Our second visit to this stunning property,albeit eight years apart. The Coat of Arms is an excellent one bedroom apartment in a stunning property. Navacchio is a small village with a couple of local restaurants,food shops (cold cuts and cheese),Enoteca and bars and three supermarkets in walking distance. The village is on the Pisa to Florance train line so an ideal base for travelling around Tuscany and beyond, and a reliable bus service.Special mention though to Donatella and Antonio who have lovingly restored the property and are such brilliant hosts

Italian Paradise The whole our family felt in love with The coat of arms. Donatella and Antonio are exceptional hosts. Everything what you need is in the house. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The villa is amazing. It has such a positive energy! The garden is so welcoming that you will be always tempted to have dinner there. This is a very happy place. I will not repeat the previous reviews, but will say only you have to come and experience in person the Italian paradise of the Coad of Arms. We do hope to come again and see our Friends-Donatella and Antonio.

L'endroit est merveilleux. Un véritable palais toscan avec un escalier magistral aux peintures datant du XVI et XVII siècle. Le jardin est également magnifique. Idéalement situé à proximité de Pise, Lucca et de la mer, mais également des cinq terres et de Florence. L'accueil est chaleureux. Donatella parle très bien le français et donne l'impression que vous êtes ses invités. Un très agréable séjour.

Un posto incredibile di proprietà di due persone molto gentili, disponibili e attente ai particolari (un calo delle temperature e abbiamo trovato fuori la porta del nostro appartamento una coperta in più, more appena raccolte e il bigliettino di accompagnamento). Se si ama e si apprezza l'arte italiana questo è il posto giusto. Anche se si ama la tranquillità. Ho portato con me il mio cane, il posto è perfetto per fare lunghe passeggiate e la posizione è ottima per raggiungere molte delle città d'Italia. Ho salutato questo posto a malincuore, spero di tornarci!

Two things make this rental unique - the accommodation and the hosts. It is easy to imagine that one has become part of Italian nobility, two or three centuries ago, as one steps through the doors from the unassuming street in Navacchio into the huge stone paved entrance hall and from there via an equally imposing hallway to see the grand fresco lined stairs with the entrance to the apartment adjoining it. The apartment itself cannot be described as luxurious but is comfortable and contains everything one needs to make it a very suitable holiday apartment. We travelled without a car but were able to get around easily using the train and bus visiting Pisa itself, Lucca, Volterra and Florence with a day relaxing in the huge garden accompanied only by a vocal and clearly well loved cat, who, nevertheless, was quick to put one in one's place if she felt you were taking liberties. From the moment Antonio met us at the airport (their suggestion, not ours) until he returned us there a week later Antonio and Donatella proved perfect hosts, never obtrusive but always on hand to answer questions or provide help. Most of the information we needed in the shape of timetables and guide books in English was in the apartment and Donatella was always happy to fill in any gaps as well as filling us in on the history of the house and her plans for the future. For a unique and different rental for those who appreciate Italian culture, you will not go wrong here.

Derrière une grande façade se cache un palais toscan, dont Donatella et Antonio sont les hôtes. D'une extrême gentillesse, d'une grande disponibilité, d'une grande culture (la visite de la Villa et de ses fresques vaut les visites plus officielles) aux petits soins pour les vacanciers que nous étions (avec deux ados), Donatella et Antonio ont illuminé nos vacances toscanes. La Villa est idéalement placée, à deux pas de Pise et à moins d'une heure de Sienne, Florence, Lucca, San Gimigniano... et même des Cinque Terre pour ceux qui veulent faire une escapade en Ligurie. L'appartement que nous avions à notre disposition est très confortable, très calme, avec une excellente literie et des murs suffisamment épais pour filtrer le soleil toscan. Nous avons pu largement profiter de l'ombre des grandes arbres du jardin pour un moment de quiétude entre deux visites de la région. En résumé, une tellement belle adresse qu'on a envie de la partager, comme un secret privilégié.

A fabulous opportunity to step back in time into Italian history. What an amazing place owned by a beautiful lady dedicated to restore her home to show and share the wonders hidden over many years. If you love and appreciate Italian art this is the place to be. Very good location for getting to many of Italy's towns and cities with excellent public transport. Donatella helped us with all the information we needed as well as picking us up from the airport and providing some welcomed goodies. Definitely a place we will return to. One tip take some mosquito repellant!

My husband & I stayed here for our honeymoon in September. It is a villa full of character; from the sweeping staircase to the amazing frescos on the walls & ceilings. Quiet & peaceful location and yet only 6 mins by train to Pisa. We had a wonderful holiday and look forward to returning in the future.

When I booked this earlier this year the reviews helped reassure me that this was a good place to stay. They did not prepare me for how overwhelmed I would be when I saw the place. It is more than an apartment, it's like staying in a piece of history. The photos cannot show you how large the entrance hall is, how high the ceilings are, how thick the walls are or how beautiful the frescos are. I thought it was separate to the main house: it isn't. The gardens are beautiful and the children loved the table tennis. My children are 12 and 14 and they loved it here but the gardens would be fantastic for younger ones. Donatella and Antonio are so helpful, lifts to and from the station and so much more with helpful advice, everything you need is there. We didn't have a car, we didn't need it. Public transport is cheap and regular and air conditioned. Pisa, Lucca, Florence, the beach are all within easy reach. If like I was, you are looking for something special, stay here.

We had a fantastic two weeks staying here. The house is lovely & has been restored by the owners with amazing frescoes in the main hall & stairs. The apartment was nice & cool after sightseeing in the heat &'has wifi & a washing machine which was great. It also has a beautiful garden which we could sit & eat out in. The owners were very nice & gave us a lift to & from the airport & also to a large supermarket on the first day. It was 15 mins walk to the train station & we had many day trips including Lucca,Casina,Florence, Sienna,Cinque Terre, San Maniato & Pisa. It was easy & cheap to get around by train - Pisa was only 9 mins away - so didn't need a car.
