My family of 4 (including two kids 13, 11) thoroughly enjoyed our week in this house. We were close to the grocery and therefore cooked in many meals for the week. The kitchen was equipped fairly well and we made do with what was available. The washing machine was a bonus and we had lovely weather the entire week to dry our clothes out on the line. The tile floors and thick walls made it unnecessary to turn on the A/C for almost the entire week, but we did test it out the first night and it worked well and cooled down things quickly. I liked that the units also ran a fan (without A/C) so we used that in the evening instead. We were left small plug in devices for mosquitoes and no-see-ums and they worked well as none of us were bitten even though we left the doors open during the period of time (5-9 PM) when they were most active. The furniture was slightly worn, as was the pads for the outdoor lounge chairs, but I would gladly stay here again. The apartment was worth it. If you have any sort of mobility issue, this house - once you get into it - has very few steps. BUT, there are several flights of stairs down (approximately 70 steps). It has a wide open floorplan and both bedrooms look out through large windows to the sea and its fantastic color! The Praia Marina beach is probably down 150 stairs and a good 1/2 mile away from the house. The OneFire beach, which is really just a concrete platform that a restaurant runs on and rents beach umbrellas and chairs is a good mile and access is the other side of "town" and probably down 250-300 stairs. I would recommend this place to couples, families with children old enough to navigate stairs on their own (quite a few of them).
