Relaxing home away from home in the sun!
The villa was a joy. On arrival it was a beautiful site, the landscaping was wonderful, very welcoming. Access to the villa was easy with the instructions given and the interior was cool and welcoming. All mod cons were provided to a high standard and nothing was left wanting. - all you had to do was get changed and jump into the wonderful pool.
The pool was warm and inviting no matter what time of the day it was, a pool lit swim in a must.
Silves was only a 10 minute drive down the road and the supermarkets there provided anything you needed if you were eating in.
A visit to Bistro Rainha has to be done, a great recommendation from the list of business cards in the villa.
The beds are very comfortable and the air conditioning is great.
A wonderful place to kick back and relax from the stresses of every day life. I wish I was there now!!!

Best villa experience ever!
This was our third visit to Casa Mira and it was better than ever. The facilities really are excellent, they have thought of everything. The pool and gardens are breathtaking and very private and the bistro tables and lounge sets in various areas around the building mean you can still get some "alone time" if travelling in a larger group.
If you prefer to self cater, there are full cooking facilities indoors or a bbq provided (subject to fire risk conditions) There is an indoor market in Silves and a couple of supermarkets for all you could possibly need.
There's a beautiful sunrise across the hills from the upstairs side terrace if you can manage to be up early enough, the camera on my phone didn't do it justice or I would have included it.
You do need a car, although Bistro Rainha is about a 20 min walk along the rural back road for excellent Sunday lunch or evening meal , there is no pavement so I wouldn't do it after dark.
Since our last visit, some investment seems to have been made in lovely historic Silves, the nearest town, with many bars and restaurants having opened or been refurbished, so there are definitely enough well priced places to eat and drink within a 15 minute drive and the coast is about 25 mins.
All in all, a lovely relaxing holiday which we hope to repeat as soon as we can, if they have availability.

A little slice of paradise
We stayed at Casa Mira with friends for two weeks in the beginning of July. If you are thinking about booking this villa just do it, you will not be disappointed.
It was by far the cleanest, best equipped villa we have ever stayed at. The villa is spacious, the grounds are well kept and the pool is fantastic, very clean and a lovely temperature. The owner does everything in his power to make sure you feel welcome and have all necessary information. He is very quick to respond to emails before and during your stay.
Silves is a lovely little town with some great restaurants. The castle is also worth a visit. We thoroughly enjoyed the Taverna Portugesa, Atelier 47 and Bistro Rainha. There are plenty of supermarkets in Silves. We found that Albufeira, Portimao, Lagos and other towns are easily reached by car. You do need a car as Casa Mira is not within walking distance of any amenities. Silves is a short drive (5-10 minutes) from the villa as are the beaches (the ones we visited 20-30 minutes).
Usually we never contemplate returning anywhere we stayed, but upon departure all four of us agreed that we would love to be able to go back to Casa Mira someday.

Beautiful Villa
Highly recommended villa one of the best we have stayed you need transport but that aside beautiful gardens beautiful safe location up in the hills just 7 km from silves in silves all you need for food no chemist local doctor there’s Lidl and Aldi restaurants recommended are Victoria’s in silves atalhia 47 and close to the villa 3 km away is bistro rainha good for good dishes I will attach menu and they accommodated are 6 year old with plain pasta good prices as well but the villa there is nothing you need to bring plenty towels big and small even t towels food is all you need and your own toiletries the pool we got heated this means you have a warm pool early morning to late night 20 euro a day maybe not needed in June July or august look all I can say we have stayed in plenty of villas over the years but this one tops them all nothing to far if you have a car we even ate in alberfuria villamoura counveria all only 15 mins drive must recommend the pirates boat and the sun boat cruise up the river to silves brilliant for the little ones saw an Irish family with 5 kids form 0 to 6 on the pirate boat the staff couldn’t help enough what we notice is the villa is no more than at its max 20 mins form all the resorts and attractions good location and out in the silves hills try to find the dam only 3 km from the villa the views are unreal so in a nut shell book this villa book a car and you won’t regret it

Eerste keer, 3 weken in Casa Mira, zo goed bevallen dat we het verblijf voor 2021 ook al hebben geboekt! Rust, zon, goede voorzieningen. Prettige communicatie met de eigenaar, aanrader voor iedereen die een heerlijke vakantie zoekt.

So good I had to visit twice!
A beautiful villa set away from the Algarve's main tourist areas but close enough by car to enjoy them if you want.
The gardens are stunning, the villa is tastefully decorated and superbly clean and the swimming pool is fabulous (both with heating and without).
The villa and grounds are very well maintained, comfortable and every detail is catered for.
I visited in March and October 2019, the weather was amazing on both trips. March was early in the season and not everything was open but October proved very different.
The town of Silves is close by and worth a visit, the castle is stunning and the little restaurants and bars dotted around are very welcoming. There are two well stocked supermarkets in Silves but don't forget to stop at stalls by the side of the road for your fruit and veg or visit the market, you won't regret it!
Peter and family provide a very informative and helpful book that answers all your questions but direct communication with them has always been fantastic too.
I had never been to Portugal before but it stole my heart and Casa Mira wrapped it up in a ribbon and put a cherry on top! Loved it!!

2nd visit - happy stay - heated pool was a huge hit
back again. Superb communication from Peter in the UK and Susie in the Algarve. Very clean villa and pool area. Has all you need, but the icing on the cake is the heated pool and outdoor area. A very relaxing lazy week.....Thanks Peter, just what we needed.

Great Villa Silves
Difficult to add anything to previous excellent reviews.
Lovely spacious villa in great location - peaceful location but still close to nearby restaurants/ supermarkets etc.
Great pool and large landscaped garden outside; clean and well equipped inside.
All backed up by great information and communication from Peter the owner.
Highly recommend!

Great villa
Just returned from a lovely family break at Casa Mira, the property has everything we needed for an enjoyable stay, we managed to visit quite a few places on the Algarve. Casa Mira is as good as it looks in the photos, is very clean and well equipped, with lovely gardens, terraces and pool area. Peter was great throughout the booking process, answering any questions we had and supplying good quality information about the property and detailed driving instructions. We hope to return again soon.
