Holiday in Portofino
No need to say this but Portofino is a very beautiful place and the living room window of the VELA 2BR apartment has fabulous views over the Harbour and Marina. You could sit there all day and not get tired of it. All Portofino amenities are within easy walking distance of the apartment and regular ferries and buses are available to take you to other towns and villages along the coast. You can also easily walk to Santa Margherita if you prefer to do that. There is a more difficult walk in the other direction to San Fruttuoso and I would not recommend it if you have any mobility issues or are afraid of heights - take the ferry instead. There are some drawbacks to the apartment but these are understandable given the layout of Portofino and the position of the apartment and I would not recommend it for someone of limited mobility. The drawbacks include steep stairs to the front door of the apartment, Steep and narrow stairs to the upstairs bedroom and en-suite bathroom, which is narrow with a low ceiling. There were four of us sharing the apartment with my wife and I (ages 65 and 63) occupying the upstairs bedroom. We are fairly fit and managed okay. Other comments are that the kitchen is very small and not well equipped and the towels that were provided were not great. For us though, these drawbacks were totally overshadowed by the fantastic views from the apartment and its location in Portofino.

Fantastiskt läge
Utmärkt läge precis vid torget i Portofino. Nära till Castello Brown och restaurangen och barer samt buss till Santa Marguerita.

Appartement très agréable idéalement situé pour voir de haut l'activité du port et de la place... Proche des petits commerces, il faut dire que Portofino est minuscule et que l'on en fait le tour rapidement.. Un parking central (obligatoire) à 21€ par jour se situe à 200 mètres de l'appartement. Le local central pour les poubelles est difficile à trouver, situé sur la place principale à environ 300 mètres du logement. Check in et check out rapide.

Terrific location!
We enjoyed our stay in the cozy apartment and the views from the windows. The only item we would have liked to have had was a coffee pot so we could have enjoyed a cup before we headed out for the day. We took the boat to San Frattusso to kayak and snorkel near the Christ of the Abyss statue and it was great. We also hiked in very hot weather from Monterossa to Vernazza and the views were amazing. There is a lot to do in the area.

-Camogli occupies the valley to the west of Portofino, overlooking the Golfo Paradiso. It's a typical fishing village, a tourist center known for its harbor and the colorful buildings along the mare. Camogli is famous throughout Europe as the 'City of the Thousand White Sailing Ships'. His extraordinary sailing tradition is in fact one of the more notable tourist attractions.
-San Fruttuoso is set in a deep bay, almost a pearl in the rugged coast of Portofino. It features a magical abbey dating back to the year one thousand, around which there is a small beach, a church, the tower of the Doria and a few fishermen's cottages that are reflected in the emerald blue sea, on a background of dark green pines.
-Cinque Terre are a national park, one of the least contaminated natural areas of the Mediterranean. The human activities, especially the wine growing and the 'dry walls', have create a landscape that is unique in the world. All of this together with a crystalline sea have made the Cinque Terre the favored destination for both Italian and foreign tourists.
