schöne Zimmer an fantastischer Lage direkt am Meer
Das schöne Haus liegt direkt an einem Meerarm, ca 30. Min von Stockholm entfernt. Ideal, wenn man nach einem Stadttag wieder Ruhe möchte. Unser Zimmr war mit Meerblick, das der Kinder auf einer Seite auch. Sehr grosszügige Zimmer. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und haben die Offenheit und Freundlichkeit der Gastgeber sehr geschätzt. Karina und ihre Freunde muss man einfach mögen, sie sind alle so sympatisch! Wir hatten die Möglichkeit, die Sauna mitzubenutzen und hätten auch die kleine Privatbucht in Anspruch nehmen können. Leider war das Wetter zu kalt. Wir würden die Zimmer sofort wieder buchen.

Beautiful setting, welcoming host
We came and stayed with Karina at Solsidans after a busy few days in the lovely city of Stockholm. The house is around 15-20 minutes walk from the bus service (currently replacing train service) into Stockholm, which is takes half an hour, so it would be easy to use the house as a sightseeing base. However, we came to wind down after lots of sightseeing and found ourselves in a lovely house, with a pleasant garden with the Baltic at the bottom of it. We were able to relax, enjoy refreshing dips in the sea, kayaking, walks in the forest with the deer and blueberries, a trip out to Uto in the archipelago and to feel quite at home. Karina, Michael and their friends were welcoming and eager to help with lifts, advice and food. We were encouraged to make ourselves at home and, after showing us where the breakfast things were on the first day, Karina encouraged us to help ourselves as and when we wanted. She was also generous sharing her food and providing us with meals until we were able to pick up provisions of our own. Do not expect to be waited on hand and foot here, rather feel as though you are invited to be part of someone's beautiful, uncluttered home in a gorgeous location with wonderful views. Both adults and teenagers had a great time.

Fabulous location and great hospitality
We had a really terrific time staying at this beautiful house situated right on the Baltic coast with only a 20-25 minute journey into Stockholm. The house is really a lovely place to stay and the owner and friends are most welcoming and gracious hosts. I am sure we will be back.

A truly memorable holiday.
We had a fantastic week, splitting our time between city centre attractions and stunning edge-of-the archipelago experiences – swimming in the Baltic, plunging into the sea from the diving board in the garden, a day in and out of the sauna, kayaking, walking and blueberry-picking in the forest. Karina was so generous in allowing us to use her kitchen and equipment (although we had a small kitchen upstairs in the self-contained three-room flat), providing a delicious Swedish breakfast outdoors by the water on sunny mornings or admiring the view from her dining room when it was cooler. Karina was always welcoming and helped us make the most of our stay. We would return for a future holiday here without any reservations.
Thanks to the excellent public transport in and out of Stockholm - normally by train but bus during our stay as the train line was under repair - it was easy to explore the best of that wonderful city as well. We loved wandering around Gamla Stan and visiting wonderful museums (the Vasa, Nordske, Skansen and the History Museum) and the city centre islands with boats and water everywhere.

friendly and helpful

An unforgettable and unique experience in a beautiful setting!
What a location! It ended up being the perfect place for us to stay during our 2 week visit to Sweden this September. We spent most days in Stockholm, so it was a pleasure to return to the serenity and beauty of this gracious and refined old house with spectacular water views from almost every window We rented a car and it was an easy 30 minute drive into Stockholm for us. On warmer days we had wine and beer in the evening on the private dock directly on the water and watched the sun set over the water. We did not get a chance to use the kayaks but we did use the sauna. We loved simply walking to the end of the road directly on to scenic hiking trails along the water and through woods. The rocky shoreline with great vistas reminded us of coastal Maine, where we live.
Our third floor suite consisted of 1 large bedroom with a very comfortable queen sized bed (also where the small bathroom was located, with toilet and sink) plus a second small bedroom with a single bed plus a comfortable living room where the TV was. The living room had two sofas with lots of pillows that were also places to sleep. The suite was not elegant but it was definitely quaint and cozy and completely private and quiet. We had a small refrigerator, microwave, sink and coffee maker, so it was easy to enjoy informal meals while we relaxed and watched TV or were on-line – The internet connection was strong with no problems connecting.
Our host Michael could not have been more helpful, attentive and accommodating. I would describe staying here as an informal, more “family style” arrangement. We got to know the little family dog (named Texas) quite well, and we went to the second floor to take showers or baths in an elegant bathroom suite also used by the family. We were encouraged to use the family’s beautifully equipped main kitchen and share the refrigerator on the first floor to make our meals – which we happily did, several times. If we wanted to wash our clothes, Michael was more than happy to show is how to use the washing machine, also used by the family. All in all, staying here was an unforgettable and unique experience in a beautiful setting!

Stunning location and gorgeous views at this friendly bed and breakfast
A stunning location in a beautiful, quiet suburb of Stockholm. Close enough to get into Stockholm centre on a local train/bus very quickly. Helpful, friendly, vegetarian owner with excellent English. Huge garden and waterside deck (with sunbeds and chairs) for swimming and sunbathing. Two sets of tables and chairs in the garden and another down on the deck at the water's edge - eating breakfast outside is wonderful. Our two teenagers loved jumping off the deck and diving board and watching some local boats/kayakers going by. A special and relaxing place to stay.
