It really is as beautiful as it looks...
We had a fantastic week in El Badiu in July/August and really couldn’t fault the appartment. It is even more beautiful than it looks in the photos. We had a lovely welcome from Montse and the appartment was spotlessly clean with fantastic views and a great location. Thank you

It was bliss to stay in this stunning mix of ancient and modern
This old stone house is in a glorious setting, up by the Cathedral in the heart of the Old Town. Thanks to E Badiu's wonderfully sensitive remodelling there are delightful views all around from its windows and loggia. Inside, the house is spacious, light and super-comfortable, with every modern appliance, yet it breathes a magical sense of age and peace. Owner Joan Manuel R and house manager Montse Ollé were exceptionally helpful to us. Walking down the narrow cobbled streets of Girona Old Town to reach the river is a delight -- and staying in E Badiu is a rare treat.

A special place
We were fortunate to book this duplex flat for three nights for our stay this week in Girona, and I must say we loved it. We are fans of contemporary architecture, so to see how the owners have transformed an ancient space into a modern environment, at once both simple and elegant, was highly enjoyable. But more important, it is also a very comfortable space in which to stay, with a fully kitted-out kitchen, cozy beds, stylish but functioning bathing areas, excellent lighting and a beautiful deck on which to relax. It rained heavily during our stay, and rather than being trapped in a tiny hotel room, we were able to roam freely in this gigantic space. But the real charm of this space is human. The owner with whom I corresponded was quick and helpful in his replies, and the real secret weapon was the woman who manages the property. Sita met us upon arrival, gave us a clear tour of the property, and then discussed with us many attractions, including restaurants (important to me) and the public market, in the area. After we notified her, just so she would be aware, that a minor lightbulb had burned out, we returned home a few hours later to find a replacement bulb and a note with a recommendation for a superb wine and cheese establishment. There is more, but you get the idea. We were totally charmed by Girona, so it is likely that we will return, and when we do, we will be eager to stay here again.

I want to move in!!
We chose this apartment because we love architecture and especially architecture that includes the transformation and modernisation of old, existing structures. E Badiu is amazing and is exceptionally well done. We absolutely LOVED the space, the incredible design and attention to detail. Montse was very helpful with suggestions as to where to eat and walk in the city. Our only regret is that our stay was so short - we had come to Girona for a meal at El Cellar de Can Roca and the combination of the spectacular apartment and food we enjoyed made a for a very indulgent escape. I would recommend this apartment with no reservation. Stay for a couple of days - the location is fantastic and the apartment is incredibly well appointed with everything you need.

Excellent apartment in perfect location
A beautiful apartment with everything you need: a fully stocked kitchen, several bathrooms, plenty of space, fantastic views. The location was wonderful and my family and I are very glad we chose this option over a traditional hotel.

Eine außergewöhnliche Ferienwohnung (Lage + Architektur)
Wenn man erstmal die Wohnung gefunden hat, wird man von ihrer Lage und der außergewöhnlichen Architektur beeindruckt.
Anfahrt:
Der Beschilderung zur Universität folgen, mehrere Einfahrtsverbotsschilder übersehen, sich durch schmale Rampen nicht abschrecken lassen und etwas Glück haben. Das Navi hilft nur sehr eingeschränkt, weil einige Straßen inzwischen abgebunden sind.
Die Wohnung selbst ist ein Erlebnis, sehr sauber und wirklich hochwertig eingerichtet. Lastenaufzug vorhanden. Großartig ist auch die überdachte Terasse neben der Küche. Die Miete ist zwar schmerzhaft hoch, aber man bekommt wirklich etwas außergewöhnliches geboten. Am zweiten Tag findet man auch den Weg durch die Engen Gassen und Treppen der Altstadt zum Bäcker. Man sollte die Wohnung besser mit Stellplatz mieten.
Es sind aber auch weitere Wohnungen im Haus, eine mit einem schönen Garten mit Teich oder Schwimmbad.
Man sollte auf jeden Fall die Musiksammlung prüfen.

Loved it!
This review is a bit overdue, But essentially we loved our stay here.
The house is as beautiful in real life, if not more so, as in the pictures.
The excitement + awe of spotting the house from its stunning balcony, for the first time, as we drove up is a feeling we'll never forget!
We loved the top floor with the balcony, the views, the breeze - we even slept up there one night!
We also loved sitting in the university cafe having a relaxed (alcoholic lunch!) and staring up at the property in disbelief that we were actually there!

Beautiful apartment in a beautiful town
Alemanys 5 has been restored and modernised with love and attention to detail by its architect owners. The result is a stunning modern apartment that celebrates natural materials. It has a large balcony onto which you can wheel the kitchen table, taking all meals outside overlooking one of the town's squares and a couple of the cobbled alleyways that make Girona so special. I came home wanting to strip away all the clutter in my own house and enjoy the simpler, minimalist style of Alemanys. That said, the apartment is very well equipped. At the moment the town is unspoilt - let's hope it stays that way. It has plenty of restaurants etc for tourists but has retained its historical character. It is a perfect place for a short break for those who love wandering around beautiful places. (Nb it is hilly so not ideal walking territory for anyone who has difficulty getting around.) This was a wonderful place to stay. The owners, Juan and Anna, provided excellent advice and information, and the apartments are kept beautifully clean by Montse, who also provided information about where to find things in the town. Thoroughly recommended.

lux penthouse with plenty of room
luxury penthouse, pictures on the web offer an excellent representation of this beautiful home. elegant, charming mix of modern, old and industrial, extremely well appointed, great linen, spotless and has everything you will need, great light and outdoor balcony, shops a short walk to get supplies. location may be a challenge to some as it sits on the top of the hill of the old town which is easily within walking distance but does involve a couple of hundred cobble stone steps each way. penthouse requires the ability to manage stairs inside/ master bath also requires good balance due to interesting layout . may represent a challege to those with significant wieght bearing issues. secure bike storage an asset. concerge is excellent, due to delays we arrived around 2300hrs and hungry.She looked after us with bread/cheese and beer.impecable service.
