote location.
Well, where shall I start? I stayed here with 3 of my friends for my best friends 40th birthday. And what a wonderful choice it was! The grounds are spectacular! Avocado trees, palm trees, an aviary and some beautiful plants. Then there's the house!! Beautifully kept and presented and everything you could possibly need!! There are basically 2 kitchens, 1 in the house and another up by the BBQ!! And now to Desmond... What a lovely man! I contacted him prior to our visit to arrange for some champagne to be in the fridge upon our arrival and he delivered it perfectly. So very helpful and charming to boot! Even when my friends got lost on a trip to the shops he went out to find them! I would definitely stay here again!!!

Exceptionally high quality villa
This villa offers something far above the standard holiday property experience - it is more like house-sitting at the home of a prosperous friend. The house and gardens are immaculate, the furnishings and equipment are top-class. The barbecue area above the pool area is another great success, practically a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, and with a great draft of air through the fire-pit to speed the cooking along. The aviary in the courtyard has around twenty Canary birds, whose pleasant mutterings reach the terrace and garden. Not least of the pleasures here, of course, is the greenness and temperate air of the Orotava Valley as a retreat from the blazing sunshine elsewhere on the island.

Wow factor
I wanted to stay near family in the north of Tenerife & somewhere that we could have a family birthday Bar-B-Q for my son. I had already read reviews on Villa Jardin Botanico which sounded very impressive and felt that this was just the place for us to stay.
The villa is gorgeous with lots of space. It is furnished to a very high standard with hanging shandaliers in nearly every room and the main bedroom has a 19th century four poster bed. (I think I read in the infomation folder ) A lot of thought had gone into every detail in this villa. The well maintained gardens are stunning with lots of different sized palm trees scattered over the lawn areas and the borders are filled with flowers and bushes of all different colours along with the pool and special kitchen area for that birthday bar -b-q. Villa Jardin Botanico has the wow factor in holiday accommodation. We could not fault this villa in anyway and we had a fantastic time here and would love to go back again.

magnificent relaxing accomadation
shh don't tell anyone, after a very noisy week in Las Americas, this place was heaven.
Clean tidy all you could ever want for a relaxing holiday, with welcoming owner.
A meeting place was organised, so we didn't get lost finding the house.
The bungelow had all the amenities & more, with some lovely antiques.
The garden pool & barbacue area are completely private, with sun all day & some shaded areas. A car is recomended. Try the local resturant El Raspon,its just up the road .
Would love to go again

This house is just magnificent
We spent a lovely week here - four of us feeling as though we were living in the lap of luxury. The house has to be seen to be believed and the gardens are just magnificent. We could happily have spent the entire week just relaxing and enjoying this beautiful place. It was all just as described and more. You must have a car here and beware the entrance is a bit tricky until you've done it a few times. Both the house and gardens are absolutely immaculate - we felt privileged to stay here. Desmond made it all very easy and even did a bit of breakfast shopping for us prior to our late evening arrival.

Best ever private rental
Apart from the many bedrooms and bathrooms, with very well working showers, the kitchen is equipped with all important gadgets. Lots of useful food items are in the larder area so check it out before you go shopping the first time. Buy a sack of fresh oranges from the local farms and taste the difference. The eating room is great but we preferred to have just our dinner there as the sunny terrace is a must for breakfast. The beautiful botanic garden is great and you have orange trees with lovely tasting oranges. The huge avocado tree, palm trees and all the other trees and flowers are amazing. Every season you will find something different to discover the place is worth to spend a week without leaving it. We spend our evenings in the lit up swimming pool. The views onto the hills and mountains is priceless. I particular loved the canary aviary not far from the main entrance. The house was clean and well equipped. Great that it has wireless and satellite TV. The owners are very friendly and extremely helpful. It is certainly advantageous that the washing machine is there.

Idyllic holiday in a beautiful, secluded and well-equipped villa.
Villa Jardin Botanico is a really beautiful house in stunning gardens. The standard of the accommodation was excellent - by far the best villa we have stayed in. The pool was clean, well-maintained and, with the heating, a wonderful 28-30 degrees in March/April - just perfect for 2 young children. The gardens are very well-secluded with beautiful views to the mountains on one side and the coast to the other. Plenty of lizards to spot as well as birds attracted to the garden's trees and plants.
The owners were helpful and friendly and on-hand to help if needed, although we didn't need to call on them at all as everything was perfect.
In terms of location, the villa is well-situated for Puerto de la Cruz or La Oratava and a very short drive from supermarkets etc. You do need a car - but the secluded situation was definitely part of the appeal for us.
Nearby Lorro Parque was well worth a visit and there are some very nice drives up into the national park or along the coast. Some excellent restaurants also recommended in the villa's handbook.
The one way system around the area can be rather frustrating but you get to explore a lot of the locale by constantly missing a turning and failing to find an easy way back!
Our children had a wonderful holiday and the villa would be a definite recommendation from us.
