A real treat - wonderful holiday and property
What an amazing two weeks, we didn't want to leave! Chateau Roc is such a unique place to stay, we loved the location, the facilities and the great attention to detail. We spent hours in the garden using the pool and hot tub and the garden room (with bar) was a great place to gather when we needed some chill out time. The property is decorated so sympathetically throughout. and had everything we needed, and more.
We loved exploring some of the local towns, with plenty to see in the local area. Its also a great place to run and cycle with some challenging hills thrown in. We enjoyed popping down to swim in the river and make use of the inflatables (free of charge) and there were several restaurants and bars to relax in.
We all loved the fact we were staying within the walls of a castle and it really appealed to all of our imaginations whilst gazing down on the town and heading back to 'our castle' after a trip out.
Christine was so helpful and was so generous with her knowledge of the town and surrounding areas.
We recommend this property wholeheartedly and hope to visit again in future years. Thanks for a fabulous holiday!!!

LE PARADIS SUR TERRE
Une vue imprenable sur le village de st Martin , un jardin haut en couleur, d'une tranquillité insoupçonnable;
Un appel à la méditation, idéal pour famille avec enfants , piscine, jacuzzi ....
Dans les ruines d'un chateau, endroit insolite et délicieux pour se laisser aller
ou pour rayonner sur 3 départements chargés d'histoires et de patrimoines à ne pas manquer à pied, en vélo ou en voiture !!!!!
A refaire absolument !!!!
Merci aussi de la gentillesse et la disponibilité de christine sur place pour notre bonheur quotidien !!!!

Gorgeous home in a beautiful region
We were so lucky to find this property.
The location is absolutely stunning and many a happy hour was spent gazing at the views or the stars from both terraces.
It’s an easy walk down the hill for the small supermarket and bakers and we sampled all four restaurants in the village during our stay.
The super clean river at the foot of the hill was loved by our teenagers (for its free inflatables) and dog alike.
The property itself is beautifully decorated and the hosts Christine and Carlos think of every detail and ensure it’s there for your arrival (ie no last minute shopping for hand soap, olive oil or dishwasher tablets etc on arrival).
They are super-friendly for all your needs, yet only pop in for the pool so you have complete privacy.
We had a wonderful holiday and were very sorry to leave...

A true find
Your holiday home inside the castle's ruïns. Great private pool, spectacular views over the village below, even from your jacuzzi. Lots of space both in- and outside, very well equipped and with a charming caretaker. Be prepared to wanting to stay.

a rare gem
We holidayed last year near Ville-franche de Rougerie and did a lot of sight seeing, so this year we wanted to chill out a bit more. Chateau Roc was just perfect to do this!
We had wonderful weather so made great use of the garden and pool. There are lots of different areas to the garden - patio with table at the house, poolside, area where hot tub is situated with little table and 2 chairs, hammocks (double and single) in another area, an upper terrace again with tables, chairs etc, badminton and table tennis, trampoline, and of course the 'hobbit hole' with table football and darts if you needed a break from the mid-day sun!
The morning walk to the boulangerie for fresh croissants was a delight, and the town has pretty much everything you could want.
We hired kayaks in St Antoin which was great fun and good value and Cordes sur Ciel is lovely for shopping.
Christine was lovely and helpful and if you forget your book, there's plenty on the shelves in the house - lots of interesting, quirky books, and lots of dvds too if you want. The welcome pack left was very much appreciated too!
All in all, we couldn't have asked for more from our week. We are a family of 6, children ageing in range from 9 to 12. Just perfect!

Chateau Roc is the coziest, most idyllic retreat, with so much to do both in the area and in the house, a week wasn't enough to enjoy it! The location is phenomenal, built into the castle ruins overlooking the rivers and town. You can pop down the path in 2 minutes for a coffee or a dip in the river. The swimming platforms in the Viaur are great fun but you can swim anywhere, and the pool at the chateau is perfection. We so enjoyed the trampoline and badminton, and ran out of time to play the games in the hobbit house! There are numerous places outside to sit to eat or relax with your tea or vin. Sunrises and sunsets are both gorgeous from the garden! The inside of the house is comfortable and lovely, with lots of space for everyone to hang out. And as for the area, the village itself is nice--it's "real", not cutesy, not a tourist village, but still so pretty. And nearby are St Antonin (don't miss the Sunday market and canoeing on the Aveyron!), Penne, Cordes, Najac, and so many other towns, not go mention Albi with its fabulous cathedral, and plenty of vineyards. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. It's not easy to find a village property with this big of a garden and so many amenities. Truly unique 😊😊😊

Excellent location, excellent accommodation and wonderful host
Chateau Roc is a quite magical place, nestling up in the castle grounds overlooking the valley with the river and village below and was particularly picturesque in the early September mornings as the mist slowly burnt off. There was so much to do in both the area and the house and garden. We visited several of the lovely old towns and enjoyed the Toulouse Lautrec museum in Albi.
The characterful house was extremely well equipt, with every need catered for, the small details making such a difference when you have travelled light, including the provision of a well chosen range of starter snacks and drinks for our arrival. Christine, our host was helpful, informative and respectful of our space as she visited the garden to keep the pool and hot-tub in tip-top condition.
Three generations of our family had a great week which went so quickly with highlights including the hot-tub overlooking the valley, the excellent range of games and activities at the house including table football, ping pong, trampoline, BBQ and hammock, as well as small boats for the river. The village also provided a small range of shops and places to eat/drink.
We had a lovely week and have made some special memories with our family - thank you.

DELICIEUSE SEMAINE !
Nous avons passé une très agréable semaine au Château Roc avec nos trois enfants (11, 9 et 4 ans). La maison est confortable et authentique, le jardin fantastique offre trois vues différentes, le village depuis le jacuzzi, les ruines du château de la piscine et la rivière en contrebas. Il y a beaucoup d'activités pour les enfants (Ping-pong, Badminton, trampoline ...) et les villages environnants valent le détour pour une visite touristique. Enfin, l'accueil chaleureux et généreux de Christine, la propriétaire, est remarquable.

A marvellous place to stay with your family
Christine could not have provided a more wonderful place to stay. It exceeded all expectations. The view is spectacular,the countryside beautiful,and the amenities at the chateau amazing. There is plenty to do in the chateau,and many hilltop villages to explore.
We had very young children with us,and Christine made sure we had everything to make their stay easy. She could not have been kinder.
I heartily recommend a stay there. We didn't want to leave.

Couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our holiday!
Having spent years booking properties on line, I've come to expect that there's always something that could be improved; maybe the kitchen has too few utensils, maybe you have to drive to get the morning croissants, maybe the neighbour overlooks the property etc etc, but I can honestly say that Chateau Roc ticks all the boxes.
It is completely private; the owner Christine is more than helpful and has thought of everything that you might need in the house; the garden is the absolute jewel in the crown with a swimming pool, badminton net, table tennis, trampoline and oh yes….the hot tub in the turret!!
It kept our family of 6 ( including 4 teenagers) completely entertained.
Laguepie is small and quiet but has all the basics and the river that runs through the town is lovely; we spent the last day mucking about in the clear waters……..bliss!
All I have left to say is that I would highly recommend this property ……it's wonderful.
