On arrival we were greeted by the smell of cat faeces and an algae lined unusuable pool.
On entering the house it became clear that I had cleaning to do. The dining room table, chairs and placemats were dirty with food on the floor.
The kitchen work surfaces, tiles, oven trays, pots and pans and fridge door we're all dirty and needed a good clean. The kitchen bin had rubbish in it.
The cups and glasses had a smear of grease over them.
The downstairs shower was mouldy, grimey and not a clean space atall.
The ceiling fans were thick with dust.
The sofa cushions were filthy underneath and the throws needed washing.
All the towels smelt of cigarettes
On unpacking we discovered that the beds were stained and unwashed.
I had to strip all the beds aswell as the mattress protectors and pillow protectors as these had urine stains and other unidentifiable marks. We only needed one bed and so we had to choose the least dirty bed to sleep in whilst we washed the other bedding so it was at least clean for the week.
We ended up leaving the property prematurely because I was so fed up. This cost us almost €200 for a hotel for 2 nights.
On arriving home, the owner who was previously "sorry" for the state of the house but did not rectify any of the concerns, tried claiming against us for "theft of electricity" £200.... claiming we had heated the pool all week and had the back up of the pool company's claims. The pool company has been contacted and say they are sorry for how we have been treated and that they DID NOT back up the owners claims atall.
The owner repeatedly "told" me that I had heated the pool but then stated that the pool company had turned up Monday (our day of arrival) and Thursday to check we had not damaged the system..... You would have thought they would have turned said heating off had it been on and unauthorised don't you think.
The claim has thankfully been settled in my favour as the owner had nothing to substantiate.
The bikes available for use are locked up with flat tyres.
This women has harassed me and her behaviour has been nothing less than strange.
I cannot leave a more factual review and although it is damning I do so, so that no one else uses their precious annual leave and spends hard earned money on this.
1 star review is too complimentary.
