Excellent location in a quiet area. The apartment has a large sunny private terrace with access to communal gardens and pool. Delightful views towards the sea. We were greeted on arrival by the friendly manager Dinis who answered any queries we had and showed us where everything was. Very well equipped for our needs and spotlessly clean. We did not hire a car and walked to the beach, marina and the old town of Lagos with its very pretty streets. Amazing choice of beach bars, cafes, restaurants and reasonably priced too. Small mini market and large supermarket also within walking distance. A super break and the weather was excellent!

We both had a great stay at Alba Vilas. The apartment has everything needed for an excellent stay. The area was surprisingly quiet yet so many areas were within easy reach. We decided not to rent a car so we walked everywhere. The beach was an easy walk and Lagos was within walking distance. The apartment was spacious and the pool was a good size. The veranda was great for sitting out on with a lovely view of the sea in the distance.

Alba Vilas is in a fantastic location near the Marina in Lagos. It was immaculate and has had some recent updates. There is a terrace with a table and a gate down to the shared garden and pool with sea views. Lagos is an interesting town with lots of good restaurants and a long sandy beach with lots to do.

Beautiful spacious 2 bedroom apartment. Everything you need for a relaxing stay. Quiet location with lovely gardens and pool area yet only 10 minute walk to Lagos marina and 10-15 minutes to Meia Praia beach. We will definitely aim to stay here again. Sian Morgan.

A fantastic property with a perfect setting. Situated within close proximity to the local beach and a host of amazing restaurants. Janet and Nick are the most wonderful hosts and will give lots of advice on where to go and what to see. It made our trip so much simpler even down to car rentals. The villa itself is very spacious and comfortable. It is very clean and has everything you can wish for if not more! The pool is superb and has plenty of space for sun lounging. The local supermarket and shops are all walkable too! I would definitely look to come back here in the future. A fantastic place to stay!

Having had such a great time last September, we returned to Alba Vilas in May. Yet again, we couldn’t fault any aspect of the apartment. It was spotlessly clean and we loved spending time there. This time there were four of us for some of the time instead of two, but there was still plenty of space for us all and it worked really well. Even when there was a slight wind, the apartment’s patio is always sheltered and the pool was never busy at this time of year either. Our favourite restaurants were still Fernandos and Dos Artistas but we also enjoyed a nice lunch at Bar Quim, along the beach, recommended by the owner Jan. There are still many more restaurants we want to try. Jan is very efficient, replies to all queries promptly and is always prepared to give help and advice. We enjoyed having a car this time and being able to visit some other places along the coast. However, we were very pleased to return to Lagos. Great garden and views, no more than 15 minutes walk to the beach, marina or old town, what more can you want for a week away? It has us captured! We fully intend to return again next year.

Appartement spacieux / Agréable / propre et bien équipé. Grande terrasse bien exposée. A notre arrivée dans le logement une bouteille de bienvenue nous attendait que nous avons dégusté avec plaisir. La région de Lagos est magnifique avec ces criques et ces balades.

Just spent 10 days here with our 2 children. The apartment is spacious and modern and thoroughly kitted out with everything you could need! It’s well placed for a walk into Lagos town, the beach and the (massive!) supermarket and also has its own lovely private terrace. We thought we were taking a gamble with the weather but it was beautiful in October (around 26 degrees).

A perfect, enjoyable & relaxing week in the sun. The Apartment had everything we required and the many restaurants in the old town of Lagos & the nearby beach provided sumptuous food & drink. We can recommend the Car Hire Company "Drive4Fun" too. We'll be back! H&E&J

We were so lucky to find Alba Vilas as we only booked about 3 weeks before we wanted to go on holiday, leaving on 17th September. From start to finish Jan and Nick made the booking and arrival process as easy as they possibly could, always being very helpful and prompt in their responses. Although we had visited Portugal before we hadn't been to Lagos, so were uncertain what we would find. However, we loved it and will certainly go back. The apartment, as detailed by everyone else who has reviewed it, really is brilliant. It's spacious, modern, well fitted out and spotlessly clean. There were just two of us but with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen, huge lounge and well appointed patio, which got the sun all day long, there would be plenty of room for at least four people to enjoy this great property. We particularly liked the well kept garden, lots of beautiful birds and a great sized swimming pool, that at this time of year, we were often the only ones using! We only had to call Dinnis once (on hand to help locally) and he came very quickly, for something that was actually our mistake! We didn't hire a car but used a very friendly and efficient transfer company called Mystic Algarve Transfers which cost €75 each way on the motorway (about 50 minutes) or €63 each way on the national road (about 70 minutes). To be honest, we really didn't need a car as the beach, Marina and Lagos old town were all in easy walking distance and the small shop, almost at the end of the road, provided all our essential provisions. The 3 mile long beach was great, very clean, uncrowded and had a number of nice beach bars along it. We love eating out and there are numerous good choices in Lagos. Of those we tried, we could certainly recommend Dos Artistas if you like fine dining, great service and unusual food (a little more expensive than most but well worth it in our opinion). Another called Fernandos, a simple restaurant very near the Fish Market, specialising in steak, provided a fabulous chateaubriand for a very reasonable 30 Euros for two people. (The quality was clearly evidenced by the fact that we couldn't get in until Friday night, despite first trying on Monday!) We have already ear marked many more that we would like to try on our return. Our only disappointment was a quick decision, provoked by tiredness, to try Portofino's in the Marina on our first night. This was terrible quality food and the service was dreadful. However as the only poor experience in our whole week, we will not be dwelling on it!
