We booked a holiday in Sorrento for six friends during September 2018. We chose this apartment based on its good amenities, suitable price and perfect location near the Amalfi coast. The host Raffaele confirmed our booking right away and was also very helpful in arranging our vacation and kept us informed whether we had anything to ask with fluent English.
The villa was easy to find because Raffaele personally escorted us to the property from Sorrento. What we saw next after a short drive was beyond our best wishes: view to the Naples bay was amazing! Garden was perfect for sunbathing and hanging out and a large pool was inviting. One of our favorite spots during our stay was the atmospheric grilling/outdoor dining area with a coal grill, integrated induction stove and a large dining table. Overall the kitchen was well equipped with modern appliances including many frying and sauce pans & cutlery – home chefs approved! With three separate bedrooms (one of which was a true master bedroom, doors opening directly to the garden with views to the bay) this villa was great for six persons.
Additionally, the property included a private parking space which was very useful, and it easily fitted our rather large van after some maneuvering. There was even enough parking space for two normal sized sedans.
The villa’s location was on a hillside, about 3 kilometres from Sorrento overlooking northwest to the beautiful bay area (perfect for sunsets!). Restaurants and supermarkets were both accessible either by car or by walking. Walking to Sorrento, about 30 min, was usually our main way of transport to the city centre and its many restaurants. The walking path took us there via olive groves, lemon plantations and picturesque narrow alleys. However, it is good to be aware that the path is quite steep at times. Fortunately, taxis were also readily available and cost about 25-35 euros for six persons, so they are useful for going upwards after the dinner! For us the location was perfect: it was high enough for the great views to the bay and therefore being very quiet and peaceful but still easily accessible.
Hosts kept us feeling welcome and were just one message or phone call away. They ensured that the pool was clean, and trashes taken care of, all very discreetly in the morning that usually we did not even notice. They also brought us a pack of coffee on first morning, which was a lifesaver for Finns. Raffaele had also very good contacts in Sorrento area so that any tips, trips or activities you have in mind, be sure to ask him!
We would kindly recommend this villa, for its astonishing atmosphere, and especially due to its welcoming and friendly hosts.
