Great property with stunning scenery
Loved this house and its location. It was alot bigger inside than we thought. 2 great bathrooms was a bonus. 2 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs all very comfortable here. Ofcourse we visited during storm Betty but felt so cosy inside the house. The owner personally showed us around the house when we arrived and he was so lovely and helpful and lives closeby if needed. There is a really big garden that wraps around the house but it is a little exposed to the weather as no vegetation but for us that just added to the experience. The location is excellent with everywhere we wanted to go within 30/40 mins drive. The scenery is stunning. Be sure to visit Maghera beach and caves which can be seen from the property. Ararat Town has some lovely restaurants and bars and portnoo/narin beach is ideal for taking a dip. Wouldn't hesitate to return to this area and property.

Wild Atlantic
The cottage is surrounded by great views of the sea and mountains. I went there with my nearly children - ages 18 and 20. They had a great active holiday - super cycling, fishing, walking, swimming and surfing. The host left us a very nice bottle of wine and chocolates. The cottage is clean and practicals. We were delighted to be able to talk our dog with us and would certainly stay again.

Wonderful location, lovely cottage, great host. You haven’t seen proper beaches until you’ve been to Donegal. We’ll be back!

The cottage is small and basic but very clean and Sean met us on arrival and give us a tour of the cottage, he presented us with a bottle of wine and a box of chocs which was a luvely touch.The surrounding views were beautiful and hard to beat. A visit to Assaranca falls and Maghera beach is a must. Thanks again Sean for a luvely stay.

Idyllic Setting
The location of this house is fantastic. If you are looking to get away from it all this is the place to be. Sean is so friendly and helpful. He showed us all around the house and also left us a bottle of wine and chocolates. Fabulous base to explore the peninsula and Sean so helpful with local knowledge. The house was clean, well equipped and pet friendly - a huge plus with enclosed gardens, our dog loved it. Accommodated 6 adults comfortably. Night sky and early morning sun rise breath taking. We enjoyed a pint of Guinness in 'The Beehive' in Ardara, very friendly staff and locals.

Lovely place
Beautiful house situated in a beautiful location, the house seems a lot more spacious inside, the location can't be beaten, beaches, waterfall and beautiful scenery everywhere you look, the owner Sean is a lovely fella, would definitely recommend and would definitely go back, Thanks for everything Sean.

Wonderful place
This is a lovely, clean house, wonderful views, the owner is a gentleman. Very warm welcome, with a bottle of wine and chocolate. The view is fantastic, beach is nearby, dog is allowed to stay, perfect vacation. We will definitely be back soon! Thanks Sean for everything.

Majestic Mountains
The scenery is stunning; the peace and tranquility unbelievable - the only sounds were from sheep, cattle or the occasional tractor on the mountain road. We had great weather which helped but I'd challenge you to find a more beautiful spot in Donegal. I loved to sit on the front step of an evening taking in the views and feeling calmed by the utter stillness all around.
Sean was extremely friendly and accommodating and very easy to deal with. The house is grand - beautiful views from every aspect - the only niggle is that the WiFi is patchy (we could only access it once in 6 days) but having said that, that didn't bother me as I wanted to get away from it all and this location and accommodation hit the mark. The beautiful strand beach is 10 minutes walk from the house and never really packed (but watch out for the jelly fish)!
If you are looking for a tranquil getaway in stunning surroundings, this is the place for you. I've visited many locations in Donegal over the years but this one stole my heart.

Lovely cottage
Very nice location, easy access with fantastic views
The cottage is very comfortable 3 bed rooms, top floor in suite
We visit Donegal on our Staycation
Ardara is a very good base.
The house was very clean, the kitchen is small but had everything we needed.
The open fire in the living rooms is a +.
Sean is very nice and told us all the spots to visit around the area.
The beach at the end of the small peninsula is very nice, 5 minutes cycling.
Our 2 daughters (10&14) really enjoyed.

Remote and beautiful area
This is almost the last house on this remote spit of land that points into the Atlantic - next stop USA.
You can see the sea on both sides of the spit from the house which is warm, very clean and functional.
Sean, the owner, is very efficient and friendly and made us feel welcome.
The landscape is like going back in time with abundant wildlife and coral sand beaches and mountains that sweep down to the sea.
Best of all is the magnificent Sheskinmore Nature Reserve - a short car journey away. The big question is why, in the middle of summer, there are so few people here?
