We stayed in Feirm cottage for 5 nights. Two adults, two children and two dogs. Comfortable, immaculately clean, well equipped and spacious. If you’re looking for a comfortable home from home and a very helpful host, feirm cottage is right for you. Expect to be surrounded by nature, away from the hustle and bustle of towns and tourism. Ideal if you like hiking or cycling; we went for wonderful walks without even having to get in the car. Do not expect to be close to shops or cafes though. Lovely place, highly recommended.

The cottage is well-equipped and situated in a lovely region. We enjoyed sitting at the fireplace in the evenings and there was enough space for everyone (we are a family of five). Josephine was very helpful and gave us tips where to eat, places to visit etc. We can highly recommend Feirm Cottage.

I spent 11 days with my family in this cottage in a most beautiful part of Ireland. It was very comfortable place and we lacked nothing. Ms. Josephine O'Neill the owner was very welcoming and helpful. The place has nice views of the surrounding countryside. It is nice to wake up in the morning and through the window see cows grazing nearby. My sons enjoyed themselves very much. There are some nice walks nearby, passing by grazing cows and sheep and there's even a small lake an hour or so by foot which is quite scenic. Nearby I found the Blackwater Tavern very welcoming. The people are friendly. Feirm Cottage was our base for visiting the Ring of Kerry, the Beara and Dingle peninsulas. We really enjoyed ourselves and will always cherish our stay at Feirm Cottage.

A really beautiful cottage situated amongst breathtaking scenery. Really close to the spectacular Ballaghbeama Pass. Do visit this pass if you are in Kerry. Josephine is a wonderful host. She even greeted us with a wonderful banana cake and loads of information.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt. Josephine gab uns gute Empfehlungen, welche Orte in der Gegend zu besichtigen. Das Haus liegt abgelegen, Kenmare ist jedoch in etwa 20' erreichbar, um in den Ausgang zu gehen. Das Haus ist charmant eingerichtet und die Küche gut ausgestattet.

Maison isolée dans la pampa irlandaise, mais bien située pour partir à l'aventure en voiture et profiter du superbe cadre irlandais alentour. La maison est spacieuse (nous étions 5) et propre, vous vous y sentirez à l'aise.

A lovely spot to get away from it all. Cottage is well kept with everything needed for a great stay. The owner was so helpful in sorting out some - minor - issues and made us feel very welcome.

We were looking for somewhere that would except dogs for our Ring of Kerry trip and what a find! Josephine was great from start to end of our two night stay. When we booked through the site she replied promptly and said we can contact her with any questions we may have. She also gave detailed directions to this lovely remote cottage. We also met her husband in the second day moving his cattle to another field - our two dogs didn't know what was going on. They never seen cows before :) When we first arrived we decided to light the fire straight away as there was a chill outside. We'd brought fire lighters and wood but to our surprise the fire was all ready to go - we had to do was light it! There is a pub / shop / petrol station close by but remember it's remote countryside you are in so they are small and basic. Kenmare is a 20 ish min drive away so we went there a walk around the village (literally) and stop in for one drink. We didn't put the telly on for the whole two nights stay - with the views to the front and rear of the cottage we didn't need it on. There was a few board games in the house also and plenty of maps and information about the area. When Josephine dropped by on the first night she suggested we go to the chocolate factory which we did and I'm grateful for as we were starving by the time we got there. It seems that every village we went to see if we could have lunch the places were closed. This place was perfect for us.

We stayed here for three nights with our two young boys. The area around Fern Cottage was our favorite in Co. Kerry. My wife took the boys for walks along the country roads while I fished for salmon and trout on nearby lakes and river. O'Neill's Blackwater Tavern is just down the road and a good place for live music on Friday nights, or just a pint after day spent fishing. It's worth noting that electric and oil usage is billed separately at the end of stay, and paid in cash, but we didn't mind the minimal extra cost since we washed and dried numerous loads of laundry after our first week on the road in Ireland.

The cottage is delightful -homey, cozy and beautiful. Josephine is a wonderful hostess. She was very helpful in answering our questions, both before and during the trip. She also makes a delicious banana bread.
