The owner, Patrizia, greeted us and was very helpful beforehand giving directions. The owner lives in the house below. The property is an attic flat with independant access from the rear. Parking is 50 yards away and convenient although the steep driveway out to the main road requires some practice when exiting.
Patrizia was extremely helpful showing us round the flat, explaining the heating, the satellite TV and lending us a DVD player for our stay. The heater uses wood pellets at a cost of E5/bag - one bag looked to be more than ample for our 1 week stay, had we used it, but no heating was necessary. After our initial meeting and a quick hello to verify all was well, the owner left us to enjoy the holiday, and all we saw of her was her car outside.
The flat was very spacious for the 2 of us, and could easily accomodate 2 couples happy to share some privacy- there is one main bedroom with a sofa bed in the living room/kitchen and a fold-down small bed in the hall. The kitchen was better provided for than others I have stayed in in the area, all clean and well built. The shower bathroom was well set out, with a washing machine and powder provided.
There are 2 windows in the living room/kitchen giving views out to the valley. The view can be improved by fully opening the shutters to the windows. Opposite the windows a large veranda window opens out to a lovely small balcony, where we took breakfast in the sunshine each morning. A slight drawback is that there is no view of the valley from the balcony, which looks out on trees and the uphill side of the property.
We spent most of our time rock climbing in the area and the flat was convenient for both this and the abundant mountainbiking trails. We hired bikes in Finalborgo for a day (E20). We believe there was a shed to keep bikes if you brought your own, although we did not see this. It would be too awkward to bring bikes into the flat, but think this unnecessary, as the area seemed very safe and rural. I have no doubt Patrizia would be very helpful with bike washing, storage, etc. Adjacent neighbours left their bikes out unlocked throughout our stay.
There were plenty of useful leaflets, maps, etc at the flat to help with planning activities during our stay. We had a thoroughly relaxing, tranquil and active trip.
