A beautiful tranquil rural cottage in the heart of the Limousin countryside, for those who like to be at one with nature and still only a few minutes drive from bars, restaurants & shops, with accommodation for up to 6 people in 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin room with 2 beds. In addition there is a lounge with TV, wc, shower room, kitchen-diner, garden.
The local area boasts 2 beaches and the magnificent Lac de Vassiviere with 100 hectares of water is only 30 minutes from the gite, offering activities that include fishing and water sports. The stunning countryside of the Limousin is also perfect for walkers and bike riders and there are local companies offering pony trekking.
The city of Limoges - famous for porcelain and enamels - is approximately 40 minutes drive from St Julien le Pe...

Something for everyone in a beautiful gite.
Where to start, we had such a perfect week. Thank you Dave and Maria. Cherry cottage is beautiful and had all the necessary amenities.
We stayed with 4 children varying in ages from 2 - 13 and there was something for everyone. Maria was accommodating and concerned about ensuring the sleeping arrangements worked for everyone and moved the cot to suit.
The gite itself had everything we needed. The small children enjoyed seeing the animals - cows, monkey and Dave and Maria's beautiful dogs while the bigger two enjoyed the table tennis.
We enjoyed the choice of games and just how quiet and tranquil the gite was. We didn't quite expect it to be so dark at night!!!
We spent a lot of time exploring the local places (lakes) where we enjoyed the fact there were life guards, parks, shady areas and jumping platforms.
Our children were so fond of Aunty Maria and Uncle Dave as they affectionally got named.
We will definitely be visiting again, and recommending a stay to anyone who is looking for tranquil evenings and fun filled days in the beautiful part of France.
We also learnt a lot from Dave and Maria's local knowledge.
Thank you for a brilliant family holiday to be remembered for many years to come.... we had the best time.

quiétude et accueil chaleureux
Un accueil hors du commun par Maria et Dave qui allient souplesse, bienveillance et discrétion pour un cottage de charme qui se distingue par sa quiétude, ses pièces confortables au décor soigné, une piscine parfaitement entretenue et un immense jardin ouvert sur la campagne limousine proposant BBQ et espace pour jeux de ballons et de raquettes. Un endroit idéal pour un séjour en famille ou entre amis avec randos, baignades (lacs de Vassiviére et Bujaleuf proches et plage de ST Julien), canoé-kayak et marchés gourmands. Si vous souhaitez vous mettre "au vert" optez pour le "cherry cottage"!!! avec une rencontre magique à la clé car Maria et Dave sont de très belles personnes.

A beautiful location, deep in the French countryside. Comfortable and clean, David and Maria are great hosts, happy to help with anything! A visit to Lake Vassiviere is a must when you stay here and there are lots of places to visit within an easy drive in most directions.

I've had such a wonderful time in Cherry cottage. The cottage itself was stunning! Beautiful, clean and with amazing views. The hosts Dave and Maria were very helpful and nice. The location is very good as it's surrounded with pretty lakes and beaches,also shops and places to visit are near. This is the best place if you're looking to recharge your batteries!

Ideale woning
Ideale woning met privézwembad voor 6 personen in een rustig gebied.
De omgeving is prachtig en voor wie vertier zoekt is er in de nabije omgeving voldoende te doen.

A big thanks to David and Maria for making us feel so welcome and at home during our stay at cherry cottage.
The cottage is comfortable and fully equipped, the garden is huge and the surroundings are just beautiful.
We stayed here for two weeks with our two children and dog. The girls loved the swimming pool and games provided, the dog loved the space and freedom and we could sit back and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the area. For anyone who loves peace, quiet and privacy on holiday, this place is perfect. Don't let the fact that the cottage is roadside put you off...the only time it was busy was when a herd of cows came walking by. And you are more likely to bump into a wild deer than a car!!!
Within ten mins you have peyrat, a small village with a couple of restaurants, a bakery, small supermarket etc etc.
Lac de vassiviere is a must visit. Also horseriding and park arbre en arbre ( go ape French style) are great for family fun and close by.
The owners house is next door, but David and Maria are very respectful of your privacy, while always ready to help out with anything you might need, share their local knowledge or just to have a chat.
All in all we had a great holiday and came home with many happy family memories.

Lovely cottage
Hosts Maria and David were great, very helpful, cottage was comfortable and well recommended. Surrounding area beautiful, Lac Vassiviere is a must to visit more than once.
Great chill out, lovely walks, enjoyed very much, would return.

Picturesque, tranquil and surprisingly close to amenities and beaches.
The owners Dave and Maria are lovely, discreat helpful hosts. Cherry Cottage is delightful, set in the quiet country side surrounded by stunning views, close to the village and amenities some very beautiful lakes nearby. This was our second visit to the Cottage and enjoyed our stay as much as the first discovering different places to go and see. Will be going back again.
