Exceptional find. Wonderful holiday home with amazing views
We have recently returned from a wonderful week's holiday at Casa Bellavista. Joanna was amazing from start to finish with regular updates and tips, quick responses and always so friendly and helpful. She became an email friend. The house is an exceptional find and when you see what has been achieved from the original ruins to what it is today, it is truly remarkable. We loved everything about it because it is more than a holiday let, it is a home and has everything you need, so well equipped and immaculately clean. The views of Lake Maggiore and surrounding area from the roof top terrace are breathtaking and we made good use of this. We walked down to Stresa every day and walked back up on 4 of the days. We got the taxi back towards the end of the week as the heat was quite intense. I am 68, my husband is 72 and my brother is 66, so we're no spring chickens but reasonably fit and although the walk back is a bit of a pull in places, we just took our time. We prefer not to drive when on holiday. We did some beautiful walks, went on the ferry to the islands a few times and enjoyed the lovely restaurants but also had some meals 'at home'.
I wish I could give this more than 5* and if you are thinking about a holiday in Italy and you appreciate wonderful accommodation with breathtaking views, then this is for you, you will not be disappointed.

Wonderful House
We spent New Years at Casa Bellavista and it was truly magical, especially the view from the rooftop.
The house is located in a sweet little village and everything was as described. Also, we can highly recommend the restaurant La Rampolina, which is just a 15 minute walk away. Very easy and uncomplicated booking. We had a wonderful time and we would love to return there.

Spacious house with spectacular lake views
We’ve spent a wonderful week at Casa Bellavista. This village house has been lovingly renovated into a stylish, comfortable home with views from the balcony and roof terrace which are out of this world. We were two couples and the space worked very well for us having bedrooms and bathrooms on two of the floors. The rooms are very well furnished and equipped, with all the comforts of home including excellent WiFi. The local restaurant, Il Cardini was a real gem and we enjoyed delicious meals there on several occasions, we were able to buy some provisions there too which was very convenient as we didn’t have a car. The ristorante owners Patrizia and Lorenzo were so helpful and friendly. We walked into Stresa each day, we caught ferries to the islands and the scenic train to Locarno and ferry back, all of which we would recommend. If you don’t have a car make sure you have the number for a taxi to take you back up the hill to Someraro! It’s a long walk at the end of a full day. We recommend Mauro who is very reliable and speaks excellent English. Joanna has been incredibly helpful throughout the booking process and we are very grateful to her for making our stay at Casa Bellavista as stress free and enjoyable as possible.

Wunderbares Haus, grandiose Aussicht
Unglaublich gut und hochwertig ausgestattetes Haus, liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Aussicht aus dem Wohnbereich und von der Dachterrasse auf die drei Inseln im Lago Maggiore ist fantastisch. Ausgesprochen freundliche und hilfreiche Hausbesitzer.

Great house
This house was obviously renovated and decorated with extreme planning skills and a lot of passion by the landlord, making it a cosy and lovely place. Joanna was in touch before, during and after our stay and gave all recommandations one may need for enjoying time and not struggle with minor details whilst arriving to an unknown place.
As a person fond of cooking, I could find all the equipment. appliances and cutlery for preparing excellent meals and enjoying lunches on the roof terrace.
I may just make a couple of remarks for the travelers willing to rent this house; Its ingenius construction was based on getting unforgettable views on the lake, but people with physical disabilities should refrain from choosing it because of the stairs. In addition, we went in mid-March and unfortunately almost all local POI were closed.
It was anyway a lovely place to be in and we will come back to this house with great pleasure.

Amazing house, amazing views
Once we found the house (a little tricky & very narrow roads) we were blown away by the house. It is truly amazing, very luxurious with the most amazing views that you could never tire of.
The Borromean islands are well worth a visit as is Lake Orta. Stresa itself has some cute shops to wander around.
Joanna was a pleasure to deal with, very friendly and helpful. I had to contact her during our stay with a problem with the wifi and she responded very quickly.
Well worth a stay.

Magnificent house with a splendid view
Our stay at Casa Bellavista was indeed fantastic. The house is very pleasant to stay in. It has all you need in terms of modern amenities and then some. The roof top terrace and the views it offers are absolutely amazing. The nearby town of Stresa is very quaint and has good restaurants and a supermarket. A boat trip to the Borromean Islands and a trip up to the Mottarone Mountain by Cable car are really funny activities for the whole family. My family and I really enjoyed ourselves and the very friendly owners provided all the information and help you could possibly need. We can fully recommend a stay in this lovely house.

Beautiful house with the most amazing views
We have just enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing family holiday in Casa Bellavista. The house is quirky, comfortable and enjoys the most beautiful ever-changing views over Lake Maggiore and a small cluster of islands. Breakfasts and suppers were eaten on the terrace with everyone exclaiming about the wonderful outlook. Joanna could not have been more helpful and accommodating and we followed recommendations for outings and restaurants - all excellent. A perfect holiday. Thanks you Joanna

Perfect views and great place
Booking of this excellent property was very easy and the owner was most helpful. After paying the last installment, I was provided with details on how to get there and other practicalities. There is a great binder in the house describing all the details of heating system, the quirky Italian electrical system and loads of useful information.
The house in very well dispositioned, making the best of the views and thoughtful and respectfully renovated. Sleeping quality is excellent and it is so tranquil. In the evenings we donned a coat and were sitting on the roof terrace looking at the lights around the lake - very relaxing.
The views over the Borromean islands are fantastic, and as we were blessed with the most fantastic autumn weather, we could breakfast every morning on the roof terrace.
The house is located on a bend of a fairly narrow road. Even though there are two parking spaces just opposite, I would sat that the best option is to park 50 meters down the road, where there is 5-6 excellent parking places - and most likely a vacant.
It's a 25 minutes walk down to Stresa from the house, which is located in the small village of Somerano. A takes little bit longer up, but the kids actually walked up several times. If we had stayed late in Stresa we took a taxi up - it only sets you back 15 €.
The Mottarone cable car runs just close, and it's a 25 minutes walk to the station down at the lake. In the mornings we were placing bets on how many were in the cars going up and down.
The cable car passes just over Cardini, which is a charming family run restaurant (also selling a few basic amenities, if you arrive late and don't bother to go shopping).
We even took the train to Milan one day, which is very easy from Stresa - the trip takes 70 minutes to Milano Centrale, running on a scenic route along the lake much of the distance.
If possible, we would definitely like to return.
