This B&B was my favorite on our monthlong visit to France. It's in a quiet, peaceful, gorgeous old hilltop village. Unlike some other comparable accommodations, it was impeccably clean and modernized--the room as well as the bathroom. She thought of everything--extra toiletries in the bathroom (gorgeous soap!), hats to borrow, a fan in the bedroom. The decor is utter delight: romantic, funky, colorful, lovely. The breakfasts were fabulous--organic local yogurt, homemade scones, fresh fruit, homemade jam, buttery croissants. We enjoyed touring the surrounding area (she had excellent suggestions) and brought back our own pique-nique dinners to enjoy in the private garden with the magnificent view of the sunset. Same view off our bedroom--farms and vineyards and little roads below, stretched out to the horizon, peaceful in the mornings, glorious at twilight, and starlight at night. So romantic. So comfy. So enchanting.
If you are honeymooning or an artist or writer, this place would be ideal, for the privacy and peace. If you are more interested in touring, it makes a great base from which to foray out to Cahors or some of the medieval villages and then return for a restful night's sleep and a superb breakfast to start your next day.
The hostess is helpful, vivacious, welcoming. She's British but speaks French completely fluently. She is an excellent cook and hostess, and knows the area very well.
If you are traveling in France and wish for a gorgeous, romantic, utterly comfortable getaway, you MUST book this enchanting B&B! We will never forget it; we will return to it in our dreams.
