A little piece of gem!!
We wish we could keep this little piece of gem all to ourselves, so that it will not be overbooked when we want to come and stay, but that would have been very selfish of us! The apartment that we stayed was the one downstairs, and it was built in a restored building dated back to 1850. The design is sublime, simple, yet elegant and functional in every aspect. We would have loved to include some photos to show the beauty and uniqueness of this place, but unfortunately, there isn't an option for us to do so here. The Owner was very generous in providing sufficient supply of coffee (different kinds from Greek to Italian and Nespresso), tea, creamer, butter, jam and crackers in the apartment. We could see the sea from the huge airy outdoor veranda. We only wish we had time to stay longer. It was so cosy and comfortable, and all the amenities we needed were working excellently well. This, definitely is a place many would like to call "Home". Highly recommended for those who want to really relax and rest.

amazing downstairs apartment Melanopetra , Nisyros Greece
We had a great stay at this amazing Melanopetra Apartment!!! The place is just perfect! The view is just breathtaking, The only sound you hear is from goats and cows ! The apartment has been restored beautifully! The only taverna The Balcony in te village is fantastic , overlooking the vulcano of Nisyros. Just book in time the apartment is a must if you want somrthing special !

Excellent design, unique atmosphere, stunning view!
it is just amazing how beautifully this small hotel combines traditional architecture and aesthetics with modern design and all comforts. The built and physical environment is so original and the calmness it inspires really great. In the villlage there are the two best traditional restaurants and the best cafe-bar of the island in a 50-100m distance. The supplies and amenities are more than expected and what we liked most is the nespresso machine and the small breakfast amenities which allowed us to enjoy a big part of the day in the apartment and the big shady courtyard with this great sea view.

Schwerer Aufstieg - Unschlagbare Aussicht
Das Apartment liegt oben auf dem Kraterrand im Geisterdorf Emporios. Das Auto stellt man am Dorfeingang ab, den Rest des Weges führt über eine sehr anspruchsvolle Treppe zum Ziel, mit ihren unterschiedlich hohen Stufen und zusätzlichen Steigungen nicht einfach. Man hat dann eine fantastische Aussicht über die Insel in Richtung Meer auf der wunderschönen Terrasse.
Die Ausstattung bietet das nötigste, in der Küche findet sich ein Herd mit zwei Platten, ein Kühlschrank und ein 500ml-Wasserkocher. Wer im Apartment kochen möchte, sollte vorher gucken, was mit der Ausstattung möglich ist. Es gibt einen Fernseher, WiFi (das wilde Geblinke kann man für eine ruhige Nacht gut hinter ein paar Büchern verstecken) und ein sehr schön eingerichtetes Bad. Das Dorf an sich ist einen Spaziergang wert, wieder mit vielen Treppen und Steigungen bestückt, aber man wird mit einem weiteren sensationellen Blick auf den Krater belohnt, außerdem ist die Atmosphäre in dem seit dem Erdbeben von 1933 fast ausgestorbenen Dorf sehr spannend.
Als Hinweis noch: Ein Auto zu mieten macht wirklich Sinn, denn vom Hauptdorf der Insel nach hier oben ist es ein weiter Weg! Deshalb mache ich keine Angabe zur Wegbeschreibung, der Autovermieter (Manos, die geben auch den Wohnungsschlüssel heraus) war so nett und ist uns nicht nur voraus gefahren, sondern hat sogar noch den schweren Koffer hoch getragen!
