The house sits on top of a ridge overlooking native bush and farmland with views of the Tasman Sea in the distance. The property is a 75 acre farm with sheep, cattle, pigs, goats and birds.
Guests can spend time in the paddocks with the good natured stock and feed the pigs and birds anytime.

Our house is completely off-grid. All our power comes from a solar panel array. All our water is rainwater collected from the roof. The property is 2mins from the Arahura River - an important source of pounamu (jade) on the West Coast. Wander the river banks to see if you can find you own piece of jade.
We are only a 5min drive to the beach which is a beautifully wild place filled with amazing driftwood and pebbles - a great place for a bonfire.

Hokitika est l'endroit idéal pour se baser tout en explorant la côte ouest. Toutes les meilleures attractions sont à une courte distance, notamment: Franz Joseph Glacier, soufflures Punakaiki, Hokitika Gorge (prendre insectifuge!), Lac Kaniere, Hokitika Treetop Walkway et Shantytown. Hokitika est célèbre pour ses pounamu (jade / Greenstone) la sculpture et il y a de nombreuses galeries locales mettant en valeur la belle pierre. Il y a beaucoup de brousse facile promenades près de notre maison, les vents les plus proches par un ancien site de mine d'or datant des années 1800.
