We stayed for a week at Gigliola’s and Adriano’s place and it was the perfect experience for us (two adults plus boys aged 5 & 9). Both hosts welcomed us very warmly and helped with parking which made it easy for us to have a good start to our holiday. The apartment is great and has a nice homely feeling to it. Gigliola and Adriano made lots of suggestions regarding to surrounding sites and we really benefitted from their insights. The apartment is less than 10 minutes’ walk away from the city centre which is a huge benefit since we were able to leave the car behind once we'd arrived at the apartment. I am sure you’ll find a lot of information in travel guides as to what to visit in Como and hence there is little point in writing much here. Just two quick suggestions which we very much enjoyed: 1) Ristorante Piazza Roma – a very good Italian restaurant, we ate there twice. Excellent food quality and very friendly staff, highly recommended. Do ring to book a table beforehand as otherwise you won't be able to get a space 2) Bar San Giuliano, Via Maurizio Monti, 60 – this café / bar is on the way to the city centre (left hand side as you walk from the apartment to the centre) and we had coffee and pastries there every morning when we were venturing out. Super friendly staff, great coffee and pastries and all at a very reasonable price Thanks to Gigliola’s and Adriano’s hospitality and the great things to see in and around Como we had a wonderful stay and would love to go again soon.

Our hosts were very friendly and happy to help with any questions, including helping order a taxi. We were welcomed with homemade jams and felt at home with a family feel to the furniture and decorations. Kitchen well equipped, and we had several nights at home enjoying playing cards on the kitchen table. The apartment was a short walk to the centre of Como, with some interesting local shops on the way, and a very friendly cafe. Como itself was full of cafe, restaurants and shops. Also a route to see lots of other small towns and villas from the many ferries. The ferry seemed quite expensive, but it was like a mini cruise sailing by lovely scenery and villas of the stars! I recommend a stay with Gigliola and Adriano if you are heading for Como.

This apartment is perfect for exploring Como, the lake and beyond, the apartment itself is comfortable and has everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay here with such a beautiful well tended courtyard to sit and enjoy the quiet and peacefulness, yet only a 10 minute walk into Como, the train and bus station and the ferries. The hosts Gigliola and Stefano are very welcoming, very helpful and couldn't do enough for you, I can highly recommend this apartment we had the most amazing time. I must also mention the San Guiliano Caffe it is halfway down the hill from the apartment, the coffee and pastries were fresh and delicious, we stopped there every morning and it was only 11 euros for four of us.

Casa Margherita is a charming and very comfortable apartment close to the centre of Como. The owners are very helpful and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The apartment is very comfortable, clean and well equipped. We stayed in Como for 10 days and had a wonderful time in this lovely city.

Charming traditional villa in idyllic setting near St Peter's square overlooking the church bell tower - just beautiful! Very inviting and welcoming and contains everything needed for a home away from home holiday. The shower is on the small side for larger guests but otherwise does not disappoint. Our hosts were amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them. If we have the opportunity, would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much Gigliola and Andriano - gracie mille! Mary & Rob

Wir haben für einen kleinen Ausflug mit meinen Eltern eine schöne Wohnung am Comer See in Como gesucht. Als ich über die Wohnung von Gigliola und Adriano im Internet gestoßen bin, war ich sofort verliebt. Die Konversation zum Mieten der Wohnung war sehr nett und alles klappte unkompliziert. Wir kamen an einem Dienstag recht früh an - auch das war alles kein Problem. Die Wohnung hat uns in echt dann auch sehr gut gefallen und uns wurde alles, was wir wissen müssen erklärt. Die Wohnung liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Lage und nur einen Katzensprung vom Comer See und der Innenstadt entfernt. Unser Auto haben wir schön komfortabel in der Nähe geparkt und während der 4 Tage nicht vermisst. Alles was wir sehen oder besuchen wollten, konnten wir bequem zu Fuß erreichen. Wir erhielten darüber hinaus auch Tipps, was wir uns unbedingt ansehen sollten, sowie Restaurant-Tipps, die wir auch ausprobiert und mit gutem Essen genossen haben. Es liegen viele Visitenkarten von Gastronomie und Kultur aus, so dass man sich schön daran orientieren kann. Also wer sich vorher auf Como und Umgebung noch nicht vorbereitet hatte, kann es hier gemütlich tun. Als Fazit kann ich nur sagen, wenn wir Como wieder besuchen, würden wir wieder hier buchen. We had 1 week and had a great time the apartment is close to town 10 minute walk and much bigger then we thought it would be, plenty of room for a family of four. No problem parking for free on the road above, if we came back to Como we would use again. great hosts could not ask for more thank you.

We had an unforgettably wonderful time at Como, staying at Gigliola's Casa Margherita! The apartment (which is all on one level in a first floor apartment) is perfectly situated in Como centre (8-10 min leisurely walk to Duomo and gorgeously old historic centre and about 15 min to the breathtaking lake side) and near to pier number 4 where you can happily buy a day or six day pass (six day is very recommended!) to take in all the sites, towns and villas along Lake Como. This apartment is really special and quite exceptional. So close to everything and yet tucked away in a hidden quiet corner overlooking the Chiesa Cattolica Parrocchiale S. Giuliano, the bells of which will welcome you every day! Decorated in the old style with beautiful heavy and dark wood furniture with a real feel of a traditional Italian home. This apartment will become your home from home with comfort, style, space, privacy and elegance and with views that are simply exquisite. You will also have a very romantic secluded patio garden surrounded by lovely flowers which you can spend quiet moments and tranquil evening with the intoxicating and heady scent of jasmine which is a spellbinding signature plant of the region. Gigliola was everything you could possibly want from a perfect host; warm, friendly, kind, generous and helpful, you really will want for nothing. We were truly heartbroken about leaving having had a magically unforgettable week whereby we were made to feel like old friends. Gigliola even gave me a beautiful silk scarf for my birthday which I will treasure. I would recommend this property in a heartbeat for a holiday of a lifetime at Lake Como.

We had a most wonderful time in Como; it is so beautiful, interesting and full of fun.our stay was made all the more memorable by our time in this apartment. It is so lovingly appointed and filled with warmth; we just felt at home here. Giglioni and Adriano were such perfect hosts, the apartment is a reflection of their kindness, and attention to detail. My husband and I from Auckland, NZ and our daughter, husband and grandson from Maidenhead UK will always remember our stay in this beautiful apartment as a portal to this lovely city.
