Good value and excellent view
We found the property to be excellent value for money. The property was basic, but clean. The view was fantastic and we felt we had made the right decision to stay here. The apartment was peaceful apart from heaing a concert from the fortress on Saturday night, but this ended at 10:00 pm. The owner was helpful when we decided to reduce our stay from 3 nights to 2, so that we could stay in Flam hostel for a night on route from Oslo.
The Norway in a Nutshell trip from Oslo to Bergen is a great way of seeing the fantastic scenery in Norway. However, we recommend booking each part of the journey separately, as it saves money. The fyords and rail journeys can be booked online, and the bus journey (Gudvangen to Voss) is paid in cash on the bus (only 59 NOK).
We also recommend the funicular up to Mount Floyen with a walk down. Greig's house and piano concert is also worth a visit for music lovers,
We were not expecting Bergen to be so busy with tourists. We assume this was because of the number of cruise boats docked. Be aware that Bergen has more rainy than sunny days.

Wonderful experience
Bergen is worth staying for some days, we were lucky to be there for the international sailing ships gathering.
From our window and balcony we could see them , admire the firework and the top of Bryggen area.
The apartment is situated in the center and yet quiet area, near to all facilities.
We missed direct contact with neighbors or owner, but understand that it is holiday time, also for Norwegians !

Beware of misleading and incomplete pre and post contract disclosures.
We have waited for several months to write this review to give the owner time to make good on a written mutually agreed resolution of a refund. He has failed to do so, despite civil and repeated efforts on our part and on the part of TripAdvisor on our behalf. We spent only one night (Sept. 30, 2018) in this place, checking out early the next morning after discovering illegal, unsafe conditions, including an inaccessible fire escape on an inaccessible balcony blocked by construction scaffolding and a jumble of construction debris. We discovered these conditions about 11 p.m on that rainy Sunday night, leading to a worrisome and restless night.
First, you should know that we would have rated this accommodation as average if the unsafe conditions were not present and we had not had the subsequent experience we have had with Trond W. Here are some things mentioned in some other reviews that we agree are accurate. It is centrally located in a steep, quaint neighborhood close to many tourist sites. It is cozy, particularly because, of the 530 claimed square feet, only about 50% of that area, tucked under the steep roof, is arrayed in a manner that an average size human can stand up in. It was clean. The peek-a-boo views are pleasant. Access to the unit is up four flights of narrow, corkscrew wooden stairs, which added to our fire concerns.
It was not until a written communication from Trond W, well after we had paid in advance for several days lodging and less than a week before we arrived, that he mentioned that a construction scaffolding on the "facade" of the building might impact our use of the balcony. He did not mention that it would also block any access to the fire escape or that the balcony was a junk pile for the construction underway. He also did not mention that construction workers would appear on the scaffolding in the early morning of our first and only restless night in the unit, hammering away on the exterior walls. Alarmed by the fire escape situation, even earlier on Oct.1 one of us visited the Bergen fire department where a fire inspector said that the conditions described would violate local laws and regulations for rental units. I also took numerous pictures of the unsafe conditions.
After a number of communications between us and Trond, he agreed in writing to a refund amount, less than we thought was justified but close enough that we agreed and provided him with the refund address information he requested. Now, almost four months and many more communications later without response, no payment has been made and our patience has expired.
We would never rent from this individual again and advise caution for those who do.

Fijn, zeer centraal gelegen dakappartement
Fijn, compleet ingericht appartement. Direct onder het dak. Met daardoor geen buren. Alleen onderburen. Daardoor heerlijk stil vanuit het gebouw zelf. Van buiten hoor je soms wat geroep op straat.
Zeer centraal gelegen in Bergen. Je loopt in vijf minuutjes naar de Bryggen. Prachtig uitzicht vanuit het appartement over de stad.
En wat voor een stad! Prachtig! Leuk om doorheen te lopen. Aanrader het KODE- museum. Wij waren in KODE 3 en 4. O.a Munch, Krog, Astrup. Echt top!
En je kunt er zelfs glutenvrij eten. Bijv. bij Olivia’s en zelfs op de fisketoget (bord vol schelpdieren).

Great location
The location of this apartment is perfect, and the view is great! Getting into the rental was easy, and Trond supplied a lot of information about the unit, things to do in town, where to get groceries and recommendations on where to eat. It is up a couple flights of stairs and the ceilings are low, but that was all very clear up front, no surprises. Excellent value.

Great location, perfect for family stay
Prior to the trip, Trond was very informative and gave clear instructions. Knowing where markets were was very helpful. As you will read, it is on the top floor and four flights of steps will get you there, but we can handle them. Ceiling is sloped with the roof, so you must be aware of your surrounding, but again, no issue. Short walk to the funicular and fishmarket, both of which we enjoyed. Kids loved the playground up top at the funicular. Norway is very expensive, and the value of this accommodation was clear. Good laundry facilities, dryer was very appreciated. Windows all open for fresh air, the weather was great. If we return to Bergen, we would absolutely stay here again.

Traumhafte Sicht in zentraler Lage
Die Wohnung bietet eine traumhaften Blick über Bergen. Wir waren davon total begeistert! Zwischen unseren Touren haben wir uns dort und auf dem kleinen Balkon (für 2 Stühle) wunderbar erholen können.
Obwohl wir zu viert angereist sind, war es in der Wohnung mit Dachschräge nicht zu eng. Die kleinen Schlafzimmer sind kuschelig und haben gemütiche Betten. Die Küchenausstattung ist gut. Nur die Duschkabine ist sehr eng. Da man 3 Etagen erklimmen muss, sollte man keine Gehprobleme haben.
In unmittelbarer Nähe gibt es Supermärkte, Cafes, Restaurants, Post und Aportheke. In 3 Minuten kann man zu Fuß Bryggen erreichen.
Trond ist ein sehr netter Gastgeber, der unsere Anfragen immer freundlich beantwortet hat.
Insgesamt ein toller Aufenthalt. Wir würden gerne wieder kommen.

Great location
The apartment is walking distance to the Fish Market, shops, restaurants, the Funicular and great hiking up Mt. Floyen. The only thing to note is the flat is on the top floor of the building (hence the great views). Perfect place if you manage a few stairs. Lovely surroundings and picturesque neighborhood. As with fully equip kitchen utensil.

Great location close to the city center
We enjoyed our stay at the apt. The location was very good. There were 3 adults. Beds were comfortable however the bedrooms were quite small. Sitting space included a sofa which we could all fit on to view the TV. No other sitting space other than chairs at the kitchen table . Nicely equipped small kitchen. Grocery store was nearby although not on the same street .Nice view of the city and even saw fireworks one night. A short walk to the city center which from the apt was downhill. Glad you warned us about the stairs up to the apt. It was a bit of a climb. Apt was clean. Bathroom with a heated floor was nice. The old town of Bergen was fun to see and we enjoyed the museum and the history of the city.

Great location small apartment for light travelers
Great location with nice view of Bergen. Most attractions at walking distance. Very quiet neighborhood.Very clean and comfy beds.Unable to get TV channels. Located at third floor, the stairs are a challenge with medium or large luggage.
